- Here's the story of how MN-based bass pro Seth Feider got his start in fishing as a young lad and leading to his current status as an accomplished professional bass fisherman -- a fitting story on the heels of his 2019 Bassmaster Angler of the Year Championship event win on Michigan's Lake St. Clair.
Feider comes at us with a bass bum's story of incremental growth starting at local level competitions, working his way to regional events, and eventually breaking onto the national stage.
Success wasn't immediate but steady efforts coupled with innate talent lead to wins along the way, and perhaps most importantly, the building of confidence that allows Seth to fish to win tournaments instead of just cashing checks. I was fortunate enough to marshal for Seth on Tenkiller. The guy is an absolute stick. Balls to the wall from takeoff to check-in. Super nice and down to earth just like this video shows. No gimmicks or hype. He represents BASS well for what it is - a no bull tournament series.

Now that I've found Seth, I'm on a mission to get out on LSC with my little 12 ft aluminum floater. I probably won't venture out too far, and I need to catch a low wind day, but I want to experience a few of those smallies. LSC is a half hour away from me, wish me luck!
Zee Archer Be careful out there. It’s gotten scary for me even in a 21 footer. Fall is a good time of the year to get on a good bite not too far away from shore. Stay safe!
@@baggingbiggins2247 I've been watching the wind reports and we actually launched out from metro for a few hours this afternoon. Didn''t venture out very far, it was a good day , but no bites for us or anyone we chatted with.
Super late comment but if your planning on heading out during fall make sure to keep bundled and don’t venture too far in the main lake as it gets choppy as all hell look for sand and rock beds good luck if your going out this year!
@@shadowswordfish3745 Ended up fishing Anchor Bay on a low wind day, no smallies, but it was a good time. LSC will be put on hold til a bigger boat enters the picture, gotta stay safe!
Zee Archer good thinking yeah that’s the only thing about these big bodies of water they can blow up in a second so if your in a small boat it’s pretty dangerous. Hope your able to get your new boat!
Soon to be starting my journey down that road to try and become a professional angler as well. I’ve been saving money for the past few years and just bought a new boat and this coming up year I’m signing up for the Florida series and Georgia series of the FLW BFL! It’s nice hearing how someone had almost the same story as me and is now a pro!

@@christopherram8948 have been fishing the series yes. Did very good my first year, was 19th overall in points for the season out of 300+ anglers. Fish the MLF Toyota series now and have been struggling a little just because the lakes are so new to me but still catching fish.

Great story. Thanks for sharing. A couple questions- how do you keep gear secure from theft when you are off the water? How do pros take care of bodily functions during a tournament if fans are following them?

@@thomaspfliger6230 I guess you don't get what success entails in the pro fishing world. There is a lot more to it than just fishing. Image means a lot.
At the end of the day he caught the fish and earned the paycheck. Sure his mullet and mustache is his image but if he's a damn good fisherman
