What’s to stop the winch mount bolt heads from being pulled through the bumper holes without those square backing plates installed when the winch is under load? They are to distribute the the load over a larger surface area. It seems pretty dangerous to not use them.
Loved the video guys! Not sure if it was mentioned in here or not (I can't think if it was or not while typing this), but I HIGHLY recommend investing into some security bolts for the winch. I know you guys park in a gated driveway, but outside of that, its fairgame to these if its parked. And trust me, they can take these fast. I had my winch on for two weeks and it was stolen. Currently on my second winch now but taking extra caution this time.
Great video! You may want to research and look into doing a high-output alternator upgrade to address that lack of power when using the winch. Also would recommend a big 3 or 7-wire upgrade.
@@Garagecouple Would love to see Greg tackle the Big 7 upgrade! I wanted to do it on my JK but this install looks a bit confusing. looking forward to seeing that install!
My winch has the same wireless controller. This weekend, while visiting friends at their apartment, the winch started randomly reeling in every 20-30 seconds. Wireless interference from something in the area. So, this coming weekend, I will be installing an off/on switch in the cab for the winch. So be aware, it can pick up interference.
Hi, it should be because the frequency from the receiver in the control box is being interfered by other signals. Please don't worry, you can contact our customer service and ask her to reissue a wireless remote control set for you, and you can just replace it directly.

Looks awesome.. I am so impressed with what guys have done with that Jeep! Love the install videos... so fun.
Thank you for the support!!
Can the controller be remotely located?
Yes!
Hello from sunny Spokane WA!
Hello!
So, do you carry a factory 55 recovery kit when you go off roading?
We do not! We use the gear from our Amazon shop tab called recovery
Jeepers on a budget can't afford factory 55 stuff. $300 for a hook? Nope.
💯
You should have a fuse between the battery and the winch.
The winch has an internal fuse
How long warranty does open road winch take?
No idea
Just found out that open road winches are lifetime warranty on it! Sounds good!!
Great job
Thank you
what about the little thin black wire?
Thanks me and wife installed the the winch!!!
Sweeeet!
