    Excellent work Peter..
This kind of work experience should be the part of school & college curriculum.
I would love to do this on my farm in konkan.
I would need your guidance ..

You are truly blessed. Thank you for respecting and protecting Mother Nature. It's my dream to grow my own food naturally so as to have fresh reserves and healthy food everyday. God bless you and your forest... Thanks for sharing.

ecological balance? besides, humans are not natural food for 99.99999 percent of snakes.
they attack only when they're physically hurt by you, or cornered completely. only in self defence.
all you need to do is keep a torch if you're walking after dark, and stamp your feet rather heavily as you go.
and all "other reptiles" are great at keeping insects in control! there are no venomous lizards in india contrary to superstition.

I have a silly question. Any tips for mulching for backyard areas within a plot where a house is to be built. Don't have acres and can't afford. But can I do something meaningful within the available space. Let us say conditions are similar to Chennai/Pondicherry. Any tips are welcome.

When I saw the dried coconut leaves my first thought was snakes. How do you keep snakes, scorpions away.?

    • @krypt0z
      @krypt0z 5 років тому

My thought exactly. In fact, I thought they made it slow motion around that time and something was going to jump out from the heap. Maybe just my imagination!

    • @bongkaku

It will be impossible for the snakes to breed where the ducks live. Cases of intrusion from beyond the boundaries might be exceptional I believe.

ecological balance? besides, humans are not natural food for 99.99999 percent of snakes.
they attack only when they're physically hurt by you, or cornered completely. only in self defence. they can be cornered only by a right angled cement wall, not in the garden.
all you need to do is keep a torch if you're walking after dark, and stamp your feet rather heavily as you go.
and all "other reptiles" are great at keeping insects in control! there are no venomous lizards in india contrary to superstition. and scorpions too are easily avoided with slippers and a torch. if you're thrusting your hand into the heap of dry coconuts they will only hide deeper into it, leave them alone and they have no business with such monstrous apes as ourselves. scorpions are the only creatures that regularly prey on ants.
and no, no self respecting creature "jumps out" to attack a human! even a tiger would think several times before doing that!

pooja singh Find a small plot of land. Place grass clippings, or tree branch clippings, or if you don’t have these, just use vegetable kitchen scraps. Spread them out over the ground. Then wait a year. In the course of the year the scraps will decompose and go into the bare soil. Don’t worry about finding plants. The plants will find you. When the soil improves, weeds will begin to grow. Once weeds begin to grow, you have a self sustaining garden. The weeds will die off and mulch the ground so you don’t have to mulch anymore. Once the weeds start to grow big, it is time for you to plant your seeds or small starter plants appropriate for your climate.
My backyard was bare soil from gardeners blowing all material away for years. By throwing tree branches and cut grass down, and waiting three years, I had a place to grow plants.
