- Mango is one of the most popular of all tropical fruits. But, Where do mangos come from? Mangos were first grown in India over 5,000 years ago. And today we have thousands of variety of mangoes spread across the length and breath of this country. As the Mango season is underway, we talk to Jai Prakash, Principal Scientist, Division of Fruit and Horticultural Technology at ICAR-IARI and Hemant Kumar Mahure, Dev Bhoomi Enterprise, Pusa Produce Sale Centre, IARI Pusa Campus, New Delhi
to understand how the growing heatwaves might cause a concern to our national fruit.

This year because of the heatwave and temperature reaches 47 to 49 in utter Pradesh two fruits are mostly affected . Banana and Mango . High temperature affects the yield , size and colour.
In spite of the fact that Mango has an Indian origin and is cultivated widely with bulk output, it is beyond common man's reach. Its cost per kg is so steep that a common man has to think twice for cherishing it on regular basis. One must first make own people self-sufficient before exporting and going for foreign exchange. It is really pity that a common man has to think twice before purchasing the simplest variety at Rs. 80/--100/- per kg.
Give me mango and make it organic! 🥭
Thanks for the episode ❤

Heat bearing mangoes ?? , only if human survive to eat them. The way these temperatures are going up each year, even cactus are not surviving and this guy is optimistic.
Humein climate change ke saath adapt karna h par us se zyada important h , apne paryavaran ko bachana. Is se climate change se joojhna zyada aasan hoga. Don’t cut forests …. They r already under onslaught by greedy government, hand in glove with corporates.
