I lived in Middlesbrough from1960-2003 and watching your fantastic slides has made me realise how the soul was ripped out of the community and the character replaced by corporate greed. There were a lot of things that were not perfect back then, but the sorrow I feel for how things are now and how it is looking in the future is overwhelming. Thank you for this glimpse into the social history of a wonderful place to grow up.
You're most welcome Mia, one of the reasons I started to make these slideshow videos was to show future generations of Middlesbrough folk what the area was like and what has been lost.
some of this is absolutely heartbreaking to watch
They have destroyed the whole character of Middlesbrough...Thanks for sharing great memories
You're welcome Marc.

Seen them all more than once lol.And as a Smoggie down south its nice to still have that connection. Tho can be a little sad seeing somethings change. progress eh? Thanks again. and be safe.
Thanks Doug, the time and effort is all worth it if they bring enjoyment to people especially in these difficult times. I believe things are more difficult down South so look after yourself mate.
😂 From a smoggie up north to a smoggie down south, I send all the love and best wishes, that this boro lad can. Get yourself back up here for a drink when this crisis is all over.

Heartbreaking to see such wonton civic destruction.
Wish i could turn the clock back
All the buildings pre Victorian times, buildings all knocked down all because the council wants some money that's pure greed. Other parts of the country. Have still got Victoria buildings. The council at the time pure greed . We have lost a lot of history thanks for the council at the time.
3:13 why did the Bungalow have to go, is it now the type of area no one wants to live in a beautiful bungalow?
It was a cafe but by the early 1960's being a completely wooden building it was in a poor state of repair and I believe that there was a fire which meant it had to be pulled down.
@@BigMack1959 now just another green space, lovely.
Absolute vandalism, pulling down the Stewart Park conservatory.
