  • The 2023 Corvette C8 Z06 is the most powerful naturally aspirated production car ever production. The flat plane crank V8 engine produces 670hp and 460 lb-ft of torque with a redline of over 8,500 RPM's. How does this stack up to the regular C8 Z51? Well, because they are based upon the same generation of Corvette they aren't so much different that its an entirely different feeling but they are different enough that they do drive much differently. The regular C8 still offers a tremendous value and is still incredibly capable but if you are looking for additional performance the Z06 is the way to go. When compared to the competition, both cars offer great value. With the upcoming C8 E-Ray bringing electrification to the Corvette brand it will be interesting to see over the next few years the wide variety of offerings the Corvette brand has for enthusiasts.

      @Cars Made Simple yeah if they raced them with actual times. It is over a $30000 difference between these cars and honestly I am not seeing that much of a performance difference between the two.

      C8 z06 10.05@142 mph in Florida on stock tires c8 z51 11.43@119 in Florida also stock tires on same day test and tune. To me that’s a pretty damn big difference.

      👆🏾that’s true the numbers don’t lie… but what about 0-60 for the 30k difference which is more realistic for regular driving? C8 z51 is actually QUICKER due to higher torque ratio off the dig... I Love both tho.

      @lt1z350 where are u getting your information from? 2.6 seconds in the 0 to 60 and 10.6 seconds in the quarter. And that's with the Z07 package. 10.05 is completely wrong. Also the regular C8 is doing the quarter at 11.2 or 11.1.

    Big corvette guy here and i want to just knit pick at 2 things said that isnt exactly true. 1) the z06 (especially with the z07 package, which one in the video didnt have) does very much cost supercar price when you consider the mark ups in 2024 being put on ALL corvette except base models with limited options. All e-ray, z06, and z51's are so marked up in some states that they start to be comparible to other cars like amg gt, carrera s, and even nsx if u can find one lightly used. 2) saying the z06 is the most technologically advanced is also not true. The e-ray with its hybrid powertrain, awd, and mildly more sophisticated suspension for ride quality make it the more technologically advanced. At least until the zora or zR1 arrives next year. Also wouldve loved to see a drag race just to have a more visual representation of EXACTLY how much faster the z06 is than the z51

      I just bought one MSRP, so this is NOT true. Only if you have a greedy dealer. No idea how you can make a blanket statement like "ALL" have markups, because they most certainly do not

    The Z06 makes all its 460 torque at 7600. The C8 makes all it 470 torque at 4500. So the C8 will feel faster on the street. As a matter of fact a lot of owners have stated how sluggish the FPC engine feels on the street. Something I was concerned about. So I got my $5000 deposit #285 back from Ciocca last February. The 2023 C8 HTC with Borla exhaust is my choice. Now I have an extra $55K invested and earning interest at 5.95%

    Reasons to get a C8 Stingray over Z06:
    .Looks almost exactly the same. Z06 actually looks bit strange from the front not sure what it is, I have seen the car in person as well. It’s bit wider from the back but Stingray seems to have the better looking front fascia.
    .Interior is also pretty much the same.
    .90% of owners will not track their Z06.
    .Many people prefer the rumble V8 sound over the Flat Plane Crank.
    .Reliability of Z06 due to FPC doesn’t seem that good as news of engine failures have started to pop up.
    .Stingray already does 0 to 60 in 2.9 seconds, some people have gotten even less than that.
    .Can always supercharge a C8 for those looking for extra performance
    .Can easily get the Stingray at MSRP in 6 months or less now from big dealers like MacMulkin.
    So, why spend extra 40-50K? Btw, Great video!

      Okay, so reasons to get a Z06:
      • Most of the body panels on the car compared to the Stingray are entirely different. The entire car is 3.6 inches wider, and is nearly the same width as the C8.R race car.
      • You’re getting the same engine that is used in the race car, in the Z06, but with more power. There have only been a handful of LT6 engine failures, versus the vast majority of owners who haven’t had a problem.
      • The Z06 is/will be a more rare car, especially if you get a Z07, and will thus maintain its long term value.
      • Plenty of owners will and have tracked their Zs, and future owners that do will get an experience and performance that the Stingray simply cannot offer.
      • You’re literally getting the most powerful naturally aspirated production engine ever made with the Z06, which makes it a much more special car.
      • Z07 equipped cars will look even more different, and offer performance that widens the gap even further over a Stingray.
      • Many people prefer the sound of the flatplane crank engine in the Z06 over the pushrod V8 in the Stingray.
      •40-50K more gives you far greater performance everywhere, a more exotic engine, better looks imo, more carbon fiber, more power, more aero, and greater rarity.
      The Stingray is a *fantastic* car, and always will be. But, it obviously won’t be in the same category as the Z06.

      Now more than ever though, the z06 truly has differentiated from from a regular stingray. It has an exotic engine and doesn’t share not 1 single component with the stingray engine. The z06 is actually proving it’s reliability really well. One owner on youtube has over 15,000 miles on it and drives hard. The few engine failures we have seen are due to people now properly following the suggested break in procedure. In addition, with any brand new engine development in production there are 1 to 2 fault ones. Overall over 99% are successful. This engine is based off the 2019 c8R and has been in development for years. Along with the incredible handling capabilities, it truly is a supercar now competing with the gt3, hence the lap times. It beats most supercars on a few tracks already.
      Is it worth a mark up? Probably not. But im getting one for MSRP at macmulkin when my allocation is up next year and its the best bang for buck if you know what you are getting and use it to its full advantage. If you’re an average joe, definitely save the money and go for a stingray. This is a stiff riding, louder, hardcore track car.

      @@TheilliterateLibrarian Well said! The Z07 is as fast, or in some cases slightly faster than the likes of the GT2 RS, GT3 RS, McLaren 765LT, and Ford GT. Hell, it was just 3 tenths behind a Senna at one track. It’s an insane car that competes at a much higher level than the already wonderful Stingray.
      If you want a fantastic Swiss Army knife, get the Stingray. If you want the *knife* only, or scalpel, absolutely get the Z06.

When i see videos saying the z06 is not worth it i cant help but assume the person does not know what this z06 is about and capable of. Its a track weapon and sounds killer. But well said analogy. Spot on!

      @@danieldickerson4838 I agree about the long term value due to the unique engine and sure it might be bit rare but the average joe wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between the two, lot of reviewers have mentioned the same thing and you can always supercharge a C8 to match the performance but again, most people won’t bother since they won’t track it and even make it wider too just like the Z06. But Most importantly, the waitlist is so long to get it at MSRP and with dealers charging 50-100K markup, it’s a no brainer to go for the Stingray instead.

      Be the first to compare a Civic Sport Touring Hatchback (not SI) to the Integra A-Spec with Tech Package.
      A lot of car reviewer UA-camrs seem to not be allowed to compare those models. Rather they compare the Integra A-Spec with Tech Package to the civic SI. The Sport Touring Hatchback might paint a fuller picture.
