i have this dvd in my collection, and i gotta say, it's smokin (pun intended). 3 worldclass musicians, in an intimate setting, in the mood to play, plus, it's pretty decent soundwise and, even if a bit on the boring side visually... does anybody really care, when the playing and overall mood is as excellen as here? this dvd is nothing short of amazing and certainly the next best thing to actually having been there. i recommend getting it, youtube doesn't do these greats any justice at all.
If you notice at 5:39 about the organist makes a nod toe the guitar syncopations that Grant Green used to do in his organ quintets and trio's!! niiiice!
Bill Stewart ridiculous drummer. Check him out with the good ol' John Sco' and the Swallow. Never heard until this Peter Bernstein until today. He is refreshing. He definitely sounds original which is hard to find with guitar. he isnt playing any cliche things. Sure he is speaking the Jazz language but its very orignal

Re: black or white issue: Pain is pain, it ain't got color. Joy is joy, it ain't got color. And soul is soul, it ain't got color either.
