The friendship between you fellas is "The Best". What a lovely gesture. So very happy for you Scott. Bart what can I say, You rock it brother. My wife & daughter are watching with me and say...Ahhhhh, that's sweet.
Hey this is Tracy, very cool episode. My wife was very understanding about the whole bourbon trail. The days we did four distilleries she was a little pressed by the end of the day. She did say each and every one was a different experience. Some places she drank her samples, many she just had a drop and handed them to me. The Jim Beam masterpiece I told her we could get a metal plate with our names on it for $200 , she gave the thumbs up. The whole thing she was awesome. I had the gift shop girl from heaven hill and the tour guide from Barton hold the coin for a pic, they thought it was cool.
Bart is a great friend. Scott, its great to have tasted a bottle that you can rank 97 to date. For $350-$400 that is a good chunk of change. My best bottle to date is the Glengoyne 25 for $300 rated at 95 and my 2nd best bottle is the Bunnahabhain 25 for $400 rated at 94.. It sure is great to taste and have bottles of this caliber in our collection. Great review.
Gabrielgv0619, while in Scotland this year, I had the chance to taste the Bunna 25. The 18 yr is good, but the 25 yr is so much more complex,. On the palate I got fruit compote that develops into roasted malt, chestnuts and stewed raisins.
Tempting haven't gone over the $350 CDN mark for a bottle. Came close for Bunnahabhain 25 but a couple friends would have had bought couple shots. Would like to see what Scott would think of an older single cask Glendronach as previousily been mentioned on the comments.
I once had a shelf come off its support and two full bottles (Glendronach 15 and Glen Garioch 12) fell. It was about 6 feet up and both survived. Don't know if I was really lucky, Scot was really unlucky, or both.
Hi Scott and bart Hope this finds you well, I'm just touching base with you on the balvenie tun 1509, I have watched this video many times, and I never heard you say Gordon macphail linkwood, so I haven't opened my bottle of of the tun 1509, but I'm asking you if the Gordon macphail linkwood is really that good, because I don't generally buy independent bottles of anything because there generally not good, I'm speaking about Duncan Taylor dimensions in general, so I can pick up a bottle of Gordon macphail linkwood, and a Gordon macphail glenloosie (misspelled) that has been sitting on the shelves for sometime, just let me know whether I should give these a try, love your reviews, so keep up the great reviews and cheers gentlemen, and enjoy the 1509 !!!
Hi Scott and bart I got your reply and I can get the Gordon macphail linkwood for $80.00 dollars and the same for the glenlossie gm, would you recommend the Gordon macphail linkwood at that price, they have been sitting on the shelve for about a year, I just don't want to buy a independent bottle of whiskey if it is no good, if you recommend it I will pick it up and give it a try, I mean I have about 200 bottles and I've been lucky, I have only had 1 bad whiskey in my collection, and that's a Duncan Taylor 18year old, and I would tell you, if there giving it away I wouldn't take it, thanks ahead of time for your advice, cheers brother and keep the great videos coming !!!
Great gesture by Bart - and one justified, too, despite slightly embarrassing Scott with the generosity ^^ A fine continuation from the bourbon shootout. Ps. Also liked the hint by Bart to Scott that "should we have a photos only section on the website" as in "I just gave you an expensive bottle of whisky, how about you make that happen" : )))
I like the glasses about as much as I like square ones...when they go on sale, you give them as gifts to the in-laws, who then have to tell you they love them.
Hmmm...black bottle or Tun. I think you made the right choice! I have the 1401 which is one of the greatest of all time. Haven't tried the 1509 but I hope to.
That excitement Bart is talking about was when I recieved my confirmation for my Lap 10 CS 2017 order last week...waiting in anticipation for its arrival...The drop of the Balvenie must have hurt a tun... 😬 .. Did you sniff the concrete afterwards? I would have done that for sure.
I'm working on the problem... Watching the episode... great episode, and then it hits me! Park on the lawn! Drive onto the grass. Don't stop on the pavement when you have whisky in a bag. Just simply don't be on a driveway when unloading whisky... no? Yes.
First, Bart, loved the Mrs. Doubtfire reference (a run-by fruiting). I'm interested in what you think of the Black Bottle. At the same price point, I found Teacher's Highland Cream to be much nicer and it has a bit of peat to it. I'm going to echo the others' sentiments, it was a touching gesture. Plus, it was pretty funny to see Scott so gobsmacked with incredulity at Bart's sudden deviation from his normal tomfoolery. Cheers fellas!
Thanks Daniel. I (Bart) loved Mrs. Doubtfire. I agree with you in regards to the Black Bottle...We do get a review done on it soon too. Hard to surprise him too.
Man I'd love to find the Batch #3. I have seen a lot of Batch #2 floating around but no Batch #3. I think the best I've currently had is Michter's 20 for bourbon and Bowmore 25 for Scotch. Great video as always guys!
What kind of camera are you shooting with? Great video quality. As for Black Bottle, I liked it when it was Islay heavy blend a few years back. But now with the new packaging also came a new blend that is not so good. Too grainy and not Islay influenced like it once was. White Horse is now the great blend of Islay whiskies at an economy price. Love your channel!
No more mishaps Scott I found another bottle but well over 400.00. My wife might demand payment upfront before I would be allowed to purchase that one. This one gave her pause and a funny look in her eye like this had better be for them or you are going to be very lonely for a long time!
My question to all, I am considering buying Glengoyne 25 and glendronach 18 and 21. Is Balvenie tun better than all three above? I guess, I know Scott's answer. How about rest of whisky lovers!!!
Man. What do those cost in yalls area? $400/500? I would have been so pissed had I dropped that. Wow. EDIT - I like when you talked about excitement factor Bart. Kinda got me thinking, there are not many bottles out there that I get really excited about, and the ones I do have gotten crazy expensive. Maybe I should stock up now, prices will keep getting crazier.....
I think I would nave been sick if I dropped. $400 dollar bottle of whisky! I would love to try some, but I can't justify spending that much on scotch!!
The friendship between you fellas is "The Best". What a lovely gesture. So very happy for you Scott. Bart what can I say, You rock it brother. My wife & daughter are watching with me and say...Ahhhhh, that's sweet.
i should of hugged him right off that stool.
Scotch Test Dummies
And They Called it Dummie Love
Agreed Sam this was a good one.

Awesome Tracy. Sounds like a great time and a great understanding wife.
Great show guyz! Love that your reviews are not swayed by distilleries or samples, keep up the honest reviews.
thanks Andrew!
I fully support all things "Dummies"! Wore my shirt to Ardbeg day and you've seen the Husband's office. You are a Tun of fun!
Thank you Aimee and the Husband for all the support!
I like the quick and subtle Jefferson's reference by Bart, "moving on up."
Weezie!
Now that would be a good name for a straight bourbon. HA!
Glad you found another bottle. I just scored one in Vegas a couple of days ago and I'm so excited!
what happens in vegas...
What can I say, great friends deserve great things, hope your friendship lasts forever!!, big hug to both, great show as always
thank you Luis.

thanks Keith. This is one of those bottles that literally as soon as it hit my lips, I could tell it was good.
Keith, how does the Bunna 25 compare to the Bunna 18 (a personal favorite)?
Gabrielgv0619, while in Scotland this year, I had the chance to taste the Bunna 25. The 18 yr is good, but the 25 yr is so much more complex,. On the palate I got fruit compote that develops into roasted malt, chestnuts and stewed raisins.
Scott, that sure is a great feeling to experience.
Scott you are stronger than I am... I would have been touched to the point of being misty eyed I'd imagine.
Very nice!
(Crazy) Hats off to Bart.
I should have hugged him right off that stool!
good one guys. I am sure it is a tasty one. Very nice gesture Scott. Friends and family always first.
Thanks roy roy.
Same thing happened to me with a Glendronach 15 yo. Garage smelled great for a week. Resisted temptation to run and get a straw.😊
at least with the garage you got to smell it for a week. not so in the driveway, i had about a 30 second window.
Scotch Test Dummies LOL But for a week I was reminded of what I didn't have.
Just ordered a bottle yesterday after watching your review. Great job.
excellent, let me know what you think. scott

Both😪
You guys have a great rapport, this is my first view. I'm liking what I see. I have a Salida story myself, but it involves a defunct brewery there.
thanks for watching Jeff! We love new subscribers too!
Boom Bart! That's the best, we should all hope to have one friend this appreciative! Big move!
Scott agrees!

its ok, not outstanding so depends on the price point. I think at the time it was $80 give or take, so probalby worth that.
Hi Scott and bart
I got your reply and I can get the Gordon macphail linkwood for $80.00 dollars and the same for the glenlossie gm, would you recommend the Gordon macphail linkwood at that price, they have been sitting on the shelve for about a year, I just don't want to buy a independent bottle of whiskey if it is no good, if you recommend it I will pick it up and give it a try, I mean I have about 200 bottles and I've been lucky, I have only had 1 bad whiskey in my collection, and that's a Duncan Taylor 18year old, and I would tell you, if there giving it away I wouldn't take it, thanks ahead of time for your advice, cheers brother and keep the great videos coming !!!
This is the reason we wake up each Saturday morning.
Thanks George! Sample arrived safe and sound yesterday! Wife was checking out the chips!
awww Good on you BART! LOL...some brotherly love right there. im going to have to find a bottle, thanks guys
i should have hugged him right off that stool.

the web designer is taking a vacation 😊
Good on you, Bart! That's a good friend right there! Great review, gents!
thanks Adam!
I like the glasses about as much as I like square ones...when they go on sale, you give them as gifts to the in-laws, who then have to tell you they love them.
Ha...or give fruit cake
Hmmm...black bottle or Tun. I think you made the right choice! I have the 1401 which is one of the greatest of all time. Haven't tried the 1509 but I hope to.
thanks cato. we haven't had the 1401.
Scotch Test Dummies picked up a 1509 batch 4 today
That excitement Bart is talking about was when I recieved my confirmation for my Lap 10 CS 2017 order last week...waiting in anticipation for its arrival...The drop of the Balvenie must have hurt a tun... 😬 .. Did you sniff the concrete afterwards? I would have done that for sure.
I did sniff yes 😪
Best scotch so far. Nice Scott. I wish I had more than a sample now. I"m very curious if I agree now.
agree you would (yoda voice)
Scotch Test Dummies lol
Our stores are due for 1509 in October at treefiddy... eeeeholijeeee.... Bart has a big Heart.... (tshirt)
he likes big hearts and he can not lie!
I'm working on the problem... Watching the episode... great episode, and then it hits me! Park on the lawn!
Drive onto the grass. Don't stop on the pavement when you have whisky in a bag. Just simply don't be on a driveway when unloading whisky... no? Yes.
that is a great solution. neighbors might not like it, but oh well!
First, Bart, loved the Mrs. Doubtfire reference (a run-by fruiting). I'm interested in what you think of the Black Bottle. One day I will hopefully get to taste this elixir of life. It is too rich for my blood at the moment. Great review guys:)
It is good
I have two bottles of the Old Black Bottle, I bought in 2010.:)
stay tuned for that review.
Man I'd love to find the Batch #3. I have seen a lot of Batch #2 floating around but no Batch #3. I think the best I've currently had is Michter's 20 for bourbon and Bowmore 25 for Scotch. Great video as always guys!
Thanks Malt
I was looking forward to the Black Bottle review.....Haha
its next week!
Great episode!! How is there a single thumbs down? Shame
We blame Bart for that one
What kind of camera are you shooting with? Great video quality.

Love your channel!
Thanks Jason, the Black Bottle review is coming up Saturday.
Wow that is one expensive bottle. $851($671 USD) up here in Canada. Wish I could try it.
we've heard this one is high in Canada.
Actually 568$ CA in alberta
No more mishaps Scott I found another bottle but well over 400.00. My wife might demand payment upfront before I would be allowed to purchase that one. This one gave her pause and a funny look in her eye like this had better be for them or you are going to be very lonely for a long time!
thats called the dog house Scout, we've all been there!
My question to all,
I am considering buying Glengoyne 25 and glendronach 18 and 21.
Is Balvenie tun better than all three above?
I guess, I know Scott's answer.
How about rest of whisky lovers!!!
The dronach 21 is definitely good, don't think it beats this out, but close. I need more of the Goyne 25 , but I think the Tun wins that one too.
GlenDronach 21 every time. Worth getting before the prices goes Balvenie.
Way to go Bart, really nice. Excellent review as always guys. Cheers!
great guy that Bart.
Scotch Test Dummies he'd be even better if he bought me one too! Just sayin... 😂
Man. What do those cost in yalls area? $400/500? I would have been so pissed had I dropped that. Wow. EDIT - I like when you talked about excitement factor Bart. Kinda got me thinking, there are not many bottles out there that I get really excited about, and the ones I do have gotten crazy expensive. they're all gone now, but was $400. and i was pissed! Scott
Scotch Test Dummies I don't doubt it Scott! Super awesome move on Barts part, it's good to have good friends!
Ok this is the next Grail Bottle. Thanks for making me spend money.
Money well spent Joo!
Scott, now imagine if Bart had rated it and you guys had no need for another bottle? Thank him for erring boldly!
oh, i wanted to find another bottle. this is one that as soon as it hit my lips, i knew i had to have more.
I think the pausing of the video was Scott wanting to smother Bart with kisses rather than wanting the whisky to open up a bit.
i hugged him.
found it for $499....worth it?
Ouch. Thats pretty high. The bottle i dropped cost me $320 which was part of the pain. I knew i wouldn't get another one at that price.
WAY TO GO BART!!!
BOOM!
Man, 15:40 seconds in before you guys even smell the stuff. 🤦🏻♂️
it took us awhile on this one.
It might take an older single cask GlenDronach to top the Tun 1509 Batch 3 and G&M Macallan 38yr. #gatoslocos
you are one crazy cat Travis!
Neat glasses.
thanks Chris.
Bart, get Scott (Spaz) a pair of the tacky grip gloves.
thats exactly what i need.
I think I would nave been sick if I dropped. $400 dollar bottle of whisky! I would love to try some, but I can't justify spending that much on scotch!!
I can't justify it either. scott
I think Scott needs to be alone with this bottle... LOL...
YES!!!!
#89th Thumbs up fellas, and its a bottle within my sites.
Good eyes Seattle...good eyes
Bart quit using the word "drop"....
It was more like an escape. scott
That hat looks like a forlorn acorn whose cap has shrunk up in the dryer. Poricito!
Or Barts head grows
