    You should use bolts with an allen wrench hole inside the rim to retain them, or you could move the welded nut to inside the rim and grind something you could hold with a wrench on the short end while the nut acts as a retainer. If it fails it's likely to throw a bolt at high speed right at you.

    Zeb GREAT JOB love the the lathe chuck.. Do you have prints to make one? Would love to get a set. I think that is one of the best on you tube.. 2 generation wood worker says can lean something every day. Richard

      Brain is normally sized, it’s just that its full with with screws, nuts, bolts and a whole bunch of sawdust I suppose 😄

      Sure! Use something harder than plywood for the jaws though....I' m not totaly satisfied with the hold...

    What s the name of metallic part u insert in 4 jaws... to make it advance or retreat caused by a rotation?

      that thing at 02:13 ? Its called a T Nut.
      The mechanism to make the jaws move is just a threaded rod with a nut that works like a vise.

    Sadly.... Wood Lathes seem DENEGRATED. MARGINALIZED. VICTIMIZED.
    ANCIENT.SLOW.BORING.SHUNNED.
    A child of 10 could learn this stuff.
    Cereal box paper.... white glued onto a faceplate....
    To make 10" diameter 8" deep Mahogany Nutbowl in my first HighSchool WW project.
