I can’t thank you enough for all the videos you put your heart and soul into. I recently purchased all new relays for my 1500 and I couldn’t be happier. You didn’t only supply me new and improved relays at a great price, but also piece of mind. I was left on the side of the road due to the ign relay, and that’s what prompted me to look for all new replacements. Awesome work Scott. All you’re efforts are greatly appreciated
I guess I was fortunate. My 1999 Goldwing had 378,000 miles on it and I never had a relay fail. In fact, I can’t recall any relays failing on any of the four GL1500s that I had over the years. I definitely know a bunch of people that it happened too though. Thanks for looking out for the Goldwing community.
I have an 08 Goldwing and I hit a pavement break at 70 mph. The bike completely shut down. Long story short, it was the fuel relay. After the dealership in Casper, Wyoming told me it was the main wiring harness. I knew better and rented a truck to get my bike back to Pennsylvania. My local Honda dealer found the problem right away. Needless to say now I carry extra relays.
Good info. Most Honda dealers don't have a mechanic that knows much about a GL1800. They can't or won't troubleshoot anything. I bet it took your mechanic 5 minutes to remove the seat and about 15 minutes to find the problem. Hang on to that mechanic!
Seven relays in a GL1500? I guess I'll need three or four more. I purchased four of your relays a couple years ago to replace one that was failing on mine. Works like a charm. Just an sob to get into to replace! Great design by Honda (NOT!) , but glad to have a more economical resource. Thanks Scott!
I had problems with these two items om my '86 Interstate., which the dealer wouldn't fix. The relay literally melted along with the wire insulation around it. I found an independent repair shop who bought the parts from the dealer and fixed it. No more problems.
Hi, I'm watching everything you say carefully, and thank you very much for the guidance, but I have a question related to ralanti de la gl1500,...It varies, I can say violently, could it also be because of a relay?
My Dad and my male children think I am crazy because the first thing I do with anything is READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. Then I go about building/assembling whatever project. Just one of my idiosyncrasies I guess. Sure is easier than getting halfway done and finding that you can't do step 9 because step step 4 was not completely done. As I always exclaim, "Read the 'destructions' first"!
Hello boss i own Honda GOLDWING valkyrie f6c 2014 if me leave him for 10 min no move and engine working i see sign of high temperature red ?? Oil is ok and water too ??? What could be the reason or that bike made to move only Waiting for your reply Thanks alot
The only problems I have with my 82, Gl1100, 83, Gl1100, 93, Gl1500, 82, Gl500, nobody wants to buy them, unable to ride 2 wheelers anymore, lots of life left in them.
I have an 88 gl1500 it has carb issues no one will touch my bike says it’s to old I can’t seem to get on the forum and was wondering if I could get anyone in Southern California San Bernardino that will work on it
I am getting to old to work on my Honda motorcycles anymore . Does any one know of a good mechanic in Garland texas area. Thanks. Honda dealers wont work on older motorcycles.
I have a GL1500, I started it up and the starter kept spinning, I tried turning it off and it wouldn't stop, not even with the key ! Is this a relay problem ? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
It's a failing starter relay (there are two). They are on the right side of the bike - rap them firmly with the handle of a screwdriver and it will usually knock it free and shut the starter off. Plan to replace it soon.

I bought one of the 7 Volt things for my '82 GL1100 - Worked like a charm. Followed the instructions. Gauges work perfectly. RTFM!
It's amazing how things work out when people do decide to RTFM. If 22 years in the military taught me anything, it's to RTFM.

Thanks for the great info. We need you to move into the 1800 generation.

Been meaning to order a couple 1500 regulators. This video was a great reminder; just ordered 2.
I think you mean relays. The 7V regulator is for the earlier GoldWing models. It definitely never hurts to carry spares.
Yea I did.@@scubarider1

Very cool, thanks for your help.
I will try it!
Honda blocked you from their source like Apple, etc. does today.
I also wonder how many of the issues are from people being color blind.
I do what I want.😂
