I like this guy. He'll ask Rita a question then stays quiet so she can answer completely. That's rare these days..
Love this woman. I can't believe how many people disliked this. Makes me wonder what kind of people they are. Rita is an amazing woman with class and calming wisdom.
She’s pure, unadulterated class and very humble about her own gigantic level of talent.
Life has a way of beating us up , I’m in my late seventies now and as the Apostle paul says our outer bodies are wasting away but our inner bodies are being renewed daily . It’s quite a journey this thing called life , However as a believer I’m looking forward to a new life because I received Christ into my life and looking forward to being in heaven...🙏
Amen brother!! While it’s good to look back at these memorable people, it doesn’t compare to looking forward to heaven. The rapture couldn’t come too soon for me!!
A beautiful woman, a superb musician, singer and song writer and also an highly advanced intellectual. I am looking forward to read her autobiography.
Good book
I love when she gets interviewed and the interviewer listens and gives her all the time to answers the questions. That book interview on Delta Girl was awful with the two announcers putting out wrong music on Layla and kept interrupting her and then would finish her sentences. She is such a soft spoken artist and has much to say with such a great memory. Great musician Rita. We love and respect you so much.
What a beautiful spirit she has!! Loved her since the 70's!! Gorgeous voice!! Nothing like the duets of Rita, and Kris..Not surprised they are still close!!
Unusual but nice to see a female celebrity letting herself age naturally. Unlike Cher, Jane Fonda, Dolly Parton, Stevie Nicks, etc.
Perhaps her gens let her not to worry... Unlike the other s
You don't think Cher has aged naturally? 🤣
I agree, Rita seems like a very down to earth person. She's still lovely!
Yes she looks great!
Pure class, I’ve loved RC for years!
I like like she speaks old style, slowly and well pronounced! 👍
She is still beautiful and one of the best female singers of her generation. Lover her music.
So beautiful and intelligent. Such a soft comforting voice.
Lovely Rita. The Delta Lady..
Historic insight...
God bless her!
Loved her and Kris together they looked and sounded BeAUtiFuL 💞🌸💞🌸🎵🎶🎤
I still listen to "Full Moon" the album I love the most that Rita and Kris did. So good to see her still up and around, still kicking when so many are sadly gone.
I was a teenager when "My crew" was released, my cousins and I sung that song so often... it became an anthem to us...40 years later I've yet to reconnect with the cuzzies to revive the music of that era...something to look forward to.
I have always loved Rita's music!!! I got to see her at The Stanfest music festival in Nova Scotia and she was superb!! She sings with such passion and grace. Rita you are an excellent example of what class is! We do love you!
Such a lovely and respectful interview. I really enjoyed how the interviewer engaged Rita in conversation. Very relaxing!
Yes!! Agreed!
He allowed Rita to speak.Watch and learn most other music world interviewers.
Makes me love this album even more ! Keon Russel one of Americas finest singer song writer RIP to Joe and leon
WOW WOW WOW !!!!!!
From a mad keen 75yo Aussie fan.
What a great interview of an exceptional lady & musician.
My dear wonderful Rita Coolidge..I'm 71yrs and a huge fan of you! Thank you! You are so honest/sincere!..Love you!
Rita, an all around class act.
She is more attractive now than ever. Some people age well.
Awesome interview 👏 thank you both so much. 💗
Love her tone of voice,,she's really a good artist
What a classy lady.
Awesome woman. Musical Icon.
A very good interview with this lovely lady.
The greatest moment I have as a singer is when someome tells me I made their day or hhat no one ever sings to them. It's love.
Just discovered her and bought her first album.
Holy shiet , Cher is no where near Rita's beauty and takent.
OMG I HAD NO IDEA THAT RITA&CHRIS HAD AN OFFSPRING, ALWAYS LOVED THEM BOTH, ( AND A DAUGHTER AT THAT, A MASTERPIECE FOR SURE)
what a treasure . I loved it so when Rita , Nicholette ,, Claudia and others would sing powerful back up vocals
Nice interview. Her song "All time high" is one of my all time favourites. And the fact that it was almost incongruously featured in the James Bond movie "Octopussy" makes it all that more attractive. It's the combination of memories from the 80s, and the intersection of worlds in the movie( Indian locales plus European) makes her song evocative and memorable.
Great interview! Some of the best questions.
Higher and Higher. Sounds like her love is lifting lots of people too.
Wow! How beautiful! Such a beautiful Spirit/Soul! Rita has made the earth a better place!!!
She and the rest of the ladies on the song Space Captain where absolutely awesome as a young man I was star struck. Love her so much and her heritage A'ho. Being 1/6th Comanche.
WOW... great interview(er) with an awesome lady.
What a special blessing to share
❤❤❤✌️✌️✌️🙏🙏🙏
I had been wondering about her. Thanks!
she's such a drastic opposite than Madonna..Rita is sober and interesting not Madonna or Katy Perry and Britney Stupid Spears
Rita is a staggering talent and a major mover & shaker of 70's rock. A year after this interview she did another interview in which she talked about more of her career and about how she was ripped off for her part in the writing of "Layla". She actually wrote the music for that song and her then (and abusive) boyfriend took her music to the Layla sessions in Miami and wound up using it for the title song, a song that is now acknowledged as one of the anthems of rock and roll. Even if she will never be paid she should be acknowledged for her contribution to that famous song! And BTW, Duane Allman devised the guitar parts and taught them to clapton and even gave him a Strat to play them on....that guitar later became famous as clapton's "Blackie" which he had not returned to Duane due to Duane's passing. Such are the intricacies of the music biz.
a
You're referring to Jim Gordon who got sole credit for the piano part?
I read somewhere that Leon was on piano for the original studio version, Derek & the Dominoes. Is that right?
Yeah, I hear that also. I wasn't there, can't find pics . . .
Are you from Nawlins? I had a good friend, long time friend, who was big on the music scene there in the 80's, punk. Michael Pastor. Do you know him, or of him?
No. It was Gordon.
shes a gem
Everyone says "look at their cheekbones" lol. Well, look at Rita's cheeks. She has no prominent cheekbones, huh? Flat as can be. She has a long white woman's face. She's not a ᏣᎳᎩ and never was. ᎠᏂᏣᎳᎩ
@@StevenOsburnHollywood She is OBVIOUSLY Native American. She looks just like the Comanches/Kiowas (I know she's Cherokee.) You need your eyes checked.
Still a beautiful human.
excellent interviewer!
Words can't describe this beautiful woman alot of class
Class all the way !!!
Six years later, the Mad Dogs and Englishmen reunion documentary is out

She's very down-to-Earth.
She is is my spirit animal...
She's a ᎦᏰᎪᎩ ᏲᏁᎦ. White liar. Armenian like Cher and not a Cherokee. Her monring song is pure bullshit and not a word of it is Cherokee.
@@StevenOsburnHollywoodNot a put down, but how do you know?
@@StevenOsburnHollywood I took one look at her and knew she was Native American. And why are you so heavily invested in this idea? Go check your eyes.
I so remember her from " Pat Garrett & Billy The Kid " . And, from " Midnight Special " , 1975. ---------------------WolfSky9, 73 y/o
Love Rita!
She really could have made a MINT by reading for audiobooks. That voice would keep me 100% engaged!
Late to the party…heading to get the book. She’s incredible.
Kris and Rita sounded so soothing and soulful.
Rita Coolidge played in Greenville NC. Fairly small renovated church building. Came out late, due to lost shoe!
RITA FAYE I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU...THANK YOU❤️
Lovely heart....
Sigue siendo hermosa, la amo.Es muy dulce. Me gustaría que lo supiera.
How VERY Special !
WOW, NO wonder "Mad Dogs and Englishmen" was my favorite, all time favorite best band, music, of all time!
Man she is beautiful inside and outside .
Getting older does suck. I could say more, but wont. It was just yesterday she was singing her big song played all day here in the bay area. Right there with KC and the Eagles ....
Jim Gordon did Rita wrong on multiple levels, physically, mentally, and stole her song Time which was used as the beautiful coda at the end of Eric Clapton’s Layla. Such a graceful lady.
Love Rita . Love her music.
The interviewer seems clueless about what she's talking about. He probaby wasn't even born yet during Mad Dogs

Love Rita Coolidge you can hear the 45rpm record "Mary Lou by The Creative Force " on utube

great soft rock artists are more difficult too find now on radio.
Soft rock? Better check out Delta Lady!
To me she's just pure class, and always seems so level headed. For male artists Robert Plant is kind of the same way. Totally interesting to listen to and like Rita very grounded for everything they have been through. I think if you are an entertainer and you start having serious fame that if you are smart you really need to set some rules and boundaries, at least for the things that you can control, because if you don't there's just so many bad things and ppl that will bring you down. Put another way The other Stones have probably hated Jagger at different times but without his mostly level head and his mind for business I doubt they would have stayed together all this time.
I whole heartedly agree in regard to Rita...Leon Russel and Kris Kristofferson would be her counterparts.
The Delta Lady.....the "Grand Dame".
💐🌷
I think she means the Moore brothers, Daniel & Matthew, rather than the Matthews brothers.
Love that she's a fan of Taylor Swift! LOL! Me too!
Such a beautiful woman...And when is Eric Clapton going to give her credit for the "Layla" piano coda that he STOLE from her song, "Time"?!..I look at him in such a different light since I heard about that...Be a man, and do the right thing by her, ERIC!
Yes, he should do the right thing by Rita. Rita has told everyone who would listen of the theft of her music, but CLAPTON has done NOTHING. Tells us fans a lot about the man. Remember that, and spread the word, so that we can hit him where it hurts - $$$$. Don’t pay for his music!!!
@@frankiebutler2894 Eric Clapton is loaded you won't hurt him it's kind of late now
Clapton got slapped by the covid spike proteinzzzzz ...good, or bad karma
the host needs to drop by a shoe shine stand on the way to the studio..
Was it Joe or Leon????? Same story
P0
She looks a lot like Stevie Nicks here.
Nope Stevie can’t hold a candle to her
@@marcstewart8730 Rita has a much lovelier personality than Stevie.
Its all natural with Rita. She looks & sounds great!
She should wear scarves.
Why?
Why would she wear a scarf in a studio????
Jerk
...and perhaps you should wear a muzzle...🤐
Wtf is wrong with you ,are you inbred or what?
I thought Rita was going to add more claims of songs she wrote that she had nothing to do with.
