@@joeymusicwe're waiting:)
Let’s go boiO
@@joeymusicits timeeee
Any questions? @@joeymusic
issues mentioned lfg
but seriously at least knowing the basics of synth programming is essential for making metal nowadays, and I'm glad people are talking about it as part of a producer's toolkit
Issues was one of my fav bands man
-Miami
Miami you never miss, this was super insightful!
So glad you liked it brotha! This one was for the homies lol
-Miami
finally a video ive been waiting for, this is a subject we dont have enough documentation on. im glad i was pretty close though with trying different distortions and reverbs. as long as you find a good base sound.
I’m glad everyone’s loving this one! I had a ton of fun making it
-Miami
As quite a few people have already said, a video that i was looking for for a while. Great explanation!
Really cool video. That’s then stuff I’m looking into mostly currently so thanks for doing that. Please do more of these and some Bad Omens sounds! Don’t wanna be rude or anything but I also think you should check October Ends, their producer / singer Nick Thurl Mavromatis has a UA-cam channel and he’s probably the best sound designer for that kind of sound design I’ve come across. He’s also using Serum just like Jordan Fish
Bad Omens is sick. Zak Cervini is amazing but not sure if it’s Noah who’s doing the sound design. They are the reason I actually came across Nick Mavromatis and October Ends, I was looking on how to get those synth sounds and I gotta agree Nick is arguably the best at recreating that sound plus Mock Gordon style synths
Gotta agree here. Was excited about this video but the quality of these sounds made here just isn't right. Would also suggest everyone to check out Nick Mavromatis videos on synths creation and sound design. Edit: maybe actually get him for an episode or a masterclass or something

literally was rippng my hair out trying to make and understand how to make synths last night. just what i needed. thanks. Miami, I would love to constantly watch videos of you where you make a riff verse or chorus and show us how to build them peice by peice, drums, guitars, synths, vocals. just like 30-60 seconds/song piece building.
Dude that's inspiration for me... I'd love to do that! I'll add it to my idea list
-Miami
I would love to see more!! Issues is one of my favorites and would love to see some stuff unbundled from them
I called Scout to do a cameo on this lol but he was busy
-Miami
Amazing stuff dude very impressive 🎉
To anyone who feels like designing the sound is daunting, you can easily use any synth VST preset you think might sound cool (IE a pluck or a piano), and then run it through your saturator and play with the settings to make it your own. I have been doing this for a while now.
Solid Video my guy , like always 😎💫
we workin

Love the fact that I can watch this video without needing a subscription lol. Nice vid, Miami!
one of my FAVORITE bands from childhood, Between the Buried and Me, uses synths and thats what makes me love their music so much, not only can they be super heavy they add in some GREAT synths in their music. I like the synth in their song The Grid and the song Extremophile Elite. Awesome synth use in that band
I did not expect you do Linkin Park material!🙏
Love the camera quality.
Man, I haven’t used sylenth1 in forever. One of the GOATS.
That was one of the most efficient "KISS" videos I've seen. Don't overthink it. Decent base sound, bit of saturation, EQ, reverb and delay. Done.
Ooo old school Massive, takes me back
Normandie as well :)
Just the vid I wanted!
More on the way!

Miami, thx for another grat video. One thing, I think, was missing, though, namely synth bass distortion. Especially the type you can hear in the song "Invisible Hand" by Crosses. I'm in love with that sound and managed to come up with a similar one byt not as good. Any ideas how to achieve this sort of a fat, long-wave distortion?
Love this
Can you do more of it like the pads of architects?
Great video man! Do you think you guys can make a video on how to get those numbers metal dj scratches in your music when youre not a dj and dont have a real turntable?
Definitely! I’ll add it to the queue
-Miami
@@joeymusic thank you!!
I like Reaper bro thanks for the tutorial 🎉🎉🎉
When you think about it electric guitars without effects don't sound very interesting but with effects they can soud like anything. Some distortion, filters, EQ and you have variety of sounds. It's not surprising metal bands would shape a sound this way. Most of the sounds I ever made started as super saw or puls. Than the rest is filters and EQ and than delay and reverb as desired. People get caught up in loading thousands of wave shapes. But in the end it's all stocked up sine waves.
what about some pads? i always wondered how loathe is creating these beautiful sounds!
That Sleep Token sound at the end sounded more like a clavichord to me. They do have that plucked sound more so than the harpsichord.
I’ll go back and mess with it and see! Thnx for the tip
-Miami
Hell yes
I had a ton of fun with this one
-Miami
I wonder if I could do a metal song in bandlab not using a metal guitar but using your advice.
Can you do gltitch fx in metal? Like the synths in Can You Feel My Heart by Bring me the horizon? Or black hole by we came as romans
Yup sure can! Might be a few months but I gotchu
-Miami
Where'd you get the harpsichords in analog lab? I got analog lab V (now named pro I guess?), but can't find the harpsicords. That an extra pack or something maybe?
It's not an extra pack! It comes standard
-Miami
@@joeymusicDo you have other arturia synths? I think analog lab also loads presets of those, so that could be why it shows in yours but not mine I guess?
We don't talk about distortion OR synths enough
Also where TF is sandstorm
We’re gonna START talking about it tho, less goooo
-Miami
You should cover Electric Callboy for sure
Cover a song or cover how they do their synths?
-Miami
Did you use ADR? I feel like this is not that lav we're hearing lol
Some Nine Inch Nails stuff next?
Omg it's steve-o if he was black
Llevo 4 años haciendo tutoríales en mi canal y el crecimiento es ridículo la verdad
Distortion on the voiceover - please don’t run that back.
noted
-Miami
My favourite metal bands don't use synths.
Who are your fav metal bands?
@@joeymusic SOD, Insect Warfare, Shikabane.
There's a lot of metal bands that I really like, but only a few or one album. Bolt Thrower, Terrorizer, Eyehategod and Celtic Frost come to mind.
I like Angel Hair and His Hero Is Gone a lot, but they're not really close enough to metal to count.
Basically simple, grimy and gloomy stuff.
ok then dont watch ig?
Okay cool bro so why did you click on this video?
My favourite bands do, hence why I'm here...
