I like your frank opinions about archery products and the business. I shoot an Elite Era. I watched the John Dudley video with Hoyt and it stated he left at the end of his contract. He emphasized how important it is to leave things on good terms. Who knows what is true when we watch people on social media/ video etc. This is what I do know personally, at TAC in Solitude Utah this year, I was struggling switching between two releases as the brands resulted in different anchor points. I went to the NockOn booth to look at the Silverback Mini and talked with Sharon, John Dudley's wife. She was helpful and grabbed him when I asked things she said he could better answer. John gave me at least a full hour of his time, shooting my bow with different releases and watching my form and anchor. Showing me how to use the Silverback and helped me feel pretty good using it so much so, I went out and shot an entire TAC course the next day with a back tension release for the first time and did NOT miss a target or lose an arrow. This was on his own time, away from other customers and vendors and not necessary. None of the other vendors were this helpful. So on a personal level I can say he gives his time to others who have nothing to give back to his media image.

Anyone who buys something because a celebrity"s face is attached to it, deserves to overpay. The sad part is, it's those peoples' idolizing and overpaying that drives the entire vicious circle. People are so willing to part with their money today. That's why we have $2000 cell phones.

IMO, JOE & CAM are not even in the same room as John with anything to do with archery. Those two have their own little niche of which little is related to archery. There’s no doubt whatsoever about that John’s knowledge and skill. PSE screwed up plain and simple. I’m betting it’s nothing more than a personality conflict with the owner now that Pete sold out a few years back.

@@jamietwigg5152Agreed. When it comes time for business and negotiating, companies change, and people change too. No telling what really went on behind the scenes. And to your other point, there are tons of weak-minded people out there, and that's what makes social media so influential. I'm hopping off the PSE train because it's been a downward spiral for them in a number of areas ever since Pete left, but I ain't going to Hoyt. Don't like their bows, and probably never will. We all know Dudley will be ok because he has a new contract, but I'm interested to see what happens to PSE moving forward. They have some work to do, separate from this John Dudley departure.

I have never bought a bow, arrows, release etc because of the influencer hype. I buy bows based on how I shot them. Not John, Levi, Tim, or any other prime time archer’s choices. Besides, any bow etc they would be using is not the same production piece of gear the regular customers receive. Joe, Cam( whoever he is) nor John product selection means exactly nothing to me and probably tens of thousands of other archers. I was using the Carter Wise Choice years before Dudley got Carter to whack off the third and fourth finger grip to create the Nockon two finger. I’ve shot the two finger and it’s nothing special at all IMO. IN fact, my two Wise Choice are much smoother, cleaner/ crisp and quieter. I did a little internal tweaking on mine by polishing better all the friction points of the parts. They literally break better than any other thumb I’ve compared them too. John’s use of Easton shafts etc. mean nothing to me.

Just like everything, and everyone else who has nothing but the best, and money isn’t an issue. ( “ Archery Elitists “ ) the rest of the regular “ Joe Shmukatelys “ of archery make do of what is available to the general masses, and shoot to the best of their abilities. The marketing ploy is nothing more than a fishing excursion geared for buyers willing to take their chances on gimmicks, or “ real results “. Either way, just because a celebrity endorses any product, doesn’t mean it’s “ The One “ product for anyone.
