I love how they compare a trombone fanfare to an arrangement for a whole band, yes j-state bones go hard on that fanfare but this arrangement uses the whole band to capture the full emotion of the original song, I've listened to a lot of bands, hbcu and pwc but I've yet to see any arranger do what Haymer and Carnell Knighten did for their bands

Best Arrangement played by ANY band in quite some time...way to bring the musicality and excitement back to marching bands SU. Don't get me wrong, bands like SU and FAMU has always been on top, BUT organizations that fail to embrace change will become obsolete. SU is changing while holding on to its roots. SU sound is phenomenal and this is the best they have EVER sounded in my opinion. They've been sounding better and better every year from 2008 (the first year of major sound change) - Present.

What are you talking SU has great dynamics they only play loud on the Chorus because it is the CLIMAX of the song and they play softly and smoothly on the lyrics so you can groove and then they slowly get louder in the hook then BAM full out power and beautiful sound in the Chorus sooo I don't know what you're talking about.
It's gotta be fun writting for a band that can play anything you put on the paper in terms of range and technical facility. Man I'm at the wrong level. To freely arrange and know that it will come out as you hear in your head without many if any adjustments needing to be made. Directing on the collegiate levels has to be a breeze in comparison to high school or middle. Gotta get on board at somebodies university.
