It can be said now that CC is on the charts beating Diana, you can bet on Diana NOT giving up her spot when she knows she should. This is a selfish woman. She is selfish to all the players she supposedly supports. She is selfish against CC. She will stop the most sell of fan items. She will stop the money flowing into the WNBA. She will stop the world that wants to see CC. She wants her 6th gold medal. By some fate greatest than you or me can prevent that from happening and I pray that it does. She would go out in the blaze of hatred and selfishness greater than one could imagine. Could that fate be that CC plays for another country?

The strange part being the reason she was not selected, that just March 2024 Clark was one of 14 players and no other college players had an invitation, from the U.S. national team to the final training camp 2024 Summer Olympics. It was noted she was playing in the finals 2024 NCAA not able to make training camp. It was also noted she would be watched playing on her performance in the WNBA 2024, in helping determine its final 2024 Olympic roster. When not making the roster, the excuse was lack of international play but also not having experience playing with the senior national team. Then why the invitation when she had not left college. Being in the WNBA would give her more experience than would have not had. The lack of any international play I suggest someone did not do their homework for what I list below should have been more than enough even over half of the selected players in the roster.
    'Junior national team
Clark represented the United States at the 2017 FIBA Under-16 Women's Americas Championship in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She came off the bench and averaged 8.8 points per game, helping her team achieve a 5-0 record and win the gold medal.[170] Clark played at the 2019 FIBA Under-19 Women's Basketball World Cup in Bangkok, Thailand. In seven games, she averaged 5.3 points per game and won another gold medal, as her team finished with a 7-0 record.[171] Clark competed at the 2021 FIBA Under-19 Women's Basketball World Cup in Debrecen, Hungary and led the United States to the gold medal. She averaged a team-high 14.3 points, 5.6 assists, and 5.3 rebounds per game, was named Most Valuable Player and made the All-Tournament Team.[172]'

Not only was this an intentional snub to Clark, but, the way they waited til the last minute and gave it to Griner was just to rub it in the faces of all the white and Christian and straight fans. Just their way of saying f*ck you. We don't need you. This may be the final straw for the wnba. American women's basketball team won 7 gold medals in a row and the only reason anybody knows this is the Clark controversy. So after they win an 8th Medal nobody will know about, after the excitement of Clark wains; the viewership will go back down and by the time four more years goes by for Clark(and Reese) to hit the Olympics it will likely be too late. What a shame. All because women just have to be c*nty.

      Mitchell
She's playing great with the ball, however, off the ball...
      She isn't supporting CC enough
Making the correct runs when CC is doubled up with defenders
That's an important role for her since she is the escape plan
I do think Sides is the problem still imo

But there's things she is doing still that makes no sense
I like she has gotten on top of screening a bit
That will keep improving I'm sure
But still seeing bad quarters with bad choices by her
She still isn't letting CC run the court from the back
And she does need to talk with Mitchell, about her off ball positions and runs
Still, could be a lot worse

@@troybody6662 The media couldn't, because you never know who the system disruptor is going to be. Not to mention, Caitlin Clark was a collegiate prodigy and broke the all-time NCAA scoring record, men's or women's. Now let's look back in history. Going to back to Larry Bird, whenever you have had a sport dominated by one race or ethnic group, the one who has changed the paradigm and expanded the fan base (and the financial base) has been the outlier of some other race or group. Bird in the NBA. Tiger Woods in golf. The Williams sisters in tennis. None of them have turned out to be a real leading edge. They were just the talented outliers. Outliers are what does it. Even Wayne Gretzky, as a man of Slavic descent, was somewhat of an outlier in the NFL, and look what he did for the game.
It's just the way of the world, and it is probably the imagination of the masses that creates it, not the media. Professional athletes play for money. They should welcome the paradigm shift if it brings in more money.
Nevertheless, although Clark is already a good player, she is not yet one of the top 12 American women in the game of basketball. The only place where she never misses a three is on UA-cam. She will be one of the greatest women to ever play the game. She was perhaps the greatest collegiate player ever in the women's game. Collegiate greatness does not mean instant greatness on the next level. She's what? Maybe 15th in the league in scoring right now? Your Olympic team isn't made up of all scorers. Or all playmakers. You need a front line too. And top defenders. There are no automatics in international competition. Even in the men's game, America has to send its best. Or lose.

I love all the record cc3 is setting but the Olympic controversy is wearing her out I think. I don't want her talking about it anymore she's talked about it for hours to the media it's ridiculous. The black and white lesbian Mafia was never going to let her on the main Olympic team. But why the hell wasn't she the best shooter in terms of distance in the history of women's basketball added to the 3X3 Olympic team? Clark is much better than all the players on that team especially her good friend HVL. Clark put up 82 points on Hailey in the last two elite eight games in college. 41 in each game and they put Hailey on the team and not Caitlin? It's politics man. And Clark is also the best passer in women's basketball. Now the super talented rookie Cameron Brink is injured and they have to replace her on the 3X3 Olympic team. They will not choose Clark I guarantee it. I also heard yesterday that sponsors are pulling out like 60 million worth of advertising from the women's basketball Olympics because of not putting Clark on the team. Can you imagine how stupid the business people are in the W and on the Olympic committee? Basketball around the world got built for the men after the 92 dream team with Michael Jordan and all those great players. You can't do the same and have cc3 played 10 minutes a game? If Diana Taurasi's stats were good enough to get her into the Olympics her Rookie year, than Caitlins are as well.
    ▪ Points per Game: Clark (16.1), Taurasi '04 (17.0), Taurasi '24 (16.9)
    ▪ Rebounds per Game: Clark (5.1), Taurasi '04 (4.4), Taurasi '24 (5.0)

    ▪ Steals per Game: Clark (1.3), Taurasi '04 (1.3), Taurasi '24 (0.5)
    ▪ Blocks per Game: Clark (1.0), Taurasi '04 (0.6), Taurasi '24 (0.2)

    ▪ 3-Point Shooting Percentage: Clark (32.8%), Taurasi '04 (33.3%), Taurasi '24 (31.7%)
Then and now - Caitlin is dominating Taurasi in almost every major statistical categories. I put in the turnovers as Diana's are pretty high considering she isn't getting the most defensive coverage statistically in the league then or now.

  • @momosgarage
    @momosgarage 5 місяців тому +3

I’ve said it a million times, WNBA employees and some higher level stakeholders are colluding to deliberately injure her, either physically or mentally.
No one is advising her in this way, but honestly, she should be looking for an exist that meets her existing endorsement deals and contract language. This situation has gotten so out of control, it’s reached a point where Wilson, Nike, Gatorade, State Farm, and Goldman Sachs now need to get involved and exert some real behind the scenes pressure on the WNBA (i.e. financial threats).
I really think she’s at risk of having a career ending injury at this point because of what league employees are doing to her, not discounting the possibility of her experiencing the celebrity PTSD that child TV stars used to get, and in turn, never wanting to play ever again.
WNBA management and the Players Union does not want another “Michael Jordan” telling coaches, GMs and owners, who she wants on the team and what plays to run. Nor do they want a “Wilt Chamberlain” rookie year, who at the time, broke eight NBA records in his first season.
League leadership and the players union are terrified that this kids performance has a possibility of unmasking their poor management of the league. For example, what if the ratings tanked, after signing this huge new media deal, due to some unpredictable action, good or bad, taken by Caitlin (i.e. leaving the USA to play overseas)?
Not only are some of Diana Taurasi’s records at stake, in the long run, what happens if a Rookie beats the 53-points WNBA scoring record? The WNBA and Players Union don’t want any of these things to even be remotely on the table
This paradoxical behavior and language is, in my opinion, the “players union” trying to “put Caitlin in her place” behind the scenes. A lot of the WNBAs top players have mothers, who were NCAA stars before the creation of the WNBA and have jobs in that community. They are protecting their legacies at the expense of the league’s popularity and revenue growth. At the end of her 4 year contract Caitlin should go overseas or quit basketball. All this emotional abuse isn’t worth it.
Why do we keep hearing, the “know your history” statement, which is not a “customer service” focused statement?
I feel like there is a MAJOR consumer choice issue going on here. The WNBA is seemingly telling its customers that they will not, under any circumstances, let fans dictate who is popular and who’s name sells the most product.
She’s so good, even with bullying, both on and off the court, they have to start rigging the outcome. The analytics group has figured out how to make her look bad, and on orders from the top, the coach and GM will sideline her when commanded to do so.
When her WNBA contact is up, she can go to FIBA, get fast tracked for naturalization in whatever county she qualifies, and then play in the Olympics for that country. Young Boomers and Old Gen Xers are trying to “pick winners”, in defiance of the evidence, and trying to tell the market what they are allowed buy.
I stand by my previous statement, the “players union” is trying to “put Caitlin in her place” and are pressuring traditional media outlets, refs, players and GMs to bully her because they have already made “informal promises” to others and she is getting in the way.
Only the sponsors and product manufacturers can reverse this. Otherwise she should plan to go to Europe at the end of her contract because this will not stop until she is injured or too traumatized to perform at a high level.
They are forgetting, she doesn’t have to stay in the USA and once her WNBA contract is up, pending on her endorsement deals, can leave forever. None of these things work the way the WNBA “management class” seems to believe.

No one thought the NFL would eventually allow a merger. Some big $$$ people could entice many players to start a new league and leave the WNBA and their ungrateful type to wonder what happened.

In an office setting, the reception CC has received would constitute a hostile working environment that is unacceptable and detrimental to the success of the business. Warnings and sanctions against offenders would normally follow. The Commissioner and the team owners need to give their players and coaching staff a serious attitude adjustment. They need to realize their behavior is pissing of the customers ie on whom their livelihood depends.. At the minimum, they must act professionally by competing at a high level in a sportsmanlike fashion. Those who can't get with the program will pay a financial price.

Caitlin is popular because she is a basketball phenom, and a great role model, whom everyone wants to see. She has a huge fan base to prove it. And by the way, it is diverse. When you go around the league and the opponent;'s fans are chanitng "We Want Caitlin", you know she has it going on. The media fails to show that part. However, this video sums it all up.

I think the biggest issue Clark haters are having is that, Clark's stats literally don't matter. She could be damn near the statistically worst player in the league and everyone would STILL want to watch her. What Clark actually does is pass the eye test. It's the same problem older NBA legends have being compared to modern players. When Bill Russell and Wilt Chamberlain played, the limited footage we have of players from that era rarely passes the eye test. Part of that is the players, part of that is the understanding of the game has improved but maybe the biggest part of that is that the rules were literally different. Conversely, a lot of people look at today's parameter heavy, weak defense game and it just doesn't pass the eye test for them.
I think maybe we've learned that Men's Basketball is at its best when the game is about watching literal freak of nature humans driving to the hoop, while watching fantastic shooters make deep but softly contested shots just isn't that entertaining.
Meanwhile, perhaps we've learned that what people actually want to see from Women's Basketball is the exact opposite. People probably don't want to watch freak of nature women struggle to dunk or drive to the hoop. People probably want to watch athletic women make deep shots. I used to agree with freak of nature Shaquille O'Neal, that lowering the rim to improve post play would make the league more interesting... but now I think maybe the exact opposite would be better. Maybe they should widen the hoop and add a 4 point line.

This WNBA sabotage of Caitlin Clark is reminiscent of Professional Wrestling's WWE. There were pro wrestlers that became so popular with the fans that they became bigger than the brand and were able to dictate their own terms. Vince McMahon, the owner, decided that the WWE was not going to let this happen in the future and never promoted their wrestlers beyond a certain level of popularity. The WNBA does not want Caitlin's brand to become bigger than that of the league. And, considering how poor the reputation of the WNBA is, it doesn't take much to out shine the league. Hence why the league is trying to force feed Angel Reese down the fans' throats.

I'm about to turn 60. In my entire life I've had no interest in watching the WNBA, after having seen a few clips here and there. Felt like I was watching kids play. Now a couple decades have passed and a new breed of players are on the court. I'm noticing for the first time, because I caught wind of CC vids and started watching. I'm very impressed. And I'm seeing some of the other skills of her team mates, and those on other teams. But I'm also seeing the blatant hate. The cheap shots - what's her name obviously body checking CC, and if you read her lips, she's saying, "You B!tch" as she does it. Then Reese gives that @$$wipe her approval, laughing. This is what I'm supposed to watch??? And the clip of Reese, Miss "Hey, they're here to watch me too", going up for a layup and she double-dribbles twice. Ya, NO! She's a hack if she can't do a simple lay-up without being so clumsy.
So ya, I'm here to watch CC. And I'm noticing not only her skills, but her team mates as well. They're on my radar now. If the hate continues, and they drive off CC, I'll not be watching anymore. And those viewership numbers may well go farther down than they were before CC as everyone realizes that this league is full of hate, pettiness, and incompetent leadership.

I'm a big CC fan, but this video doesn't explore very deeply the process by which an Olympic squad is put together over several months, if not years. The records achieved by CC cited in the video are impressive but they are also all rookie records. She also wasn't able to attend the pre-selection camp where she could have gone head to head w the other players and won a spot outright if she was good enough rather than hoping to be given what would amount to an honorary spot. Clark will benefit greatly from the break in the schedule during this Olympics and I'd be surprised if she's not on the team for the 2028 games

To say Clark is not ready for the Olympics is a blatant cover for their most obvious resentment. When using the excuse “she doesn’t have enough experience yet”, just look at the list of others who played in the Olympics prior to their WNBA debut or on the next Olympics after their debut. The commenter is right - the rest of us are not so stupid or blind as those who selected this year's team.

    Before Their WNBA Career:
    1. Lisa Leslie
    Olympics: 1996 (Atlanta)
WNBA Debut: 1997 (Los Angeles Sparks)
    2. Sheryl Swoopes
    Olympics: 1996 (Atlanta)
    WNBA Debut: 1997 (Houston Comets)
    3. Dawn Staley
    Olympics: 1996 (Atlanta)
    WNBA Debut: 1999 (Charlotte Sting)
    After Their WNBA Debut:
    4. Sue Bird
    WNBA Debut: 2002 (Seattle Storm)
Olympics: 2004 (Athens), 2008 (Beijing), 2012 (London), 2016 (Rio de Janeiro), 2021 (Tokyo)
    5. Diana Taurasi
    WNBA Debut: 2004 (Phoenix Mercury)
Olympics: 2004 (Athens), 2008 (Beijing), 2012 (London), 2016 (Rio de Janeiro), 2021 (Tokyo)
    6. Candace Parker
WNBA Debut: 2008 (Los Angeles Sparks)
    Olympics: 2008 (Beijing), 2012 (London)
    7. Breanna Stewart
    WNBA Debut: 2016 (Seattle Storm)
Olympics: 2016 (Rio de Janeiro), 2021 (Tokyo)
    8. Elena Delle Donne
    WNBA Debut: 2013 (Chicago Sky)
    Olympics: 2016 (Rio de Janeiro)
    9. Tamika Catchings
    WNBA Debut: 2002 (Indiana Fever)
Olympics: 2004 (Athens), 2008 (Beijing), 2012 (London), 2016 (Rio de Janeiro)
    10. Sylvia Fowles
    WNBA Debut: 2008 (Chicago Sky)
Olympics: 2008 (Beijing), 2012 (London), 2016 (Rio de Janeiro), 2021 (Tokyo)
    11. Maya Moore
    WNBA Debut: 2011 (Minnesota Lynx)
Olympics: 2012 (London), 2016 (Rio de Janeiro)
The stupidity of the WNBA players and executives to not protect the Golden Goose (Clark), is a testament that they’d rather kill the best opportunity the WNBA has ever had to build a viable sport’s opportunity for ALL women, than share the glory with a straight, white rookie. Evil has no bounds.
    As Kelsey Plum once stated;
"We're not asking to pay what the men get paid," Plum told the show's hosts Jeff Tomastik, Lowell Raven, and Drew Belcher. "We're asking to get paid the same percentage of revenue shared."
Given that the WNBA loses over 10 million dollars EVERY year up till now, if you really wanted to share in the revenue, you and every other WNBA player would have to pay the league to play. Your revenue doesn’t even justify your career existence. Think about that when you continue to slay your best opportunity to become a revenue generating entity.

Sure seems like she’s holding her own in the WNBA -AND- putting up record breaking stats. You know, against the very same women who’ve won the last 7 straight Olympic gold medals and won the 2020 gold by a score of 90-75 against the host team. Playing international basketball is nothing new to Clark as she has years experience playing on the USA youth national team - the same experience that most of the other players on the 2024 Olympic roster had. This so-called lack of experience you suggest didn’t seem to be problematic for the other women on the list I provided, who had no more experience than Clark at their first Olympics. And none of that takes into account that one of the players on the roster just returned from an injury that kept her out for some time and another player who is still injured with an undetermined return date. How do you not take a fully healthy player against someone who’s been inactive for enough time as to be questionable for being ready at this level of play? Sorry - your argument is beyond flat.

Turnovers are a problem, but probably will never be low, because Caitlin is a high risk passer. She too often attempts a pass that needs to be nearly perfect just be good enough. She also tends to dribble into trouble and to pick up her dribble too soon. On the other hand, if Iowa could live with Clark committing 4.5 turnovers per game and make it to consecutive national championship games, the Fever can live with a similar number of turnovers going forward.

    on Aja Wilsons rhetorics...
it seems she want to force the people to like her as well as her fellow black players...
FYI...IT HAPPENED in MAYA MOORE..when both blacks and white likes her basketball skills...THAT IS ONE THING THAT YOU SHOULD DO...
But antagonizing Caitlin Clark will definitely put you down...as you already know...she has a magnetic personality...attracting viewrship of WNBA GAMES..
IF YOU GO AGAINTS CC..that wd mean..you will go againts her fans..both WHITE AND BLACK PEOPLE...AROUND THE WORLD.. not in USA only...

I personally am happy Clark is not going . France is in political turmoil and civil unrest. As always the Olympics will be a clear and present danger for terrorist . And considering Clarks notoriety, if there is a terroristic attack being planned, it would only put her and team USA in a highten positions of danger. They know everyone would be watching. So maybe the good Lord has kept this woman off the roster. I take it as a blessing

I don't watch the Aces after A'ja called me a racist. I won't give her accolades or even acknowledge her. I don't care how good she is. I'm not going to waste my time on someone like her.

You absolutely right, everything you're saying, where the fans know the truth, and the truth will set you free, the only reason because she was white, it's not her fault she was biologically born White, she's biologically a woman, she has a boyfriend, she's not gay, she's not ghetto, she's humble respectful, she is really good in basketball, and she's good because she work hard in practice, if you practicing, you're not going to just instantly learn skills and know how to do stuff just because you're a woman, she's not trying to just figure it out she putting in the work, she is the example of how a woman supposed to be, and that's why she has so many fans she's a real life superhero, I can't wait to her shoes come out, and her basketball comes out, and one more thing she is the richest rookie in the league, so you know all of the coaches all of the coaches is jealous cuz of that Caitlin Clark is real and her popularity is not going away, she is not a one-hit wonder, she's the real deal😊

The reason nobody watched wnba is it has no respect for the game, same as any other pro sport, you compete to see who best talent at the game, cc has made indiana very competitive in there game because 3 players trap cc , well 2 other places are wide open. Shoot 3s or get layup, so much players can learn off Caitlin, she is absolutely the best all around player of this 20th century, get some class ghetto ball players, it's not if you can break her legs , it's are you going to practice as hard as she did to become one of the best, love for the game with all you soul makes you achieve what no one before you has done, Jordan, James, bird, they all fed of great opponents, they proved who was great buy there dedicated time spent on being the best, still was congratulating there opponents after there games even if they lost.

Should she have been selected for the olympic team?? NO!!!!

The gay liberal women’s basketball association has been told and they knew before Clark came on the league was dying so if they can’t figure out if they try to remove her,she gets hurt and she’s gone so is the league. A basketball team doesn’t exist without fans inspectors watching it. and that will not exist without Clark what makes it worse. The fans would know that the league had something to do with her gone.We need a Michael Jordan and a Pete Maravich performance to make the game exciting and watch it🎉😊. And that’s exactly what we have with Clark.❤

@@jaylucas8352 You can resort to insults all you want while calling me names...but whatever. The size of the arena doesn't matter if she is so great then sell out. When the Aces play at the T Mobile Arena...they sell there as well and that is well over 20K. But then you are already convinced that CC is the greatest. After she wins a championship then real basketball fans will pay attention. CC is a marketing ploy...the second the likes of Juju Watkins hits the WNBA she will fade out and all you band wagon fans will jump on the Juju wagon. But all good resorting to insults...you are of no consequence to me.
