@@mrjoni54 Oh it went rather well. the dicegods smiled upon them esp when it came to sanity rolls. they managed to finish the scenario and both lived to tell the tale. We should be playing again later this week
@@dmeep Nice to hear! I started running it just this weekend myself (first time playing Coc). We had to end early just as they started investigate the small town, but everyone seems pretty hooked as of now
1:17:39 Asbestos as a building material has existed since at least the 1920's and has been known to be carcinogenic from the beginning, although that was kept quiet for decades.
I ran this scenario for some friends that were new to CoC on Roll20 a few months ago...we all loved it and they were hooked...we've been playing near every week since then. I dove-tailed this scenario with "The Haunting" when they went to Boston to try and learn more about Marion Allen's Uncle....great fun
Fun scenario. One thing though, 5% isn’t one-fifth; 20% is one-fifth. I don’t know if this would have made a difference for Lois’ sanity loss near the end (because I wasn’t tracking her total) but just for future reference...
I was debating buying the Call of Cthulhu 40th anniversary bundle for Roll20 and this sold me. Are the Syrinscape sound effects part of that bundle, or do you have to add that separately?
I think so, but it makes sense from a streaming standpoint. I love this module, but it does have some serious heavy reading involved, so it looks like the Keeper trimmed it down to the essentials.
Lois: “Thanks Einstein.” at that time Albert Einstein would’ve been about 40 years old, still living in Germany, and probably not famous enough to be used as a household term. But, I like the way she thinks.
Well he did get the Nobel Prize in 1921 for research in his 1905 Photoelectric Effect paper, and 1919 confirmation of his General Theory of Relativity gained him general popularity. The scenario usually takes place in 1923.
Very well done adventure and excellent GM'ing. Three good looking men for the gals and two good looking gals for us guys. Eye candy RPing all the way around.
A little late, but: "Asbestos use dates back at least 4,500 years, " "Researchers first discovered the link between asbestos exposure and cancer in 1934. The warnings for this risk of cancer relative to asbestos would not come until 1942. " The more you know......😁
Seems like there are some rules being fudged or completely missed by the keeper, who I assume works on the game...does the starter set scenario not use all the rules?
I know I'm late to the reply, but not only the Starter Set has simpler rules, it also is important to keep the story and session moving. At times you will find keepers/DMs looking past a few things, just so that there is a more cohesive flow in the session. This scenario was supposed to last for 3 sessions so I'm guessing that allot had been rushed, to be able to do it on a single session.
I think it's hilarious that every is getting the pronunciation of Becca's character's name wrong. It's "KAY-ko" rhymes with hay. Not "KEE-ko". That would be spelled Kiko which isn't a name.
It seemed totally fine for me. I enjoyed the cast and the Keepers voice is perfect. I'm sorry Oliver, I wasnt partial to the whole Book Salesman thing but I appreciate how involved you stayed and attempted to use every skill when it seemed possible.
Running this tonight as a birthday gift for one of the players, wish me luck
How'd it go

I really like the cast. Would be great to see them back.
This video deserves more likes!, awesome game, awesome cast, awesome keeper!

I'm a big fan of Becca's "The Calyx" show.
Love it ! Good to see Becca(love her Calyx show) and Cynthia. Thank you.

Great stuff. Thanks for performing and posting.
Great Keeper and amazing cast
Awesome to watch this good of a cast. Hope more people watch these.

Oh my, its Nelli G. The FABULOUS Toreador 😍
Good Time Society (Becca's channel) ran this same scenario about a year ago as well
This is so good! Terrific gm and pc rp. ❤ I’m a new keeper and am loving the system so far.
I really liked the music! Any details regarding the Syrinscape themes/moods used?
I wonder if Keiko knows Dr. Peterson Langley

42:55 Wait, is this like a haunted version of Stardew Valley?
:D
37:30 That one awkward moment 😅
Keith would've enjoyed this (begrudgingly)
Lois was so sassy!
I only see the students pregens in the beginner box. Where could I get the book keeper and FBI agent sheets from?
Those were probably created by their players
was the ruperts notebook left out of this

@@Sabretooth7777 yeah seemed to flow better to be honest

The FBI was the BOI prior to 1935. Usually in the scenarios I run the Feds would be "Treasury Agents"
How on earth did a switchblade do 11 damage?
I mean guns can possibly do damage in the 20's and blades are quite dangerous so its kinda believable.
From looking at the pre-gen character sheets, Lois has a +1d4 bonus
Music too loud, player voices too low.
One cent in 1920 = about 16 cents in 2024

In the starter set are simpele rules, to make a easy start to play the game for new players and keepers

😂
Cool session. It really felt like Cynthia didn't like Patrick very much though.
I feel like using roll20 and maps really detracts from the horror and immersion of CoC
Uneven audio levels again makes this barely watchable. It's too bad because the cast is awesome.
Try listening to it through a bluetooth speaker.

To me the volume of the keeper is a little bit too quiet, but it's not that it is unwatchable at all.
All sounds good to me. Well told story thanks.
I use a Chrome/Edge browser extension called Audio Channel from nim extensions, it adds a compressor to the audio that helps with uneven audio
Lois Russo, trying to steal should have been a sleight of hand, not a fighting or brawl roll.
Keiko’s voice is a bit too, seductive… idk just an observation, maybe it’s a turn on for others.
No need to put pronouns. So lame
I wish that at least one of them had said No to participating in that particular game.
Lul who cares
