    The attention to detail here is mind blowing! Easily industry standard if not better. Even the gentlemen at ILM would be impressed. Thank you for sharing, it's a genuine privilege to see a true artist working on such a masterpiece.

    This is an astronomical, the talent, the patience, George Lucas himself should ask you to do his model sets, I’d be surprised if he already hasn’t, I just can’t get over the detail that you have put into these models, fantastic work. Thank you for sharing your talents.

    You know how you go to the comments section on every single YT video, and you'll see idiots with negative comments? I seriously doubt you'd ever find anyone that has something negative to say about the quality and attention to detail in your work! This is a masterpiece. Do you have a tutorial on lighting up a model, I'm looking to add lighting effects for the Bandai version of the Millennium Falcon, but I have no clue where to start beyond LED strips for the engine, and maybe some fiber optic for the cockpit area?

I have bough paragrafix photoetches for hold and corridors but I doubt about what color use for both plastic floor and photoetch parts in order to be realistic. I think I will user black for plastic parts and black with metalic weathering for photoetches parts. Could yo please tell us what colors did you use? Thanks in advance and, again, GREAT WORK!!

    • @modelsbychris
      @modelsbychris  8 років тому

      +Wakeman Edwards That's a good question. I don't have enough of the top yet to tell. But I'm planning on building a table with a glass case for the Falcon, so opening it up to view inside may prove difficult. I may end up displaying the interior hold separately. Haven't decided yet, though I still have almost a year to go.

    • @wakemanedwards3450
      @wakemanedwards3450 8 років тому

      You know, thats a good idea. Perhaps you could display it as a movie set with scratch built camera's props etc. I was planning on the table route or something like it myself which is what many of the Master Replica purchasers did. Tell you what, lets stay in touch, and share idea's. It would be good to have an online friend who is also building this project. You up for that? If so let me know. Chris would you walk me through your process for installing the EL wire in the maintenance pits? Are you using a driver for the wire? How does it tie into the model’s power source, etc? Thanks.

    • @modelsbychris
      @modelsbychris  6 років тому

      That's kind of a tough one to completely go through. If you go to my blog here falconmodelbuild.blogspot.com/2015/10/pt-14-hold-floor-and-corridors.html there are some photos and a little explanation as to how I did it. I basically wrapped the wire around the inside of the cutouts and secured with hot glue. I did use a driver, which I attached to the outside of the Starboard side wall by the bunk, and then ran the wire for the driver to my extra power board I made to power my additional lighting. The driver is being powered by the 9v supply of my Falcon. I made several boards that I placed throughout the falcon to run my additional lighting too, all of which power off of the same supply.

    • @lawrencereynolds3992
      @lawrencereynolds3992 6 років тому

      Christopher Olson Thanks for the prompt reply. Did you open up the driver and connect wires that feed into your own power supply? Did you have to cut any of the EL wire? Anything tricky about reconnecting EL to the power wires? Sorry for bombarding you with questions. Thanks for your time.

      The driver has one set of wires that plug into the EL wire, then there's open wires that run to your power source. I did cut my EL wire to length. It cuts just fine. I didn't have any issues. Honestly though, I'd probably go about lighting it differently now that I've completed my Falcon and gone on to light other models as well. Learning as I go. I probably would use an LED strip now at this point. Powers directly from 9v and would be brighter.

      Christopher Olson Thanks. I thought about LED strips, too. Thought it would be too bright. I’ll play around with it. Your build is really inspiring! Thanks again.

      I think it was 1.5 or 2mm. don't remember without having to go through receipts. And I got 2 ft, but cut the end where needed
