Back in 2012 I was blown away by his album Blak and Blu (not misspelling this ) 😊 Best contemporary bluesrock I heard! Keep up the good taste ! Greets from Belgium
Absolutely love Gary Clark Jr.! One of the best blues performers out there, one of my favorites!! So proud of you baby-girl, your actually the first reactor that has reacted to him... that I've found! he has so many great hits! Notice the 2 drummers?
To answer your question, this was at the Eric Clapton Crossroads Guitar Festival. He does this every few years, and everyone seems to bring their "A-game."
I love watching the Crossroads Festivals. Gary Clark here EXPLODED onto the world scene after this performance. I'm pretty sure it was this same festival that I discovered that John Mayer is damned liar is a damned good Blues singer/guitarist...
Doyle Bramhall II is playing with Gary on this one. He is a phenomenal solo artist as well. I'm confident you'd love him. His father was a close friend of and collaborated with Stevie Ray Vaughan.
Gary is really great BUT that's Doyle Bramhall II on stage!! I grew up on FM radio, same shit still being played...but the internet opened up a galaxy of new music and artists to me.. THANK YOU ALGORE!
I've not even watched it yet. I've liked it. His version of this song is so damn dirty, and grungy, and bluesy. It just reaches down into you and grabs a hold of your soul.
This Crossroads performance was also the one that exploded him onto the world scene. I love Clapton's Crossroads events. You can look some of them up on youtube. Just massive Blues and Jazz festivals. You get the legends, current artists, up and comers, all coming out to perform together.
I love what you are doing on your channel.. Keep it up! One note, your voice volume is considerably lower than the track volume on this video. It makes it somewhat difficult to watch. I would respectfully suggest paying closer attention to your levels going forward.
One of the great players in the business, Doyle Bramhall on 2nd guitar also a great guitarist.... looks like Doyle may have been having sound problems at the beginning of the song.
Gary Clark Jr. deserves way more respect and renown than he gets. Dude is a beast on the guitar and the voice is killer

Wow Gary just got a new fan. Thanks for this one. Much Love❤❤❤

Sooo under rated. He's like Prince if he was born in the south and stuck to blues.

Probably my favorite modern Blues artists... actually discovered him from one of my favorite movies "Chef", where he makes a cameo.
Oh man, I forgot about this guy; what a great talent. Great request Rick! I'm going to now try to find something new from Clark.

This is taken from Eric Clapton's CROSSROADS festival about 10 years ago.

Stone cold!
Yes, make it plain...time to improve...thank you.😊
