    The Ratte is such a horribly designed tank it’s crazy this DLC will try to make it viable despite its impracticality

      The game is about changing history, sandbox, roleplay and althist. You should be able to at least try to make the impossible possible

      Plus there is a lot in HOI4 that is project X123.
      would had worked if, nations had oil to run it, Chemical55 and steel grade 7 (1 is crap and 20 is todays top of the line and in 1940 10 was the top) said nation could get steel graded between 3 and 6.
      Like people say that the Yamaha was a garbage ship problem was it was just to late to the battle (first battle 1943ish sank in 44 had no escort fleet).
      had the Yamaha sailed when it should (not been delayed) in 1940-41 it would had together whit having a fleet like it should had actually caused serious problem.
      US navy airfroce in 1939-42 that part had some okey aircraft but it was whofully not working.
      the Rattle okey maybe not the actuall Rattle but something else could have worked (presuming it had air support cover) as then you had something that could break down strongpoint something like no nation really could do in WW2 reliable.
      well they could by just shelling the location whit artillery for weeks on end (almost causing the department of Munition to open up again because of the artily shell and barrel consumption).

      @@peepsbates not really, the p1000 ratte has nothing to do with the square cube law. For normal operations, the weight of a tank matters less than its ground pressure. The problem with the ratte was its inability to cross bridges or tunnels.

    There was more than just an experimental helicopter at the end of WW2. Germany had a helicopter transport squadron that was evacuated to the UK instead of letting it fall into Soviet hands and in the pacific America was using helicopters for search and rescue and medivac.

      the Us was also using ealry helicopters to do SAR on the hump iirc

    I don't like that they're now using 'breakthrough' for multiple stats, it'll now be a project increase chance and the 'toughness' stat. I think it's going to get confusing, especially when you're trying to find info for the projects and it'll take you to old posts on the unit stat.

      Jet engines are actually a mid30s technology
      But fielding reliable and useful equipment with said technology is a completely other issue

    So here's my predictions for these experimental weapons
    The Early SAMs will do much MUCH more damage to planes compared to state AA but you have to constantly replenish them
    Helicopters will act as a recon support company and a module for ships since IRL early helicopters are used as spotters for arty (basically a better but more expensive recon company) and an early helicopter (or gyrocopter as some people calls it) called the Kolibri was used on the Koln a german light cruiser (turret C ewas modified to accommodate the heli) and it will probably be slightly less expensive comared to sea planes (since you dont need a catapult) but it provides slightly less bonuses (also in addition it might also become a transport and a medivac since yes the germans have helicopters that's bigger and can transport supplies and do medivacs)
    Land cruisers will probably act like the railguns they will move around the battlefield and provide fire support and AA defense to units around it but moves incredibly slow and can't do much against mountains (like a 99% speed and attack terrain debuff when on mountains)
    Super heavy railguns meanwhile will probably have longer range compared to the standard railgun and wont be captured as often if it was encircled
    The super arty (like the london guns if my memory is correct) will probably have even less range than the V-1 but it won't always hit and wont do much damage but it will do it for free compared to the rockets which needs Mils
    Super howis will do much more damage compared to normal howitzers but will probably slow the divisions that have them since they're much more heavier.
    Of course there's also the super strat bombers like the america bomber and the American flying wings (just a strat bomber that's more expensive and have FAR longer range), early AAMs (does a lot more air attack but it slows planes down considerably and weights a lot and yes those are a thing in WW2), project Habbakuk (devs mentioned this thing and it will simple be a carrier that can carry land planes and not carrier planes)

    It feels like they're adding too much detail to remember on top of an already complicated game, like they said "we need another xpan to make another $20/person, come up with something!"

    my god if they actually finally add ships having to go to port to refuel (no idea why HoI4 never bothered to add ammo to the game that is about managing a war but whatever, priorities were on reforming nations nobody has every heard of I guess) that would be such a gamechanger, especially for modding!

      That's not how it works. Ships have always "gone back to port to refuel", as described by their range, it's just abstracted. This new mechanic allows you to spend convoys to extend the range.

    the difference seems to be that you'd need less guns to fill out the bombardment limit
    railway guns, like ships, take a set amount of personnel from the manpower pool to crew, a standard RW gun takes 1k personnel, a SH RW gun takes 1.5k, but does nearly twice the bombardment, to you save 500 personel to do the same damage, multiplied by the number of guns you usually build, that can amount to a full division worth of manpower that can be used elsewhere instead of babying guns behind the frontline

    Was hoping they would also include prototype decisions - i.e Japan's Chinese lanterns concept damaging American west coast, American bat bombs giving some sort of naval invasion bonus. Soviet tank dogs etc

      Soviet tank dogs actually ran under Russian tanks in the field because that's what they trained the dogs with.
      If anything they should reduce Russian tank reliability.

    question whit the cruiser sub been made available for all.
    I hope that they let them become more long term useful.
    right now the 1940 sub have more range and gets almost the same detection as the cruiser sub whit radar installed.
    I loved to build the cruiser subs and put the aircraft hangar and radar to make a super detector ship but the 1940 sub would outclass it fast.
    Plus I hope they add a submarine aircraft carrier (yes its an aircraft carrier but its a sub) and you can put it to use for operations where it would do some wicked stuff.
    want to do a raid on that heavy water factory.
    if you put the submarine aircraft then the commando would gain air support in there mission increasing there chance to escape.

      They might buff it since it'll come out later for everyone. Maybe it'll be a middle-ground between two of the regular sub techs.

      It isn't new. They added the Yellow River dams being blown, and you can open up the dikes as The Netherlands.

    the game runs faster but they added way to much stuff to it like new features and buttons to click....is it humanly possible to keep everything under control unless you always play on speed 3?

    more buildings added and more stuff to build using factories....shouldnt they increase the state factory capacity then? or do something with the resources?...patch by patch the game turning into black ice or something lol🤣

      No it's not, here's why the average player will almost completely ignore the spy system and much more. And they'll add even more crap instead of reworking half broke old stuff that nobody cares about because it's bad. They have to learn that less is more and that abstraction is good if made well.

      Forgive me if I’m wrong but aren’t they completely different? Trial of allegiance was a country with no new features like battle of the Bosporus whilst this dlc is more like by blood alone with new features like raids.

      @@TheInspector-wi1tu technically yes but to me personally dlc is dlc and it just wasnt up to scratch in my opinion and looking at the reviews on steam i wasnt the only one who was disappointed
