Thanks for stopping by to watch my first bivvy camp, can anyone recommend a slightly bigger bivvy bag? I really enjoyed my first camp but found the Alpkit Hunka bag a little on the small side ... any suggestions would be fantastic 😎
Spectacular! That weren't no 'divvy bivvy" - loved it Stu. The food bag was great fun! Reminded me of watching Playschool!! 🤣 So amusing seeing what emerged and guess the sell by date!! Deffo need a coffee cake from Beck!🧁 I could not cope walking in the heat either. Deffo a spring or autumn season for me. Next time take all your sky at night gear too and show us those stars 🌟 Looked so peaceful and, as always, loved the drone footage. PS are those new walking trousers? Great video Stu.
My favourite season for wild camping? None of them. 😅 Loved this video, think you’re crazy without a tent though - imagine all the creepy crawlies that ran across your face whilst you slept… 🪲 Oh… and make your own blooming cakes! 🙄😂
Hi Stuart. A cracking wild camp spot and a perfect night for bivvying! What a morning to wake up to as well👍 From your comment below about a more spacious bag...not sure if anyone has suggested trying a self inflating mat rather than the fully inflatable type? In my hooped bivvi I use a 3cm semi inflatable and it leaves much more space to move around. Only downside is they are a little bulkier/heavier than a fully inflatable. Cheap and good R value for about £25 though! Excellent video👍 Enjoyed watching!
That's a great idea, will give a self inflating mat a try next time. I have a couple in my collection I could try 😊 Thanks for watching and leaving a comment, much appreciated 😁
Fantastic Stuart....only been to the Castles once but would like to go again, who would have thought a landslide would create such an amazing place...I now know what a bivvy camp is now friend, and my favourite season for camping is...NONE😂....did like the idea of the stars overhead though.....I loved the gentle hint to the cake makers and when you got the jelly babies out that is my vice, but I have usually eaten them all by the time I have arrived somewhere on a walk...My missus hides them in her rucksack now when we go walking....Walk, drone and camp totally enjoyed, thanks for another great vid....Cheers Lez.
It was my first time at the Castles but it didn't disappoint, hopefully next time I will have some home made cake to go along with my Jelly babies! Thanks for watching, really appreciate it Lez 😁
@@StuartThow only tested one out in the garden once. Dunno if I’m sold yet. Can see why your thinking a slightly bigger one. The rab one looks a touch more space in it
Yeah I've had the Alpkit Hunka for a few years but never used it on its own before (just in the tent in winter), but with the sleeping mat inside it was a bit of a tight squeeze getting in 😂
😂 The lack of cake was a disappointment! Hopefully next time Beck feels sorry for me and makes a nice big coffee cake 😎... I think I will peobably end up with a Mr Kipling 😂😂😂

Maybe the Outdoor Research Helium?
Thanks Kev, will deffo check that one out 👍
Brilliant video Stuart. You chose a great spot there, overlooking the tower. Also, that cloud inversion in the morning was pretty spectacular to see.
Thanks Hengist 😁 Yeah it was a pretty good spot for my first ever bivvy camp, the cloud inversion in the morning was a nice bonus 😁
Such a unique and gorgeous scenery my friend. Music is simply majestic! 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks for watching and leaving a comment, much appreciated 👍😁
Don’t mind me cheering at the tv because I get a shout out again 🎉🎉
Also this is my favourite video so far! The view is amazing!
Thanks 😁 Although shout outs are not free, I accept brownies or any cakes as payment 🤣
That’s amazing Charlotte 😅😂

Thanks Anne, good spotting ... new fancy hiking trousers 😂

One day I will get you out camping! Oh and be a good wifey and get baking 😂
@@StuartThow Yeah don’t mind me, I’ll get back in the kitchen 😂😂😂👩🏼🍳
You can take me camping… just not in the wild!
Beck those comment made me laugh!!
Nice one Stu. Yeah I hate summer. Much prefer autumn/winter. I might try a bivi one day. Still I’d be worrying about flesh eating zombies and stuff🤣
Good to know I'm not the only one 😁 I was a little worried about waking up with slugs all over my face 🤣🤣🤣

@@StuartThow My pleasure thanks Stuart👍
Great vid mate 😊
Thanks for watching 😁
Lovely spot for it. I've got the EV 200 bag and its my go-to 2 season bag at the moment. Relaxing video as always.
Thanks Kev, yeah the EV 200 is a great 2 season bag... Budget friendly too! Thanks for watching, looking forward to watching your latest one later 👍
@@StuartThow I got it new for £28, great price as materials feel really nice.
Absolute bargain for such a good bag, think I picked mine up for about £30
Cracking video. Landed lucky with the weather Stu
Yeah 100%, weather wise it was pretty much perfect. Really enjoyed the bivvy, nice to do something a bit different now and again 😊

WHAT!!! No cake!!! I think you support crew need sacking. Fantastic views and very brave without a tent.
