Also, his printer is 1 year + old! If you're looking to start printing, and looking for somthing similar, get the Anycubic Photon Mono. It is the successor to the printer that he has and is AMAZING. 2k quality, prints faster, and will print anything from Archvillain perfect the first time (3 months and I've printed almost everything but the Nautaloid from November).

Aside from the fact that the technical skill involved with his builds has actually been noticably *increasing* over the years, a person's art evolves over time. Just because it looks different from his older projects does not make it any less difficult to make. Not to mention skill increases with time and practice, so a lot of stuff simply goes more smoothly.

My old projects are way easier to make. If I want a "lazy" week for a video I will make a simple old BMC style project. A multi-piece project that involved 3d printing, sculpting, kit bashing, making silicon molds, casting plaster, and a myriad of materials and techniques is not lazy compared to carving something simple out of foam and drybrushing it 3 colours like the "old" work you seem to think is better. Just because something looks simple doesn't mean it is. This painting scheme is much more involved and deliberate than any of my old 3 colour craft paint and brush paint jobs. You can this that all you'd like, but you are wrong. Just because you don't like something doesn't mean it is lazier.

This build is really cool! Makes me think of the Greek version or idea of Hades. Awesome! I am an airbrush illustrator and have been airbrushing for almost 35 years. Here's a tip on improving your airbrush control. Get or make a piece of grid paper and practice airbrushing dots at each corner of the grid intersections. Do as many or as few as you want. Just until you feel like it has helped. Next start connecting the dots with the airbrush. Also when you paint wrap the air hose around your forearm a time or two (depending on the length of your hose) This will keep it out of your way! Love your channel!♥

I can't help but be reminded of HellDorado by this video and the one from last week.
The fluff behind it was that during the hundred-year war, the European powers had found portals leading to Hell, which they then invaded looking for resources and for theological reasons.
The game began before it really began, as it had rules for players to compete as to how the battlefield terrain would be on the table (and its effects), and these gorgeous terrain pieces keep making me think of that.

I like that you put the feather on the ground instead of gluing it back on. It makes for interesting story or loot. Maybe the feather is the sacrificial tool that was used to summon the beast or maybe its a treasure that allows you to use an ability that the monster used against you in combat. I always imagine hell as a layered place, where you have dry desertic places to sufocate and let people turn into dust (becoming part of the environment), but also wet, pool side places, with rivers of boiling blood, lava and sweat of those working forever there.
I also imagine some damp and dark caverns where everything is so quiet and deprived of light that the person don't know where to go and just keep hearing sounds here and there, lost forever, aside from the other interpretations of hell such as the temporal loop and the frozen one...

I love the idea you're making your own world/plane/setting. In order to distinguish it from Hell/Abyss/Shadowfell etc. it might be cool to give it some unique lore.
With the greco statues and tiles, there's this theme of ruination. What about a plane that previously was "Good" . Filled with angel scholars, celestial philosophers and the like. Somehow it got corrupted - maybe we don't know how. Its now an entire plane of ruination. Of loss. Of what was.
That sounds like Torment to me.

This concept is awesome! Where relative beginners like I can dig in with full a relish of loosened restraint; as we are not worrying about angles, lines and 'exact' placement.
Those Greek/Roman era columns really support that 'a forgotten greatness has fallen' vibe; the underpinning thematic feel of the whole scene.
The casting of the columns using plaster is a bit of serendipitous brilliance; as the natural crumble of plaster adds to the time worn decay effect.
Plaster Cast Roads = "All Roads lead to Rome and Hell has no Rome..."
Hummm... I think I might be able to recreate those columns with XPS foam... and cookie cutters or decorative piping tips.

I can just imagine coming across this scene, and the giant statue comes alive. Roll initiative.

For weapon bits, I would suggest just taking a box and putting in any extra swords etc. into a little box so its just all there when you need something like that.

I love that you added the broken wing tip to the base! I am currently repainting a reaper green dragon. I had already base coated n drybrushed him when one of my dogs thought his wings looked tasty. So I am currently modding n repainting him into a nearly dead dragon in battle. I did the same with several wing pieces n a claw n the tail.

I'm currently pretty lazy with painting progress, but I'm happy to say that I did an impromptu plinth for my creature caster spider demon out of a chewing gum package (which is block shaped) and DAS modeling paste. Just felt like trying and I feel it might look awesome when painted.

I love the theme! I'm always looking for stuff to do that's outside the norm. Whether it's role-playing settings or new craft projects. I'm glad you made it out of the slump.

Hellprove. I hope this is just the beginning. I was building my first diorama last month using the free Solar model from Loot Studios combined with the terrain using heavy osl effects. Using the models as actual statues is an awsome idea. I'll definetly try that next time. And now make more, 'cause this channel and your vids are a big inspiration! \m/

This concept would be amazing to do for like a center piece the depicts a clash between two deities. One being toppled by followers to be built over. Love it and REALLY want to try it for myself down the road to surprise my DM for 5e.

I think this is the 3rd time you've gotten me to go over to Patreon or a site to sign up for printable models... your sponsors need to give you a bonus for how well you sell them
