Lol I went to Provine High School in Jackson, Mississippi. This was our version. All our songs were from SU. Our band director at the time was an SU alumni. He played trumpet for the Juke. Brings back so many good memories hearing this. Remembering those bus rides to the games, the jitters marching onto the field for the halftime show, cranking on Jim Hill year after year, practice, and going against our rival Calloway High School.
@BuckTrombonist I have two cameras. When indoors I use a Canon HV20 cause it can handle the sound. When outside I use a Sony HDRSR5 Hard drive cam for it's capacity. Thanks
@Poppa713 The reason this arrangement sounds like the one you played in highschool is because every band in the country does one of three things. Buys, Steals, or Copies this exact arrangment.
the best music but da battle againist tallagenda, torondo,as JSU ,ALCORN STATE BAND but FAAMU still bigger but MORRIS BRWN COLLEGE SOMETHING ELSE I TOTALLY MISSED IT 04 YRS
i know su is like a million times louder than that and i always bash them when they play soft but got damit they sounded good and i see this was a band room performance and you can never match game time intesity with bandroom run downs but all in all i enjoyed the clip great job go jagsgo
Cold Hearted Snake.... no band is a band with out this song to my ppl who r in a band u will know... they straight did this song dirty please come to Pasquotank County High School and show us a little somethin just to let u knw imma play for SOUNTHERN UNIVERSITY!!!!!!!!! I LUV THIS BAND!!!!!!!!!! sumbdy go on my page and leave me the band directer name so that i can set up a date for them to come to my school
@IzzySpiffyx3 they use to be nothing but brass and percussion back when the band was mostly males but that was a long time ago. but you can hear the woodwinds you just have to listen closely. this is a brass band so most of the music they play is run by the brass section. if you want to hear their woodwinds look up this band playing two hearts, nobody suppose to be here and love all over me or any other ballad
sounds so good nd clean the vid is awesome quality even in is owest put it i hd trnu speaers nd volume al the way up feels as if urthere if u speakers like mines at least
I'm sorry y'all.... 94....96....99..2001 up until 2004 they murdered this song...if they played it this fall coming up though... it's over because articulation is ridiculous and power is consistant.
What exactly does the SU Drum Major do other than ceremonial/performance duties? I find it hard to imagine that one man could manage a whole band. Or maybe I'm ignorant and their drum majors are just that exceptional. Its just that I've never seen the SU Drum Major very active
This is probably the most copied SU arrangement besides Neck that SU has. For those who have "heard" the song, Where is the SU baritone part found in the Song? Is it a prominent lick that is present throughout the whole song? Any band who plays that part obviously drew "inspiration" from SU's arrangement.
What happened to the " run" part in this song ? o.k. Check out the Ocean of Soul master this song against J.State in 2005 . Pure talent and skills !! " Whoosh " !!
first of all it's stating not stateing, secondly, who are the royal knights and why did you feel the need to state their version is better on this video ?
Heck yea. If SU would convert to like 20k's or conns they would domanate and sound sooooo much fuller wen they crank up parts like Snake Espn vice versa headbussas.
Still rushed and I agree @mustang20XII , there really isn't much you can do to arrange thisnsong other than throw in rhythms that aren't even in the song.
OMG I LOVE SOUTHERN! i WILL be in that band one day..BEST BELIEVE!
same
Sooooo…. How you doin?

@Poppa713 The reason this arrangement sounds like the one you played in highschool is because every band in the country does one of three things. Buys, Steals, or Copies this exact arrangment.

@roscoep78 i aint gone lie, i had to "borrow" that percussion part for my band's version. that jukebox drumline make u wanna just bob your head to it.
fuck :O......amazing!!!!!!!!!
@anonymousowa1 at southern only the band directors are allowed to direct the band. the drum major pretty much only handles things on the field
man dis go hard
dam that shit is hurting my eyes nice cam dude
sounds so good nd clean the vid is awesome quality even in is owest put it i hd trnu speaers nd volume al the way up feels as if urthere if u speakers like mines at least
Hardest song I have ever heard any Marching Band play and I haven't played in twenty years.
I'm sorry y'all.... 94....96....99..2001 up until 2004 they murdered this song...if they played it this fall coming up though... it's over because articulation is ridiculous and power is consistant.
