In the full piece, 60 Minutes gets it right, mostly. The segment with the WNBA league official (president?), wow, talk about a misdiagnosis. The growth of the W, from attendance to TV views to sponsorships, is 95% Caitlin, 5% the entire rest of the rookie class, 0% the rest of the league. Bird had Magic...Jordan was a unitary figure, much like Clark.
Yup. She brought 18 mil viewers from the NCAA finals in 2024 and 14 mil from the Iowa game against UConn. When the WNBA goes above a million viewers on any game (2.5 mil the last playoff game the Fever played this year) about 2/3s of it is Clark.
You're delusional like most of the white Clark fans. Angel Reese made Clark relevant when she defeated and humiliated her in the NCAA championship game.
Unique style of player. Always kind and speaks highly of others despite how they act or try hurt her. This is why we LOVE her. IOWA had the pleasure of watching this gem quietly for too long!
She has the greatest handle i've ever seen from a female hooper and i personally believe that's what makes her drastically better than her peers. When you can create space with your dribble, the game opens up soooooo much more. Yes she can shoot, and she can ABSOLUTELY pass.... but anyone who's ever played hoops knows, when you have your dribble at an elite level, EVERYTHING ELSE gets soo much easier. She doesn't waste dribbles .....
@@kingknights5107 so are the other female point guards…. Please explain your point ! Also, Marcus Smart, Patrick Beverly are “point guards” who DON’T have great handles , can’t really shoot and aren’t really great passers so again, please explain your point…… take all the time you need….
“Having good balance” most important part of shooting. anyone can knock down a jumper with enough practice, but to stay balanced while moving or off the dribble and be able to shoot any time is the real skill.
I have been watching Caitlin Clark first when she played in the final four in 2023 and have not stopped since. Just continually blown away by her outsized talent and just down to earth midwestern humility. What a role model she has become.
I just love watching her play, kept turning in to see what new move or pass she was going to pull, it really reminds me when I was small watching Larry and magic style of playing. Cameron’s entrance ❤️😍
You look at her games from after the Olympics, and she was by far the 2nd best player in all of the WNBA, behind A'ja Wilson... you could even argue the best, depending on how you rank play style and contributions. Phenomenal athlete, humble and a great role model for kids (for boys as well as girls)
We have never seen a bball player with the combo of insane 3 pt range, incredible passing ability and be so classy off the court. I have been a bball fan for a long time and she is already one of my favorites ever !! I feel like I was so spoiled getting to see her play for the last 9 of 11 months…April seems so far away….
Man, could this woman be any more classy or marketable? She is exactly what this league has needed for the last two decades. Can't wait to see what this gal and the Fever accomplish next season! Praise God
I’ll speak as an Indy resident- she’s electrified the city. My friends who work in hospitality downtown don’t see this draw for Pacers or Colts games. They have people every game traveling internationally. Signs around the city read WELCOME CAITLIN when she was drafted. There’s posters of her at the grocery stores. Never seen anything like it. Blessed we got her. Generational talent and classy human being and role-model.
No matter where she goes or what she does she is a pure champion. When you go out on the basketball court and hit three-point shots over and over, pass behind your back and do layups where no one can catch you, cutting right through the defense like it's nothing, then you are a true champion. Caitlin you're a true champion. As you get older never question the abilities that you had when you were younger, remember this paragraph, you brought a champion attitude with champion ball playing and you showed up.

Caitlin is the reason I started following women's basketball. Her style of hoop has "it," that nameless quality that draws you to her, game after game. And based on this 60 minutes segment, that quality certainly carries over to personality and charm.
Two seasons ago, I started watching the WNBA, but at first, it felt slow with too many missed shots, especially on what would be considered "easy buckets" by NBA standards. It made me wonder why I should keep watching when there are so many other sports to enjoy-NFL, NHL, NBA, G League, MLB, and even NCAA sports. But now, I've come to appreciate the pace and shooting precision of players like Caitlin Clark, Sabrina Ionescu, Kelsey Plum, and others. It feels like a great moment for the league, especially with rising stars like Caitlin Clark on the horizon. The WNBA needs to continue building on this momentum and avoid letting negativity or doubters within teams hold them back. If not, they risk sliding backward. After all, the NBA won’t continue absorbing financial losses forever.
I love rooting for the underdog. The WNBA has been the underdog league for the past several years. And the Indiana Fever were an underdog team within the league. Then they got a #1 draft pick and had the opportunity to get one of the greatest college players of all time from Iowa! Now I am enjoying watching the Indiana Fever every game and watching them grow as a team. It will be exciting to see what they do in the off-season to prep for 2025, and how much better thet are next year.

I just really admire and respect Caitlin Clark. I love that she puts in the work and even with all the pressure that has been put on her, she's pretty levelheaded.
I'm from Iowa and the respect, admiration, and love I have for CC#22 is just as big as her beautiful heart! ❤
We elsewhere throughout the US also claim bragging rights to this national icon. 😛
Phenomenal player, female or male. I'm surprised she didn't get hurt and glad for that. You go girl!!!❤
She’s the reason I went to my first basketball game ever
Me too
@samuelperez8860cool bro Lebron leader of TO mfs gon always hate
Love watching her form Fiji ❤
They’ll do anything but tell the truth about how it’s her impact.
You're delusional like most of the white Clark fans. Angel Reese made Clark relevant when she defeated and humiliated her in the NCAA championship game.
People would rather watch this 4 minute special on Caitlin Clark than any second the WNBA playoffs without Caitlin Clark
Caitlin and the other young stars make wnba so fun to watch! Great to see the game growing with more fans.
She's finally made the WNBA worth watching. She's made it more than a layup contest.
Thank you 60 Minutes, For First hand, True information.
Just simply the BEST! Clark the Future G.O.A.T! Watching fr.Philippines!
future? now?
Oy Philippines!!!! I watched her/fever games too even if it's 3am here in Philippines hehe.
Well she’s a point guard after all..
@@kingknights5107 so are the other female point guards…. Please explain your point ! Also, Marcus Smart, Patrick Beverly are “point guards” who DON’T have great handles , can’t really shoot and aren’t really great passers so again, please explain your point…… take all the time you need….
“Having good balance” most important part of shooting. anyone can knock down a jumper with enough practice, but to stay balanced while moving or off the dribble and be able to shoot any time is the real skill.
most exciting wnba player I've seen
I've been a fan since the 90's and I've seen hundreds of players better than Clark.
So proud of you Caitlin 💐 keep doing what you do. Can't wait to watch you next season❤
She’s so fun to eat watch. Such a unique talent. Maybe the best scorer and passer in the league as a rookie. Crazy
I have been watching Caitlin Clark first when she played in the final four in 2023 and have not stopped since. Just continually blown away by her outsized talent and just down to earth midwestern humility. What a role model she has become.
I wake up as early as 5am (Australian time) to watch Fever games. I'm getting my sleep back until next season.
I just love watching her play, kept turning in to see what new move or pass she was going to pull, it really reminds me when I was small watching Larry and magic style of playing. Cameron’s entrance ❤️😍
I have never watched the WNBA till Caitlin Clark, what an incredible athlete. Her skills are just so inspirational to watch.
I record all their games to get me through the off season, she is the W
Damn bro.
She has so much humility. Love HER!!❤❤❤❤❤
Man, could this woman be any more classy or marketable? She is exactly what this league has needed for the last two decades. Can't wait to see what this gal and the Fever accomplish next season! Praise God
She is phenomenal. Class act.
No one heard of the WNBA until she came along
Wow. I had no idea 60 minutes still existed.
Thanks CC.
She is AMAZING. ❤
The logo shot, still amaze me. CC ALWAYS AMAZED ME😊❤
She is literally glowing with hapinness. The league aint ready for year 2. The haters will have to come up with brand new excuses.
Love cc, was reluctant about this 60 minutes crap! Glad it didn’t get stupid like most of 60 minutes does these days!
I liked watching how well the Fever team played together. Through the highs and lows, they stayed grounded and spoke highly of each other.
I stopped watching the WNBA after she was eliminated from the playoffs.
Everyone did
The ratings for the playoffs crashed immediately after Caitlin was gone.
Ditto.
We all did.
You mean after she was cheated out of the playoffs.
No matter where she goes or what she does she is a pure champion. When you go out on the basketball court and hit three-point shots over and over, pass behind your back and do layups where no one can catch you, cutting right through the defense like it's nothing, then you are a true champion. Caitlin you're a true champion. As you get older never question the abilities that you had when you were younger, remember this paragraph, you brought a champion attitude with champion ball playing and you showed up.
loving her forms in the court passing, mid range, on the paint and quick release 3 pt 🔥🔥
So nice to see her in a planned high-quality segment, looking so well-groomed and nicely dressed ... just a beautiful young woman. Also nice to see her in a different venue; 60 Minutes?! Wow, didn't want to miss that. I'm going to watch it again. Loved it.
3:49 He just had to add that comment that few people really believe. It's the "Caitlin Effect" by any reasonable measurement.
I can care less about the best wmba players.🤡 she is the only reason I start. C.c win or lose i will be a fan!🇺🇸🇲🇽✊🏽
I bet she would denounce you as a fan if she read this😂 Cc hates you for not supporting WNBA as a whole. How do you feel about that?
@@Michaelgrx you just can’t help yourself. Throw out negativity
@@Michaelgrx sure , it’s called free will. You should try it.
She is quite humble and kind with perfection. Very beautiful inside and outside! Beyond that she is the greatest WNB player in the whole world 🌎!
I brought this culture of winning expectations to Iowa I'm glad I have made Caitlin for the world
The wnba season ended last Sunday when fever got eliminated. Thank you, CC, for an amazing season. I've never watch the wnba but because of you now I'm a big fan of the W. I'm from the big apple and my son and i traveled all the way to Vegas to watch you play. can't wait till next season.
Probably the first time in a decade I “liked” a 60 minutes clip.
C.C. continue to do your thang...on the court..many more accolades...keep being who you are..
An excellent passer and shooter with a soccer background who makes players around her better, Caitlin Clark really is the Steve Nash of the WNBA
Her millions of fans are inspired and entertained by her, and many of a certain age love her like a daughter and are fiercely protective of her.
CC brought me here! CC is the goat! CC been dropping those bangs!
I like her interviews as much as I like watching her play basketball.
Ditto. Literally brings tears to my eyes, when I see the hope for our society that she embodies.
@@samuelluria4744 Throughout my life, I came to believe there is no such thing as a perfect woman. Well, Lexi Hull proved me wrong, and I'm glad she did.
@@lewisvogel466 - She has such a genuine smile.
@@samuelluria4744 I agree
She gave the game umph. I went to one game years ago and was blown away how much it was great play.😊
Caitlin has a nice body. Never noticed before. 🤔
I also found it funny that the clip 60 minutes uploaded, at 1:10 shows Russell going out of their way to bump CC.
She’s such a cutie

most iowans are mostly or at least partly German decent. like 50 to 55% of all girls are blonde. some swedish and dutch in iowa too.
The most amazing basketball player to watch! Love watching basketball
now and before I never cared.
a logo 3 is extremely hard to make with consistency woman or man... that takes millions of hours to master.. there's only a few males that consistently hit from there
She shoots 34% from 3, which is average in the WNBA, but below average in the NBA. What are you even talking about??
What are you talking about? Whens the last time you shot a basketball 2 feet behind the 3-point line? In college she made that shot consistently in most games. It is incredibly difficult to do. The average person would maybe hit 1 out of 10 shots in practice. When shes practicing she can easily make 9 out of 10. She would destroy you in a basketball game. @ScottH.
@ScottH. Did you not see the word "logo" in his post? She shoots from a much greater distance than most players. Plus she frequently double-teamed when she's shooting.
@@ScottH. 👀...👀👀
@phillyphilly2095 I'm just stating facts. They only show the shots that go in for her, but she has a lot of very poor shooting games.
Healthy, Humble, Charitable, Team Wise Supportive Collaborator, Court General and Basketball IQ, Great Presences on Camera both Visual and Verbal, and we as fans could go on and on!!! One more Role Model for the Children!!!!!
❤ You mention CC & we're here for it! She's feminine, gifted, smart & the greatest bball player to ever step foot on the WNBA court. Her stats are 🔥. My favourite thing about CC is that she's showing female athletes that you dont need to pretend to be a man and that being a female and feminine is what the audiences have been craving for 20 years!! Come as you are .... yes, a female & we will celebrate you & support you as an athlete! Her stats & record sell out of jerseys, shirts & Wilson bballs are the receipts to back up what im saying. See you 2025 CC!!! ❤
Very humble and not taking all the credit. I watched WNBA because of CC22 and the Indiana Fever!
I bet 60 minute was only going to do a feature on her and she said no.....don't just make it about me....
Imagined i wake up 2 in the morning just to watch CC playing good basketball. The effect of CC is super real🔥
GOAT in the making
She just seems like a humble lady that works hard and smart, the hate on her is definitely unjustified, she just knew what to work on for it to work
Caitlin is the reason I started following women's basketball. Her style of hoop has "it," that nameless quality that draws you to her, game after game. And based on this 60 minutes segment, that quality certainly carries over to personality and charm.
Love this athlete... Caitlin Clark!
The NFL is really happy her season is over.
Wow. You're so right!😂
I'm a huge NFL fan, but I would watch CC over a football game.
I did just that - watch CC over NFL last Sunday. Now it’s back to football.
to think that the nfl has to worry about any other sport.
My favorite player ever CC22
I love rooting for the underdog. The WNBA has been the underdog league for the past several years. And the Indiana Fever were an underdog team within the league. Then they got a #1 draft pick and had the opportunity to get one of the greatest college players of all time from Iowa! Now I am enjoying watching the Indiana Fever every game and watching them grow as a team.
It will be exciting to see what they do in the off-season to prep for 2025, and how much better thet are next year.
