    To have more control, you can use the bevel modifier instead of doing it in the edit mode.

    when I bevel the floor edge after extruding the walls up, the floor bevel hardly goes up and wall and stays almost entirely on the floor creating a sharp edge now matter how much I bevel it out... any idea why it's doing this? I've tried several times on and it always seems to do this...

    • @WhatMakeArt
      @WhatMakeArt  Рік тому

      Sometimes the tool acts weird, make sure you click the edges and then press ctrl b or command b to bevel and then you'll see in the lower left hand of the screen, the bevel toolbar. It will be collapsed. So just click the triangle to expand it and then change the size of the bevel

    When I bevel the edges the second time it only bevels the bottom portion instead of both bottom and the top, any thoughts on what might be causing this?

      There are plugins / add-ons to bring GTA assets into Blender, should be able to reverse the process

    so the "floor" is essentially one huge ngon if you do this.. anyone know if there is a convenient way to divide the whole thing into uniform faces for when you want to add a material to it and dont want it to be horrendously stretched?

    • @WhatMakeArt
      @WhatMakeArt  2 місяці тому

      If you UV unwrap it, it should be able to have a uniform texture

    • @Freelancer604
      @Freelancer604 2 місяці тому

      @@WhatMakeArt oh ok, yeah i guess the topology didnt matter in the end, i was thinking each face shares the same realestate on the texture for some reason

    • @suburbanview
      @suburbanview Місяць тому +1

      after the bevel thing, u can subdivide the rest in the usual way.

  • @steinmov

    At the start I was sure that your steps would be easy to follow and that it would take just a couple of times for an animator to get this backdrop. No. Every time I get to the bevel edges by pulling down I get nothing. It will not bevel. I am using 4.1 Were there changes to this set of menus and the steps? I can get the subdivisions at the corner of the plane. I can get the edges to extrude up to get the same wall that your example shows. But get nothing after that. The command bevel edges is there and I get the dotted line but it will not bevel!!! Any help would save me.

    • @WhatMakeArt
      @WhatMakeArt  2 місяці тому

      In the bevel edges pop-up menu, do you have it beveling edges or beveling points?

    • @suburbanview
      @suburbanview Місяць тому +1

      4.1 dose it, but sometimes dont, in that case just use the small screen in the lower left corner, where u can do it manually. Is at easy as the other way, and you have more control on the bevel
