Ravensburger is smart to sponsor you. I wouldn't be nearly as interested in jigsaw puzzles if it wasn't for you and your channel. Ravensburger makes great puzzles, which is why the puzzles in my home are almost exclusively from their stock.
I was thinking it kinda indicates they’re a class act. Like, they’re sponsoring Karen because they realize how how good she’s been for them, not necessarily because they’re thinking she’s going to create a future windfall.
(Not to mention, I bet the puzzles she designed are some of their top sellers. They’re so luscious.)

@@dothedo3667 Ravensburger is a staple here in Germany (as it's a German company). They charge 10-15 Euros for 500-1000 pieces, that's not what I'd consider expensive.

@anders630 it's only been a month though since the 2024 jigsaw nationals happened. I watched the live when it did happen.
Good video but I saw good recap videos within days of the actual event, this is old news at this point.

@@ElizabethNicoleSchwartz Agreed, and I love Karen’s content, I’m just saying this far after the competition it looses some impact. Maybe she can get some editing help to get competition videos out in a more timely manner.
I was one of the Did Not Finish in individuals prelim 2. I was in Purgatory Produce from Hell for 2 hours. The worst 2 hours EVER. But I qualified for pairs finals and did finish with my partner in the time allotted. Let’s just say if I didn’t have a pairs partner and only did Individual round I would probably never do a competition again. My state doesn’t do competitions (yet) so this was my first experience and it didn’t boost my confidence. However, the weekend got better and I enjoyed myself as I was with my tribe of puzzle lovers so that made up for it! (And it was a plus to finish pairs finals!) After my Purgatory Produce from Hell experience I don’t time myself anymore! Congrats on all your accomplishments! It was fun to see you in person! And you got me in the video! Wow! (43:40 time mark)

@@robinbrown7953 [Edit: sorry, I read that as intentionally, not accidentally - please ignore XD] That would be like shooting himself in the foot. Not only would he intentionally give himself 40 extra seconds in penalty for missing them, but it's also much more difficult to find the right piece when you're missing neighbouring pieces and he could easily end up waisting time trying to find a piece that's litterally not there.

For sure. These competitions seem to really embody competitiveness without tearing others down from what these videos show. Seems awesome.
Also one thing for the first pairs prelim after everyone finished the last pair was these 2 older ladies Jeanne and Carole and everyone in the chat was cheering them on so much and we all know if they had like an half hour more they would’ve finished.
I totally was routing for them to finish on line when I watched live
I was also tricked by the yellows (those darn lemons!) and had a similar thought process around the 40min mark! The glare was particularly rough on the produce puzzle!

Hi Karen! I watched the livestreams but I really enjoy watching your recaps. I wanted to point out how nice it is that you put everyone's name on screen! It makes it easier to follow, during the livestreams it was sometimes hard to know who was who! And this one everyone is appreciated :)
The editing was phenomenal and well worth the wait! The camaraderie between the puzzling community is amazing and I love seeing new up-and-comers like Alice and Kathi shock the world. Also really enjoyed hearing your banter with Tiffany during the pairs prelim. Can't wait to watch the other Nationals videos when they are ready!

I have never watched puzzles competition before, but the UA-cam algorithm recommended you and I really loved it! The pace and the commentary is so nicely done , and I really like the data presentation too.

Loved your recaps! Luckily, I was able to watch the entire all lives during the event. Loved chatting with other views and the sweepstakes. Hopefully as speed puzzling continues to get more popular more contests, such Canadian National (May 4-5), Finnish Nationals (May 18-19), etc. will be live streamed.

Karen, your channel has already motivated me to have another go at puzzling. The competitions look like great fun so I'm aiming to enter one eventually, but I want to get to the point where I can do so without completely embarrassing myself... of course I'm never actually going to win but I do at least want to avoid being the only person who doesn't finish!
Thus far I clearly still have a long way to go - possibly because one of the puzzles I'm trying is of Monet's Water Lilies painting. It's basically all shades of green and blue, so unsurprisingly it's a bit difficult and it's taking me absolutely ages.
I am living through your videos on these championships, and the videos are just getting better and better. Some parts of this was legit NERVE WREAKING too watch combined with perfect thriller music, chef's kiss 😘👌
My favorite puzzles will always be food related so the sushi one was very pleasing 🍣🍥🍲

Hi Karen, Just wondering, why don't have any video editor in to help you out? seems like such a huge project to create this video on your own. I hope you don't get burn out. The editing looks fantastic BTW and i like your coverage of competitions better than the official livestreams.
I really loved putting Jazzy together with a friend. We've never puzzled together before and we're not speed puzzlers. She was game to give it a go. I set a two hour time and off we went. We didn't complete it, but did get 471 pieces together. We both feel we probably would have if we were at the competition.
