- This is a fantastic composed pair of Boss Shotguns. These old English Hammer shotguns by Boss and Co are all original.
Each Boss shotgun has been beautifully made and a huge amount of craftsmanship and detail has been put in to each of these English game guns. #shotgun
These Boss and Co Shotguns are in a two tier travelling case in best Oak and Leather.
On the top of this shotgun case is a Thomas Bland & Son receipt label, along with two Great Western Railway labels. Showing just a bit of the life that this Boss shotgun has lived. #12gauge
Boss and Co, Purdey Shotguns and Holland and Holland can all give thanks to Joseph Manton, where they each learnt their trade. Great thanks can be given to Joseph Manton for the way he helped shape the way these beautiful English shotguns were made, by these very well know English gunmakers.
Inside the shotgun case is a James Woodward & Sons trade label.
There is also part of a James Purdey shotgun worksheet, which is dated 2-2-49.
Boss and Co shotguns are one of the elite English gunmakers and we will go on to list some of the feature of this pair of English hammer guns.
These beautiful Boss shotguns feature original damascus barrels, back action locks, half cock hammers and Jones under levers.
This pair of English Boss shotguns are still in their original stocks, with original steel heel plates.
Also included in the box are a selection of reloading tools and a pair of Boss shotgun snap caps which were purchased by a customer for us to put in with this pair of shotguns.

We have dated this composed pair of Boss shotguns to 1864 and 1976. Within this shotgun review video we explore the slight differences between the two shotguns, which include slightly different engraving patterns and different Damascus patterns.

Bloody hell, what beautiful things those guns are! Looking at those barrels reminded me that English swordsmiths were twisting metal together like that about 1,500 years ago, so it seems this country has had a history of beautiful and functional metalworking stretching back to what used to be called the Dark Ages.
They are absolutely fantastic works of art.
