I love Lancaster and Pennsylvania so much. I live 30 minutes away from here and the Amish people are some of the nicest people I have met in my entire life. All around you in every other place in the USA, life revolves around job, time, and money. In the Amish lifestyle, it revolves around community, family, and culture, something you don’t find much of anymore in the world
Amish is America's future, like it or not. With crazy liberals don't have kids, liberals have 1.5 kids per couple, conservatives has 2.5 kids, Amish have 8.5 kids, 200 years later, 50% American will be Amish, 49% conservatives, 1% liberals. Liberals will die out. I can wait for to come true.

Great video. Born & raised in Lancaster county.Been to S America,Europe, & Asia, & Pacific NW, but very few places come close. The amish are good people who put their hands to the plough and never looked back, and never bowed to the kings of Europe who stole their land and drove them to America. Their history is a prime example of why people came to America.
But one thing I truly admire about the Amish community is their focus on family and community. They value spending time with their loved ones and building strong relationships, something most of us struggle with in this fast-paced, technology-driven world. They have family dinners, engage in meaningful conversations, and genuinely know their neighbors. Meanwhile, my family and I are sitting at the same dinner table, each one of us buried in our smartphones, scrolling through memes and TikTok videos. We're connected to the whole world, but disconnected from the people sitting right in front of us.
Huge respect to the Amish people as they strictly follow their traditions, and prohibited electronics, they live by natural way and giving huge contribution to save mother nature, lots of love from Buddhist brother❤
I reside in Lancaster county, in the Summer I go fishing in one of their ponds. They are very cordial. I also have to stop at an Amish shop to get some worms on my ay to the pond.
Inspiring how? Are you inspired by inbreeding? Or is it the one bath a week that really inspired you? How about closed cult mentally that it's ok to lie or cheat a person not in the cult is that what inspires you? Or maybe its the way they get around local laws maybe thats what inspired you. IDK I sure all hell don't think much about the way they are.
@@scothammond5736 not everything is inspiring about them as you pointed out but there are things we could learn from them. These days we rely on technology too much.
@@MrOnion-js1ls The Amish use more technology than you think. Me personally I don't rely on tech for much. The things we can learn from the Amish aren't much. I have strong family values I have my religious beliefs and I have no desire to live anything like an Amishmen. I have been around them worked with been friends with them for 37 years I'm not to impressed with them
@@MrOnion-js1ls how exactly do we rely on technology too much? Just a peice of my mind, but i hate when people say that. Like saying that "we rely on our smartphones too much". That's like saying "we rely on our undergarments too much! People in the past didn't wear them. We should live like that too". You realise how stupid that is right? I hate when people paint technology as something "bad". It's not. And what's wrong about relying on something that's good? You realise how much technology has made our lives easier right? In the past, according to which these "amish" people are living, people had to send texts through mail which took months to reach. It happens with a single click now. Yeah, for that to happen, "we rely on technology", but is that bad? Well, we rely on houses too much too, people in the past lived in caves. We rely on language too much, people in the past conveyed through images. We rely on cooked food too much, people in the past ate them raw. The list can go on for a 100 hours. I'll stop.
The almighty algorithm finally gets me. Ive been to Lancaster county and its vicinity like Lititz spending time with my family, was surprised to know of the Amish and their simple But sacred style of puritanical life.
And life in general, I think. I've always admired the simplicity by which they live, not necessitating so many of the modern luxuries that a lot of us rely on every day.
While working at Chick-fil-A in Arizona I have often met a family of Amish from Lancaster, Pennsylvania. They have to be the most interesting culture on the east coast of America, and I often enjoy making comparisons between Swiss German and Pennsylvania Dutch, which they seem to enjoy as well. It’s also really amazing to see them in a fast food chain with modern phones, but they tell me that it is only for while they are on vacation. What interesting lives!
Nope, they’re always at the mall and on cell phones. I’ve seen them at bus stops on cell phones or at their stands at Green Dragon, talking on the phone. They’re not as innocent as they look!
@@jrutt2675 I know the difference between the two. Some, not all, Amish have cell phones. And I’ve seen them ( the younger ones mostly) using them while working their stands at farmers markets, not while they were on vacation.
@@lisaaxe9062 How do you know they are Amish without asking though! The difference is the practice of Christianity! Its a different church! The Mennonite church has more modernity and the Amish is traditional. Yes, you are correct there are different aptitudes of Amish. Beachy Amish can use a limited cell phone and does use electronics and automobiles. Television is forbidden in all Amish circles.
This was awesome! I learned a lot. Such nice people. I met a family here in Maine last year that just moved here and bought some strawberries from them. Best I have ever had!

Honestly Delaware drivers are more of a pain around here than New Yorkers
So yes, the Amish folks may have some quirks and differences in their way of life, but maybe there's something we can learn from them. They remind us to slow down, appreciate the simpler things, and truly connect with the people around us. And if all else fails, we can always rely on their exceptional craftsmanship to decorate our homes while we continue trying to find the matching socks. Thank you, goodnight, and may your journey through life be as skillfully crafted as an Amish rocking chair!

Right in my town! Lancaster also has a massive refugee population. The biggest per capita.
Wow!! I am so glad to see the Amish people, how I have longing to be residing with Amish people.
I'd rather spend a day in a bear's cave

I'd remember the Simpsons instead
Yes, I just saw it yesterday

Hey! That’s the hometown of the greatest band of all time, August Burns Red!
I live near Lancaster and I when I go to a summer camp, I love seeing all the Amish stuff! I love seeing all the horses and carriages, the wide spread fields, and the Amish people!
This is so fascinating! I love cultural diversity.
It so cool that they have a community
Cool? Check out how much they contribute to our tax base and check out their use of
our welfare system.....it happens. Self sufficient my a__.

Same. I'm from Australia, and never really looked into the Amish culture. Quite interesting.
they are great builders!!!
They are hacks who do what it takes to get done fast.
@David Ruth well for starters Amish are Americans and I'll tell you for a FACT Amish are hack builders who willingly ignore standards in order to save time and money I've worked with them my brother has worked for them. You talk out your ass
I am of Swiss German descent living in Africa. I love and respect the Amish.
"Amish avoid contact to the outside world"
North Sentinelese: Were still the king of isolation... WAIT how did I speak english?
But the North Sentinel people dont know the modern world in the outside
Yeah I wonder if Drew will visit North Sentinel Island?! 🏴🇬🇧🤗👍
@@shihtzu291Nah it's better if he doesn't visits that place. I don't want to see another John Allen Chau-ish incident. Drew Binsky deserves to live a long life for this love of travel. I would rather suggest him to visit Pitcairn once this Coronavirus pandemic gets over. Or maybe Kiribati. Being an Indian, I'll never suggest anyone to visit that island (North Sentinel) no matter how intriguing its story is.
@@prize5ighter I don't think he should either I was joking because if he did then I don't think he'd ever come back if you know what I mean mate and I honestly think that Drew wouldn't even entertain the idea of going as he wouldn't disrespect the law and rules of going there and medeling in these people's lives. 🏴🇬🇧👍

Really astonished with the Amish people! I'd be happy to be with the community when I come to America
Amish people are very cool indeed
Some Amish are ok with filming up close. Drew, they also live in Canada as well. Pretty sure they live in Mexico and Belize as well.
Geo Orc. I don’t think he’s saying they aren’t other places. But most commonly found in Lancaster
My first video I watched at this channel.. Now Id like to thank youtube that they recommended me this, I finnaly have a wish - to be a traveller like him.
Shady Maple Smorgasbord Buffet 🤤🤤🤤 I haven’t been in a few yrs but I loved it every time I went
My favorite part of traveling to Michigan from South Carolina is going through Amish country. So simple and beautiful...it's really a wonderful thing
I reside in Lancaster county, in the Summer I go fishing in one of their ponds. They are very cordial. I also have to stop at an Amish shop to get some worms on my ay to the pond.
Cool to see you came to Pennsylvania as a resident
*-When Drew posted videos about other countries-Interesting*

Their simplicity is so inspiring tbh!
I have been around them worked with been friends with them for 37 years I'm not to impressed with them
Lose your phone and get to work then
@@MrOnion-js1ls how exactly do we rely on technology too much?
I grew up in PA. I love The Amish, real food, real life, real people. Very respectfully. There's a lot of them in Philly. The best shops in town.
I was in lancaster 2 weeks ago, I can truly say it is totally different from english people and amish
Amish cooking is absolutely fantastic. We could learn a lot from them about cooking.
And life in general, I think. I've always admired the simplicity by which they live, not necessitating so many of the modern luxuries that a lot of us rely on every day.
You can smell the body odor on some when you go into their businesses. I wouldn't buy
anything they make themselves....food wise.

@@lisaaxe9062 Those are Mennonites not Amish!
@@jrutt2675 yes, that’s right. Their buggies and clothing are not the same.
Thanks for this great video, Drew! I'll show this to my students tomorrow. Greetings from Germany!
I live near Lancaster and into Amish town and It amazed me of the horse and buggy. Must be really fun. Hope I can do it sometime.
I live in Lancaster. The Amish are very cool great cooks great people
This was awesome! I learned a lot. Such nice people. I met a family here in Maine last year that just moved here and bought some strawberries from them. Best I have ever had!
As someone who lives in nearby in Delaware, I have visited Lancaster County, PA countless times and it is one of the most unique places I have ever been to
As some who lives in Lancaster County (off of 896) you've probably been in my way or tailgating me because you people don't understand 45mph so either yous are driving slow to gawk or become you all think no one on 896 is turning off on any of the numerous back roads.
Thanks Drew, great video to teach my EFL students about the Amish :)
