I have tears in my eyes for no bloody reason. I guess deep down this is a type of life I wanna live. Simple and pure. Away from all the noise and pollution of the city.
the simple life isn't so simple. be careful, the grass is not always greener on the other side. This life is being romanticized, but in reality it is a very hard life.
I did not know about this except for the menonite Amish people at the bread basket in Riner. And yea I have not had a chance to talk to them but I have been in the store and they all seem like sweet people.
That's false. They stop schooling at 14 and only learn basic knowledge. There is a girl who escaped one of the largest Amish communities and she said she was told the world was flat and she didn't even know the US had a president. She saw a picture of George Washington and just thought it someone's grandpa. She also said she didn't even know that there was 50 states.
Life for farmers all over the world is never easy. Bad weather and destructive insects are always a threat. I'm surrounded by Amish here in northwestern Pennsylvania and what has always impressed me most is their work ethic, family values, respect for tradition, and self discipline. Their lives appear bucolic but under the surface it's hard work that makes their society appear serene. Although they keep to themselves, they are the first to help non Amish neighbors in need. They live their Christian faith. Like most of our ancestors Sunday is the one day of the week they do only basic chores after their church services are over. It is a day to visit relatives and socialize with their neighbors.
thats why you rarely or if anything, never will find them having mental issues like modern people. because they have tough will, discipline minds, and hearts full of love and connected to family. compared to people today , connected to billions and still don't know their neighbor's name. and here we have 1-2 kids and they wont even show up to visit once a year. these people visit even semi distant relatives regularly. sure there are disadvantages too in their lives but they avoid so much of our problems by being who they are. i betcha they can all tell you what a woman is. something modern society can't define anymore.
You know... when the shit hits the fan and everyone freaks out in America, the Amish will be the most technologically advanced in our country. We will be begging them to teach us their ways.
@@arnieg8800 Yeah, that’s not exactly true. The Amish allow anyone to attend their churches’ and will even translate if neccessary. It preserves the time tested ways of doing things, while also giving people the confidence and skills they need to make it, no matter what happens. We grew up on a farm with no running water and occasional electricity so we had to know how to preserve our own foods, so I guess we could hack it if we had to, but I feel like I don't remember enough to be really confident about it. I've never slaughtered livestock apart from fowls, so that would be a big, intimidating skill to learn because I don't remember exactly how it was done, but I do remember that time is of the essence once your cow is down, but that's about it. I do know how to salt and smoke and cure meats, can pretty much everything, dry foods for storage and those things I actually did on the farm, but there's still a lot i don't know that I need to know. If I could possibly get connected to a farmer nearby who would be willing to teach me all of this, that would be a massive boon because much of it is learned by doing and you can't really learn by not doing.

Odd where the "technology" line is for different amish people. In PA, many would never use power tools or ride in electric carts. Only hand tools and horse-drawn carriages.

There are still a few place where children live barefoot and that's the way it should be. They get to feel everything Mother Earth has to offer beneath their feet. Barefoot kids forever!
People want this type of life without the "religious aspect" ...well that's where they get their way of life. I'm not taking about the legalistic ways they have. But the pure way they want their hearts and lives to stay and live. I'm a Christian but I'm not amish. They are christians and they are Amish. We have similar morals we follow and we both believe in the word of God. I believe you can be modest and wear pants and show your hair. They don't. But that's ok as long as they aren't being legalistic. Example, "if you do this and this and that, you'll go to heaven". Going to heaven isn't about good works. Going to heaven is about Jesus, his blood, His resurrection and our part of repentance.
Exactly, religion is not just a book but rather a behavioral algorithm, it helps a community in the long run, especially if this community is a hard working community

This is the most gratifying video to watch. The spirit of God just shines through these good people .
Being surrounded by the antithesis of God in society, it is beyond refreshing and hopeful and redeeming to witness American citizens who are happy and at peace and in no way materialistic, and so much wealthier than everyone outside their exclusive blessed culture.
Hi
What is stopping you from going to heaven? Why are you avoiding it? Why would you want to live for 80 years with Satan on Earth? You are fake believer.
👌🤗🇭🇷
correct me if i’m wrong but these are real genuine smiles right there these lovely people have
Such a wonderful wholesome family. Thank you for being so kind and open to them. :)
Idk but I really get very excited watching this family, They're excited to explain what they do and its really cool.
I’m Dutch and they’re like speaking a very old Dutch mixed with German, so weird to hear
The gentleman explaining the bee’s is extremely knowledgeable and informative. He would make a great teacher of his craft if he isn’t already. I would pay to take classes from him!
I'm in Pennsylvania Amish country, i love driving through their "neighborhoods", farm after farm, tidy beautiful homes. Great people, us "english" as we are sometimes referred to could learn something about living from these folks.
Those orthodox Jewish people?
Thank you for showing us this glimpse!
I was raised Amish, and miss parts of my heritage mightily.
Aren't you anymore an amish? What happened?
@@jiboopiu6609 Life, bro……. Just life.
I have mad skills, and can care for massive properties and people with the proper tools.
How could I watch loved ones in need lose and starve because I was busy pretending I live in the 1800’s?
That’s why, brother.
I am very sorry to hear that. Hopefully you are good now right? I really like the amish community a lot!
@@jiboopiu6609 I love the Amish, and the Amish lifestyle still, and yes me and mine are good, thanks for asking!
@@leidersammlung6955 god bless brother! Love from Europe!
I knew a lot of Amish from Berne and Geneva, Indiana. They explained to me that there were basically four families there, Schwartzentruber, Hilty, Yoder and Gruber I think. I knew them from quite a while ago, and they were really Old Order Amish. They all spoke with heavy accents and the children never talked to us Englischers.
Please keep this Amish adventure up, I've skipped all others just to keep focus on this masterpiece .
I want to live with them. This is the best life ever. Leave alone the cities.
Lol. Me too
No, you wouldn't. Living on a farm is hard work. You'll get back to your city in a week or so.
IF there's something that you want to do in life, make a plan and do it. Start from the goal and work backwards, step by step.
God is calling you :) It’s hard work but it’s also rewarding. You start to see the beauty in life and appreciate things so much more.
@@dncviorel It is hard work, and I know because I spent every summer for years working on my grandparents' farm. However, if you can stomach it, it definitely is a life that has its charms also.
We used to fight to be the one in the rolling tank. It was quite a memorable childhood. A simple life comes with completeness
I always wanted to go visit the Amish. I think they’re so cool. I love the way they live.
These kids seem so happy! I can count the days that I am that happy, being that there are so few.... This was a joy to watch. Happy kids = happy life.
living for your US vlogs. can't wait to see what's next in your adventure here.
A large colony of Amish, have moved in the the road from me in Maine. Nice people
their population is growing so fast they are moving to other areas of the US.
@Richard Schiffman i completely agree.
When there all walking on the trail that’s a sick ass photo if they took that the kid pose on the green vehicle was amazing too. 7:28
