But like many other families loved each other and had times of conflict. The deeply sad and painful thing as Barry said, was losing his brothers at the moments when they were at odds with each other. They will always be part of me and I am very excited because I was born with them with their music in my ears in the 80 'and I was amazed when I saw them in a musical program in Spain called "Applause" where the Bee Gees appeared dressed in white in their native island , Island of men. It was an event I will never forget.👏👏👏
I saw them in concert in Chicago Amphitheater in the early 70's and just prior to their Saturday Night Fever fame. Loved them and thought they were something special even then!
They were hitmakers from 1967-79 though. 12 years. They even became big superstars in the mid-'70s. I think you mean "why didn't the critics like them?"

They were even given a hard time I think. Not the media’s favorites, it seems, which I’m sure kept them grounded and so likable. I didn’t grow up in a household where we listened to secular music but even I knew of the Beatles as an 80s kid. I just discovered The Bee Gees and I’m thanking God I came across them. Simply in love, can’t stop listening!
Barry's voice always sounds the most northern (English). It makes me smile when I can hear some Mancunian creeping in to his speaking voice now and then.
I love Barry positivity and strength..even through all the pain he went through losing his younger brothers he remain strong. In this life ...things happen..things we dont see cominf or expect ...changes that can turn our life up side down..bad things. But will either make you or break you. You ca hurt and even cry but don't allow that to consume your days, your life or it will eat away at you. And you are no good to yourself and others.
