I remember picking up New Teen Titans annual 1, Captain Victory 6 and Daredevil 189 (top 5 cover of all time) on a blazing hot day at the Aquaduct flea market in Queens as a kid. I probably read Daredevil 190 a dozen times. Even as a kid, I understood the Elektra saga was over and the arc was complete. As a 53 who’s lived a life, I now find those last few pages amazing, in particular the TRIUMPHANT last page. Matt’s redemption of Elektra and the sacrifices involved are touching. The POWER of comic books. The greatest hobby in the world. Great show as always fellas. HAWKAAAA
Also that Pack Weighing happens to Pokémon cards the heavier packs have the specialty cards..I don’t know if it happens to Upper Deck stuff but that’s interesting it works the same way with the comic Feels like now any Mystery Bag comics could have potential to get weighed before opening
I had no idea the Myth Adventure series had a comic adaptation! The Myth Adventures of Skeeve and Aahz was not only well written and hilarious but held some really heartfelt advice on life and families. I totally agree with Richard and recommend it to my friends with kids every chance I get
Another great vid guys! I currently have 70 vintage books @CGC 50 of which just moved over to Grading/Encapsulation/Imaging stage...I even used CCS for C/P. The remaining 20 are still at CCS. They had a deal for Bulk in July and it was too good to refuse. Wish me Luck!
Miller stayed on DD for one more issue, and it was fantastic. He came back to write the Born Again arc 3 years later. He did do the Elektra Lives Again graphic novel for Epic - but my understanding is that it was not canon.
Hey guys, I nominate "Stig's Inferno" for criminally underrated series. Written and drawn by Ty Templeton, it was beautifully drawn and wicked fun. I haven't read it since it came out, so I definitely can't reveal any spoliers, but boy do I remember it fondly. If I knew which box I have 'em stashed away in, I'd go dig 'em out right now. Seven B&W issues in all... it was collected but I don't know if all 7 books are in there. And I also don't know if Ty tied up the story by series' end or if it he got called up to the big leagues and left the storyline incomplete. Regardless, it's so good that it's worth seeking out.
John, the stone roses shirt is wicked,Madchester was a awesome time for music!inspiral carpets too.and the o.g.s the Smiths!now show us your coctuea twins or my bloody Valentine shirts!
Can't wait for the Wednesday show to hear your take on the CBCS lawsuit. Richard, I have not seen that Madam Satan cover before, and I collect Archie horror. As a fellow Magic collector, that's very cool. Something to look for. John, stop pushing G.I. Combat. I will never complete my run if you hype the book too much. Working on the Quality era first, and I hope there are affordable copies left when I get into the 45-90 block.
Also, regarding Banananananangate, I have one book in the identified range for the warped wells. It does have a warped well. There is a mild curvature to the book. But here's the thing: it's the Bilquis Evely variant of Wonder Woman #800. That's a 48-page book with a cardstock cover. Why would it be in the "smallest well" for the "thinnest books"? Something is rotten in the state of Denmark. Or Florida.
I said this to someone just now, but I realize it applies to the entire community, so here: "Pressing, and other artificial processes disguise the true grade of books across the board. The value of books has been inflated long before this 'bending' incident, by people like you who have decided to superficially disguise flaws in books, so you can receive more money for them. The fact that some say that these bends are just 'pressing undone' says it all."
CGC won't admit their inner wells where too short. It's not just curving in the middle, they are pushing on the book from the top and the bottom, putting a crease in the spine! 100% their fault!
Hey guys I'm back! For my only comic flex I do have a Fantastic Four 1 CGC 1.0 that I bought two years ago and the value immediately tanked by 50% lol. Also, for the latest CGC controversy, they have confirmed size does matter I guess (insert side eye emoji here).
I have an opinion about CBCS’ lawsuit that is probably contrarian here. I can totally understand and sympathize with the company’s lawsuit against their ex-employees from working at PSA. Strategically, CBCS is trying to succeed in the comic book grading business against CGC who has a significantly greater market share. I suspect the fear being squeezed out of business by a new well-financed competitor. Despite having a great product, they could end up like BlackBerry did in the cell phone game.
Kudos to you, John and Richard, for steering clear of that Whatnot silliness.

We just picked up a coverless FF #1 at the shop! It goes really well with our coverless ASM 1 and our Showcase 22 with no back cover!

They don’t admit it because of lawsuits.

Don't tell people about G.I. Combat books I haven't got all the ones I need yet.

Amazed why people buy things they do not need. Caddle behaviour
