  • How do we defend people's freedom and dignity against authoritarianism, when the "law of war" doesn't seem to apply anymore? In the face of the Russian occupation of Ukraine, human rights lawyer and Nobel laureate Oleksandra Matviichuk considers this question every day. Exposing the failures of the international system of peace and security, she highlights the capabilities of ordinary people during extraordinary times - and urges us all to take an active position in the struggle for freedom. Moving, intelligent, informative, and completely accurate. Thank you for such a powerful talk, Ms. Matviichuk. 💛💙 Just as you said, Western democracies must support Ukraine to win, and we have failed to help end this invasion -- this war -- swiftly. Thank you also, for making it crystal clear what it means to "live under occupation." Russia must be held accountable for their war crimes in Ukraine, and in many other countries which they have occupied. Yes, same with Lukashenko.

Ukraine should win otherwise it should be occupied. Occupation is not end of the war, it's enother state of war with tortures, sexual violence and more death.
