I absolutely love my M4 Competition..
As an M4 owner, I wish id never heard the monthly break downs like that! Thankfully got the major service done recently under the service pack the original owner had added in. Great cars, but yeah you need to buy with eyes open to running costs. Good informative video mate.
Thank you very much!.. I was quite gobsmacked when I worked it out! :).. I have sold this car since to get something else, but I will return to another soon!
The roof is a no no. I’ve got a 2015 M3 with 40000. Had it for 2 and a half years. Brilliant car, but you do need deep pockets to meticulously maintain them. Brakes, Michelin supers and shells finest are just the start. Worth it, never selling mine.
I actually liked having a sunroof when I owned this car, a bit marmite.
but yes they are truly amazing cars. Enjoy yours 👍
Damn you just scared me to death 🤣🤣 I’m planing to buying a 2019 plate this year hopefully and now you just made me want to stick to my 435D 🤣🤣
But honestly it will become my weekend car where I only drive it Friday and Saturday only, maybe odd days here and their when I’m off from work, right now my 435D is my weekend car and I maybe do 70 miles a week in it
Nice car, nice black dial Daytona too.
Good video for anyone wanting to buy one
Thanks very much
@@MultiMb77 Not so sure TBH. Been looking into getting one myself shortly as current leas deals on the M4 Competition pack are very good. The 1200 mile running in service is £250-350 at the 3 dealers I've been quoted by, a long way short of the £1200 you state in the video? Either the wrong figures being given or you were massively overcharged. The 3 year 36,000 mile service pack for M cars is only £995..
@@SW-by9ob I mentioned that I phoned a dealer to get the prices, and these prices I quoted in my video. Also as I mentioned I had the service plan so I didn't pay this amount. This is similar to other brands like warranty products can differ by thousands. for example an annual warranty for a McLaren can range from £3k to £5k which is why you need to shop about.
If you have been quoted the prices you have then fair play, this will be a good selling point for you,
I hope you do buy one, as they are fantastic cars, I sold this car in June, and miss it.
a realistic idea of what they cost M stands for money.
Very informative. I will say this again, M cars are not for the average earner, these cars aim exceptionally the rich, all M cars, all AMGs, all RS cars.. Dont purchase with your heart apply fully your mind, logic will tell you that you havent reached that level, even the bit of higher end BMWs like the older E series six cylinders are still expensive to maintain, so M cars are not for people who are still worried about fuel consumption, save for parts etc, if you are concerned about feeling up an M car, sell it, you are not the guy it aims at, yet... Greetings from Africa.. Eswatini..
Dumsani simelane yup! I purchased an M3 when I was 25 and I only had it 9 months as I couldn’t afford to replace the tyres! Had to sell it 😂 what a great 9 months though 😂
@@MultiMb77 legend
I have spent know where near this much in three years, I’m still on the same pilot sport tyres with loads of ware still, Spend £60 a month on the car in fuel or a little bit more, the car has only done 6750 miles on the clock, it’s a 2017 Competition 🤔
Awesome m, they are nice cars! 👍
Bro i want to buy one...how much it consumes in city pls! I earn decent but dont wanna work for a car...
£60 a month on fuel. I spend £40 in a 1.9 Golf 04'...that's not bad yo
300 quid a month full cost of ownership of my 2011 tdi passat. Thought someone might be interested to know.
Awesome.. hopefully some potential Passat owners will benefit from this info ❤️❤️
In your opinion, if you earn hypothetically £3000 a month after tax - is it possible or reasonable to own an m4 comp?
I think it's a little dependent on your other commitments etc.. and obviously dependent on your other payments with regards to the car, i.e. finance etc... but you have have clear £3k then yes, you could easily run one
What song was in the intro
Song title is in the description! 👍
If only it was still £62 to fill one of these up. I'm looking at one next year but a 2018 one should have all those services done and the tax should be cheaper after the 5th year. Doubt tyres will last me 2 years but PS4s are cheaper now.
I want to get a 2014 BMW 4-Series 420d M sport at 18 I live in London do u have a rough estimate on how much my insurance will be or should I go for Black box
Really really hard to say, as it depends on many factors, even down to your status etc
My best advice would be go to “comparethemarket” and do an online quote.. look at the cheapest price on there and add on about £100 as I find when you phone up places you have to add on some extras like breakdown and protection to NCB
If I saw this video, I wouldn't have bought my M4, I'm glad I didn't!!! I plan on doing my own maintenance which will reduce costs considerably and my son works at BMW so I get parts at a discount. One other thing is depreciation - I bought mine used, 1.5 years old with 7,500 miles and paid $25,000 less than a new one. That works out to $3.33 PER MILE that the previous owner paid in depreciation!
The costs are scary lol! You’re best off just diving in and not knowing! 😂 the M4 certainly makes up for the pain!
@@MultiMb77 I agree, driving the M4 makes up for it!
I can’t believe the running in service costs the owner 🤯? Surely that’s covered by BMW?
I’ve Just ordered mine and I’ve sent an email to ask that question 🤣
WOW, I don't understand how you paid £1200 for the RIS, I paid £300 at main dealers!
I don’t think I paid £1200, it what they quoted me.. and if I remember I think I got it free as my friend worked at the dealer.. it was a while ago now and my memory isn’t so good! 😂
So just do your own maintenance? You’d think if you’re buying a sports car you’d be working on the car yourself. And how much your paying for gas doesn’t sound like a lot at all
I am not a mechanic, washing it and putting air in the tyres is my limit, just because you own a sports car it doesn't mean you have to know how to work on them.
i think the running cost is not bad at all !
Yeah I thought the same.. sounds expensive but in reality it just falls into place when spreading the costs over the ownership 👍
Buying a 2014 m4 in the uk for 30k at 18 years old
Xx_plutonium__xX nice one, enjoy it! They’re great cars! I wish I kept mine 😢
Crashed it yet! hahahaha
Insurance cost? I need a laugh. 🤣
I checked insurnace quotes last year (22yo)...didn't get a single one.
These teens blatantly driving without insurance lol
How much is your insurance on the car if you don’t mind saying it?
I was paying just over £700.. car was garaged with tracker, I am over 40 yrs old with full no claims.. hope this helps 👍
Life Four Zero so for a 18 years old how much will it be if you add someone’s name in the insurance with 5/6 claim bonus?
Sarbjit Chizarr it would be hard to say, I would have thought into the thousands, best thing to do is go onto an insurance website and get a free quote, this will give you a realistic idea 👍
Life Four Zero thanks
@@sabby_oyeee2127 I'm 23...they won't even look at u mate
I'm still an additional driver on my 54' golf....3rd driver on my own damn car. £700 a year..otherwise it would have been twice that.
Rule of thumb..if you have to ask..you can't afford it
first running in service is covered by BMW and the first 3 years and 36k miles of maintenance.... So I am not sure what you are talking about.
Thanks for watching, I am not sure what you mean, you saying the 1st service BMW pay for now?
Yeah if u have serviceagreement ticked of wheb you purchase. I could buy that for my 320. Included all service up to 150k-200k kilometers but could be diffrent on m cars.
I think that your video is way out of date..going by your refuelling cost.. It costs me £80+ to fill my tank..
Main dealer service intervals are such a scam! Salesman sells you a car which is ‘cheap’ but the loss on sales is gathered by many other factors i.e service rip offs. Oil, filter & plugs, anything over £70 is robbery .. but people are scared paying big money & getting back street garages for service intervals to save a good wedge of cash only for main dealer stamps! Back street garage can carry out an oil change just as well to BMW mechanics. Sorry to rant, nothing against you .. video is very informative just get cheesed off about main dealer ‘service plans’!
Thanks for your input and I am totally with you!! Main dealer is such a rip off and the technicians are no better than other independents.
I hate the way it’s drummed into us that if it doesn’t t have main dealers stamps then it’s devaluing the car and harder to sell!!
With you 100%
With these vids i wish they would say this is what i paid and i had brakes say 350 oil 65 you c what i mean then you can be more ya i can do that but will try for a service plan when i go.
but how could we say what you paid?? i dont know you and you've never told me!! :)
@@MultiMb77 i have not paid anything mate my last 2 cars were takeover leases with maintenance built into the deal. (Thats basically someone wanted out of a lease and i take over for the rest of the term). Were that back fires is no px. But just seeing what a m4 owner is really paying after parts labour we taiking 600 or pushing over a grand. Just looking at getting some information of the real cost of owning a m4 vs Rs5 vs c63 amg v8. Have a good day mate
Tyres every 2 years😂😂😂 try everything 6 months unless you plan for this car to just live on your driveway 😆
I have never gone through tyres that quick... ever, in all of over 20 years of driving .. you must be going sideways everywhere!! haha
