They did experiment with the cheese crawl under the show stage for a bit but it was never failed or removed for a specific reason. Just eventually ended up being phased out. No one got PTSD, it’s a serious mental struggle that comes from witnessing traumatic events like murders and sexual assaults, people did not get PTSD from crawling under the Chuck E Cheese animatronics 💀

    I love stuff like this.
Where Scott isn't just "the dev that's distantly making FNAF somewhere else", but constantly worried for the fans and wishing the best for them.
The fact he explained the thorough and difficult part of making a movie, the way he explained FNAF World's own impact on his prideful moment in his life, and even explaining WHY Security Breach ended up so divisive and messed up....
It makes him seem so much more human than anyone else I've ever seen or met on this platform or even in real life.
It's weird to find relatability with the creator of FNAF himself despite me being some random commenter, but I'm EXTREMELY proud of what's done and what he's gone through and what's Scott's like in this interview.
Also, just fun and epic stuff (even as small possibilities) overall in the future!
*FNAF World 2 COULD happen if Scott wants to in the future!*
Thank you Scott Cawthon! For everything! And a happy 10 years to this franchise!! :D

@@valentynar1143 I think he was going to reveal Mike as the bully & play into the Afton family, ending the story just as the rest of FNAF 4's final chapter tried to-- "four games, one story", about one family (Purple guy is William who is Springlocked, Mike Schmidt / every playable night guard is Michael who sacrifices himself as punishment for he & his family's sins, Crying Child is Bite Victim / Golden Freddy who is given his happiest day, Elizabeth who was already missing & forgotten during FNAF 4's events). To represent these themes he would use the Freddy cast plushies + Fredbear's surveillance plush, Michael's Foxy mask, the illusion discs of the Nightmares used to torment Michael, William's security badge & certificate of incorporation as a co-owner of Fazbear's, Elizabeth's Mangle toy pieces that accompany her empty room, and finally BV's recovered frontal lobe fragments and/or corpse. He keeps the Bite Victim's body for a Fazbear coverup story but also as a way to "put him back together" by stuffing him into Golden Freddy to trigger supernatural possession via Agony. After a seemingly unsuccessful possession when the suit only spring locks, he pulls out the pieces and gives up hope in reanimating his son without ever realizing that the process had been partly successful (Golden Freddy's "IT'S ME" in reference his brother Michael, interfering with the digital world by crashing the game / manifesting at will as a hallucination, having the power to trap Afton in a never-ending purgatory or personal Hell after being taken off life support out of his coma and killed by his father).
He changed his mind after the lore problems FNAF 4 added, went back to explore the Aftons & develop them through Sister Location immediately afterwards, and expanded upon them + the previous game in the surveillance room DLC. After Sister Location raised new questions, he again revisited the Aftons and put them back together to rest their souls in Pizza Sim (simultaneously expanding upon his connection to Freddy's with Midnight Motorist / Charlie's death, his relations with Michael, AND how possession works in-universe via Agony, which also explains William's transformation from a children's restauranteur family man to a tragedy-riddled children's captor & serial killer.
After continuing the story instead of ending it on FNAF 4, there was no need for this grand reveal. He already explored that path with Sister Location, SL's DLC, Pizza Sim, Security Breach, the books, etc. in a different way than he was going for in FNAF 4 so the box is no longer important. It was a plot point intended as the series' climax that was translated into one of many plot points to progress the story forwards, so the box ITSELF is best left forgotten, forever. It holds no new secrets and anything of interest was already transformed into parts of the series we have today.
TL;DR the box was a collection of memorabilia and sentimental items revealing that the story centers around the Afton family + the larger than life, downright supernatural tragedy they curated in both life and death. The box is now useless because it centered around FNAF's climactic resolution only for Scott to continue with the games out of dissatisfaction. From this continuation, big story beats & reveals gained from the box mean nothing as they were picked apart & renovated for big story beats & reveals gained in Sister Location, its DLC, Pizza Sim, Security Breach, and the book series (in Scott's own words, "the contents of the box changed over the years"-- this is how, new formulas & avenues to get the same idea across in new games, whilst replacing the old symbology & contents with new tales).

I didn't know FNAF until I watched the movie. To me, it was just a random movie going on when I went to the movies, and I decided to watch it. The energy in the room was insane. People were rooting, shouting, clapping, screaming in excitement at every little thing that happened on screen, referencing the games. They absolutely loved to see the yellow rabbit, they loved to see the original cast, they loved Balloon Boy, they loved everything. I've never watched a movie where the audience was so openly in love with the movie as they were first watching it.
And despite a few things I wish where more interesting in the movie itself, it set me on an exploratory journey to get to know the franchise as a whole, and today I have played all the original games by Scott and I adored it. FNAF is amazing, and the movie is a bloody success no matter what anyone has to say about it.

Hearing Scott being heartbroken at the bad reviews for the movie honestly made me tear up because that movie meant EVERYTHING to me when I watched it. Ive basically grown up on FNAF, it was my childhood treasure, and my little cousin and I have shared in that love for the franchise over the years. So we went to see it the day after it came out, completely blind, and buddy... you should have heard that tiny little theater erupt with passion whenever something was mentioned for the fans or whenever we saw our favorite youtubers, and the CREDITS SONG LMAOO
To put it into perspective, my little cousin and I sat in my car for about an hour just yapping about what a masterpiece it was.

Finally some relatable thoughts of the fnaf movie :)
Fnaf has been here for me almost my whole life. It means to me so extremely much. I remember that the day after the movie came out I just sat in the middle of the night, reading the reviews and it was literally one of my worst life experiences. I felt so bad for Scott after he said the thing about the reviews. And I feel a little bad for him even now as I read the comments saying that the fnaf movie was trash. It is my favorite movie of all time. I remember that like a day before the movie had its premiere in my country, my friends asked me if we wanted to go together to watch it. But soon I realized that I had a very little time the next day and it wasn’t truly possible to go watch it. But I still tried my best and somewhat managed to find some time. But then the friends just kinda invited ten people to their house, not caring that we were supposed to go watch a movie in half an hour and at one point it was too late to go watch it and they were like: well, we can go the other day? They didn’t really care how I felt after that. And it was a really bad feeling because I was so hyped all the day and after that I just cried (don’t judge pls). Then after a few days I finally found my time and went to watch it myself. All alone with no one else. And it was the best experience of my life. I quietly enjoyed the movie and I knew that it was right this way. Fnaf is life (idk if my comment was just a waste of time. Srry if it’s unrelated to the topic or something, I just tend to talk a lot one it comes to fnaf)

It doesn't matter what was or is inside the box, at this point it holds a clue to solve a story that was never carried forward. Some things are better left forgotten. I was one who found the fnaf franchise through the movie. As an author/ editor/ and lover of horror, I thought the movie was great! Then I started talking to my kids about the lore (I've always been a big Resident Evil fan). I started with watching Game Theory to get the timeline and some of the basics. Then I read the books (I read all the Goosebumps, Fear Street, Tales to Tell in the Dark, etc. when I was a kid). Some of the stories were what I expected, some didn't fit my tastes, and some I loved! I expanded out and have even set my hand at trying to solve some of the puzzles from Security Breach. I really love the idea of the Meta- multimedia platform that the franchise has gone in. And then I rewatched the movie with all of my lore knowledge and got jealous that there isn't such a well done adaptation for Resident Evil! I appreciate all that Scott has gone through as an author writing all the short stories and screen plays. Also, I was a big lover of Choose Your Own Adventures as a child, and I love The Week Before with the additional complication of inventory. What a fun idea! Keep it up, Scott. I'm looking forward to the second movie.
