Best Bedding For Guinea Pigs | GuineaDad

- Hi there, Guinea Gang! In this video, we compare four different types of guinea pig beddings: paper, aspen, pine, and our very own GuineaDad fleece liner.
Since the whole GuineaDad team is committed to helping small animals live their lives to the fullest, we wanted to share with you the pros and cons of using these kinds of beddings. As a guinea parent, the cost isn't the only thing we should consider. We have to think about how the materials used in the bedding will affect the overall health of our piggies. Dust can give them respiratory problems, and inadequate cushioning for their cute feet may cause bumblefoot. We also tested all of the beddings for moisture control or absorbency. Do you think a GuineaDad liner can survive a bucket of water?
For a more detailed explanation about the beddings, please check out our blog post: guineadad.com/blogs/news/best...

I had that paper bedding it was on EVERYTHING and we switched to GuineaDad and it was amazing
Right now I'm still using paper bedding but I'm saving money for guinea dad liners! I seriously can't wait to switch =_=)9
You won't regret it! 😁
Why use bedding when the guinea dad linear is the best thing ever
Omg ikr
Ikr??? It’s amazing
people can use whatever they want
what do i do if guineadad liner doesnt fit the hutch?
Those liners are rubbish, don’t waste you money in fleece liners
I used to use pine bedding, it was a hassle to clean. Plus your guinea pigs would be covered in the dust. Then I learned about GuineaDad Liners, I got it and omg it’s amazing I love it!
Oh wow! I'm glad you love it!
@@GuineaDad thanks love
@@GuineaDad i would buy it if it wasn't sooo expensive
@@Lucrativecris I guess you have to look at it as an investment since you’ll save money overtime
yay! cant wait! reminder is on!
uuu what a quincidence that I saw your comment here! Do you remember me?
@@hamsterforest6455 hello! yup! i remember you!
:) i enjoy your videos!
@@meo-conluvsU. awwhhh really? Thanks :)
I loveee the wireless/chargeable vacuum! I saw it in one of your previous cleaning vids and thought it looked super convenient, so I bought it. 💯✔ it is amazing vs. the way I used to clean lol
I love it! It works so well!
Which vacuum is that?
uuu woah new video! So cool! :)
Hope you enjoyed it!
Omg thx my mom doesnt understand that it better for my guinea pig to use a liner i cant thank you enough 😁🐹
Happy to help! ☺️
I’m getting your fleece soon! Maxi and Kermit will love it!
Omg, how exciting! We hope that Maxi and Kermit love the liner ❤️
@@GuineaDad they love the liner!
This is what i’ve been looking for
Aww thank you! You can check our complete list of products on our website (www.guineadad.com) 😊
Im definitely going to get a guinea dad liner!
I got 2 of these liners and they love the pocket!! They sleep in it in the winter when it is colder. I have a litter box in the cage that has bedding in it and they are trained to pee and poop on the bedding and not on the fleece. When you get bedding you should get dust extracted, you also need to change bedding a lot
OMG! I totally agree with you Karson! You should also invest in 2 or more liners so you have plenty in rotation. 😉
How do you train them to poop in 1 spot? We have had ours for a yr now and he still goes everywhere
@@antawanwaker6680 at first it was hard, then I released they always pooped in the same spot so I rearranged the cage so that is where the litter box was. They poop a little well they sleep but they all do that. Hope that helps!
guineadad liners are the best liners!
Hello Guinea dad thank you so much for helping me out 😃
No problem 😊
omg I’m crying thanks you soo much for replying 🥺it means the world for me
Guinea dad cage liners are the best my guinea pigs love them easy to clean and don't need to change as much and keeps smell away and very dry
Thank you Alena! I am glad you love GuineaDad Liners too :)
Aw we didn’t see the little corner guineadad was in 😂
That's a GuineaDad Livestream exclusive 🤣
If I ever get piggies, I'm getting GunieaDad fleece liners so it cuts my time cleaning alot
Wouldn't say it cuts time, as you need to clean it every day maybe cut a bit of time. It definitely cuts costs though
Great! I’m so exited I’ll watch! Can I have a shout out? Please your the best!
Okay fine I’ll place my order right now😂
Shop now hooman! - Peanut 🤣
U can use reusable bed pads 34x36 $7 or regular adult bed pads if u just wanna throw it away 150 in a package enough for 1 year for $24 i have a 24x60 cage🤷♀️ im sure this pad it's amazing too just not everyone can afford it 😉 so for like an S.O.S i hope i helped 🤗
I truly appreciate your honest feedback regarding the price. What would you recommend me to used to washed the blanket ( fleece) because I'm planning on getting the blanket but don't know what to used to washed it and I just want to do it properly, can you help me?
Anyone know what vacuum that was in the quick clip?
“Look how awesome is” hahah and it looks just as wet!
i guess that's one way of look at it 😉
when washing/drying the liner are their any particular temperatures/settings that I should use(like make sure the dryer is not on hot)?
Hi Ronan. I highly suggest you always go with the lowest setting because heat can shorten the life of your liners. 😊
Where did you get your cage from?
I literally was just about to buy it, but it turn out that the shipping price is almost $300 😥
We’ve been using wood shavings, bedding. But it’s getting on everything and it gets in their cloth cubby. Now I have to find something to scrape the cubbys off. The litter is actually stuck to them.so I’m probably gonna be switching to the washable. I’m worried about them breathing it in and eating it.
I am glad you've planning to transition to alternative beddings. Bedding made from cedar or pine wood shavings has a pleasant smell that can mask odors caused by your guinea pig's urine. However, cedar and pine shavings can be highly irritating to a guinea pig's respiratory system and can cause an allergic reaction that can manifest in a chronic skin problem. So I am really glad you're considering the switch 😊
Although its good absorbancy it will still be wet on top so instead of selectively moving it u can't with the fleece not unless it needs to get washed 20 times a day so what woukd u do in that situation
Our fleece liners absorb moisture away from the top fleece layer to keep the fleece and small animal’s feet dry.
How do I buy one? I just got a Guinea and was going to use paper bedding but I am convinced this is better
Good choice, GuineaDad Liner is the best option available for guinea pigs. You can purchase at www.guineadad.com
Just to say, Aspen is way better than pine if your going to use one of the two and pine is what tends to be known as just wood shavings. I don’t use either for my Guinea pigs, but I did use Aspen in my hamsters cage in part of it as well as paper (they’re burrowing animals so fleece isn’t an option for hamsters) but I would never use any wood shavings other than aspen or hemp, as softwood, pine, cedar (anything dusty) can be extremely toxic to ALL small animals. So if for some reason you NEED to use wood shavings for your Guinea pig, use aspen or possibly hemp shavings (I’ve never heard of using hemp with piggies, but have with hamsters) hemp is a lot softer than aspen as well
I just received my new guineadad liner, does a new one need to be prepped or is it ready to go? Someone please help, thanks!
I recommend running it through the wash before your first use. Here's some links to our blog for some more GuineaDad Liner Care tips. Hope this helps! 😁

@@GuineaDad Yes, thank you! :)
I have 4 guinea pigs have the guinea dad bedding and I have had the bedding for about a year and it is now starting to leak should I buy more bedding and dose guinea dad bed normally do that where after about a year it's not leakproof or do you think I am doing something wrong?
1
Hi! If the liner begins to emit an unpleasant odor or seemingly has decreased absorbency, it is time for a deep cleaning. 😉
@@GuineaDad thank you for helping
This is a serious question. Why would I put a urine/poop saturated small blanket in my washer then wash my cloths in the next cycle? I don’t think that’s very sanitary.
I give mine a little hand wash beforehand with some cold water and vinegar in an old laundry basket. But you could put the washing machine on a rinse afterwards. I’ve also heard people giving their washing machines a clean afterwards . It also helps having pee pads and things so that it never gets that dirty.
What do I do if I’m stuck on a subscription for monthly aspen bedding delivery?
Hi! You can try to unsubscribe to it. I'm sure there should be an option to unsubscribe right? :)
I used wood chips before , it was such a mess, and a lot of work, buying 3 fleas was worth it.
How often do you have to change the Guinea Dad Liner?
With proper care and maintenance, the liners can last for years. Generally, we recommend spot cleaning your liners at least once a day. 🫧
GuineaDad liner is so expensive though.. 😢😬
Hi Sonja! 👋 I appreciate your honest feedback about the price. I understand that the liner can be quite expensive but I assure you that GuineaDad liner are of quality and is guaranteed safe and healthy for your piggies. There is no other product that goes so deeply into science and medical research as we do when it comes to guinea pig products. We are proud of that and stand behind our product’s quality. There may be affordable products in the market but we may not be guaranteed of their long-term effects on our piggies' health. 😁
Can this product be used on different animals as a litter box? I want to use it for a service animal in bringing outside is not very accessible
Of course! Even cats, porcupines, chinchillas and other small animals love it. It works great! :)
@@GuineaDad thank you so much!
how many times a week do you have to wash fleece liners?
We recommend daily spot cleaning (vacuuming) and a weekly wash.
hello what can i do if liner doesnt fit my hutch
Never use hutches for guinea pigs- please use a Midwest cage instead.
I love the fleas, not to messes,
How do you get hay and straw off fleece
You can use a small hand vacuum! We use the Bissel Perfect Sweep Turbo.
Does adding the vinegar make them smell vinegar-y?
If you use white vinegar, the vinegar smell evaporates in the rinse cycle
What about the smell? I’ve done fleece before and it smelled absolutely awful.
Hmmm, how often did you wash it?
@@GuineaDad I washed it every five days and I spot cleaned once a day.
My liners will leak through - probably because I guess I am incompetent at properly washing them (even though I wash on cold, no soap, air dry)
I vacuum the hay and poop off the liners every day to keep them clean. And once a week, I make sure to wash the liners in the washing machine to check them~!
I'm using the Premium GuineaDad Liner, which absorbs quickly and dries fast, making it easier to manage on a regular basis. If you're interested, you might want to try it out~!
Hi I'm from Malaysia. Where to buy this bedding? I want to use it for my guinea pig
www.guineadad.com !
@@GuineaDad oh thx...you ship it during this time?
I really hope I can get these liners from you, but i'm not optimistic that you ship to my location :(
Where are you located?
@@GuineaDad Iceland!
Isn’t line terrible? I heard from my piggy doctor that it’s hurtful for them
It depends on the liner. Our liners are super absorbant, Antibacterial, Antifungal, and Antimicrobial so your guinea pigs are not walking around in wetness. MUCH better for them than paper bedding.
Guinea dad liners have odor control?
Yup it helps in minimizing odor but I can still stink if it's gets really dirty and soaked in pee. 😉
@@GuineaDad Thx for answering i might get one!
I thinks that's what killed my pigs days apart from each other
Sorry to hear about your loss dear 🥺
*me crying not affording it*
