Thanks for the mention! It was great to meet you and Janette. Thanks for taking the time chat on the day too. Looking forward to battling against you on your birthday!
No problem Gillan! Thank you for coming and saying hi! It was great to meet you too and chat, that’s one of the things I love the most about the in-person competitions 😍 ooo! You’re doing the comp on the 8th? Yay! It’s going to be great fun 🤩 good luck!!
How fun! Looks like you and Janette had a great time! Sucks about the ranking but I guess it’s a small price to pay for a day of puzzling with friends!
Yes, we did, it was lovely to see and puzzle with other puzzlers, that’s the best part about the in person competitions. It is unfortunate about the rankings, but I think there were something like 560 people all puzzling at once across two floors. In order to successfully do that, they would either have needed a lot more people, or to divide the puzzlers up into heats or something like that. It didn’t matter in the grand scheme of things - i was just happy to be puzzling with Janette again 🤩
Thank you! 🤩 I do like recording my daft intros and outros, I always laugh when I do 😆 Chipping away at the Wildlife puzzle - it’s coming along, slow, but sure. I just put a progress video out on it yesterday 😍
Sounds like you had a good time despite the fact that no times were noted for all the competitors. Difficult if there is a shortage of volunteers. I'm sure you and Janette thoroughly enjoyed meeting up again. I did that Puzzle Festival jigsaw and I found doing the puzzles on the table tricky. You can get the P*ssed as a Newt from the All Jigsaw Puzzles website. I pretty sure it is one of their own brand puzzles but I may be wrong! Look forward to your next video.
We had a great time! Yes, it was unfortunate about the lack of rankings, but the way they structure it, there are over 500 people puzzling all at the same time over two floors, so I think that would have been difficult to find all the volunteers needed for something of that scope. Maybe if they divide it into heats next time, they’d be able to do that 🤔 Yes, I found it on the All Jigsaw Puzzles website too, but I ordered it from Amazon so it would come the next day 😊 - I’m not sure that AJP was the brand of the puzzle in 2013 though - I didn’t recognise the box from the bbc article picture x
It’s great to see you and Janette compet!ing together again. I really like that puzzle! Did you mention the name and brand of the puzzle?? I wish you were going to Worlds. It’s not going to be the same without you!!!!
Thank you! It was fun to puzzle with her again! ❤️ So I did show and mention the names and brands of both puzzles - the first one I showed was called P***** as a Newt and it was by the brand All Jigsaw Puzzles. The competition puzzle that Janette and I did was Puzzle Festival and it was by the company Gibsons - Gibsons have sponsored the event from 2017 onwards. I hope that helps 😍 I really wish I was going too! Gutted that I can’t make it this year. I’ll be watching though, and hopefully doing some remote commentating too! ❤️
I really enjoyed this video! Thanks for sharing about your competition experience in the U.K. along with Janette. I wish such things were all livestreamed like the Worlds so puzzlers like me could at least see everything up close - to feel a part of it from a distance. I know its expensive, so not very practical, but if puzzling keeps growing like this, maybe it will happen soon. I haven't tried speed puzzling yet, but hope to do so, someday!
Thank you! I’m so glad you did! I wish they were livestreamed too - I am keeping hopes alive that there will be a WJPF recognised competition starting up here soon and that maybe I can try and figure out how to get it live streamed. 😃 I’ll never be a champion speed puzzler, but I do find it fun, and the in-person competitions are just so brilliant - meeting all the other puzzlers is just great 😍
@@Vickymakesandbuilds Hi again Vicky, Glad you laughed and I enjoyed laughing about your horse and your expert riding! I rewatched this video to laugh some more! 🙂Thank you very much for sharing your wonderful humor in addition to your excellent puzzling info! Happy horse riding, Jude
He he. Honestly it doesn’t really matter as long as you have fun - though I do enjoy speed puzzling, for me the best part is being surrounded by other lovely puzzlers ❤️
I considered going to this one but didn't due to several practical reasons. But after seeing yours and Janette's videos on it, I'm actually glad I skipped this competition. To travel internationally and to not even know where you placed would be quite an infuriating experience for me.
I do see what you mean - it was a little surprising for us too! I still enjoyed it, and Iove its origins and how it grew out of a passion for puzzles and to raise money. Having said that, I think for the competitors, it will be great when there is a WJPF recognised British Nationals in the future 😊
I couldn’t do one either but I enjoy relaxing with them. I love puzzling paintings there’s something magical about working on a beautiful piece of art.
I did catch the Witcher reference 😂 🪳 Now if only you had some coconut shells, it could have been a 2 for 1 😄 Well done! That definitely looks like a difficult image. I’m sure you all had a great time catching up!
Yaaay! You are the first! So happy you caught that. 😍 It’s funny you should mention the coconut shells, as it did cross my mind to do that. I just couldn’t get hold of them on short notice - that would have been such an awesome nod to Monty Python though! 🤣

Really enjoy these videos. I don't speed puzzle, but love to watch. It fascinates me

Hi Vicky, Love the intro's and outro's, you're always very entertaining, now get back to the Wildlife puzzle!

Don’t think I have the stamina to speed through… 😏 I do have an incredible ability to look forward to seeing any video that you share with us Vicky.
Aaw. Thank you so much Ruth, I’m glad you enjoyed it ❤️

I'm not a Witcher fan, but I am from Seattle. Loved your shirt!
Thank you! I got it on sale here in the UK 😆. I have seen Seattle from a distance, but not actually been in the city - I would love to though 😍
@@Vickymakesandbuilds happy to give you a tour of you ever make it this way. @laurenspuzzles. Chaos and Scoot are my cats

Hi Vicky, Love this video -- especially because you included your horse 🙂Happy puzzling, Jude
Ha ha! You are the first person to mention the horse! Lol. I laughed recording that bit 😍

I love these traditional Gibsons puzzles.
This one was a fun one ❤️
I am slow too even though I think it may be fun to get to meet other puzzlers
That’s by far the best part about the in-person competitions, meeting the other puzzlers ❤️
This is a fantastic video, loved the story about the church hall, I hope your all ok xx
Thank you! I’m so glad you enjoyed it ❤️
All good thank you! I hope you are good too 😍
The in puzzle comps always look fun, but I’m so slow it’s not even funny 😄

😍
I wouldn’t be doing a speed puzzling at all I’m really slow
I would say I’m average at best, but the in person comps are so much fun 🤩
Same! However, I would love to hang out with other people that love puzzles.
@@clarkkent7973yeah me too I’m really slow when it comes to a puzzle 🧩

Yes! That is the best part about these events ❤️
Logos and other things obscuring the image on boxes is Super Annoying.
Yes it is, and this box was so small! The poster was great, just so much brighter than the puzzle, which threw me a bit 😩
I did catch the Witcher reference 😂 🪳
