- The secret to a responsive and powerful 2-stroke engine Basically, 2-stroke engines have the terms primary and secondary compression. Both of these compressions have several supporting components. Lower/primary compression is influenced by the density of the membrane, crankshaft seal, crankcase (if there is change) and piston rings. Meanwhile, secondary compression or upper compression is influenced by the piston rings, the density of the block gasket and the header. If the upper and lower compression can be protected from leaks then it is certain that the 2-stroke motorbike/engine will work well. Apart from other conditions, such as ignition conditions, lubrication, etc. In this video, this is one of the causes of the 2t engine experiencing a drop or sluggish power when going uphill and the acceleration is less responsive.
