Did a bit of research and found that the german version is based on an American version of the 50's by the Weavers: "Kisses sweeter than wine" which was adapted from Lead Belly's "If It Wasn't for Dicky" (1937), who was supposed to have learnt it from an Irish friend which called it "black cow" and was about a farmer that was sad because his cow had died. I also found that such tune is indeed related to the traditional Irish folk tune "An droimfhionn donn dilís" from last century. It is amazing how good music travels through the ages. Bent's version is just the last iteration of this brilliant tune. The german lyrics just make it lovely....
Hello, search: Weavers- "Kisses sweeter than wine", I think you will be amazed as I was the first time when I heard it. From BENT Kisses I started too:)
As much as I like the version I came to know first (the electronic one by Bent), one has to admit that this has more elegance. In electronic music both the producers and the listeners tend to forget that those sampled songs have been composed by some musicians and writers: German Lyrics: T. Hansen, Music: J. Newman As a german speaker I can say: the words have a sense of poetry, and they have style... I also like the accompaning orchestra. After all, it is more musical than the computer generated arrangement :-)
@ Damnyourpassword: it was exactly the same to me. Came over from bent and I am amazed by this old song which was very likely to have been listened to by my grandparents in the 1960s. Nana should redo this song and this time rather in moll tunes.

I can’t speak much German, but I’ve found it to a beautiful language to listen to - I hear people say it’s aggressive or blunt but I’m not sure I agree
@@Roserytemptation It can be, like most languages; it can also be gentle. Listen to Mireille (yes, even her) singing the Lorelei tune, for example. And a lot of Nana's German is gentle too.

Wow😍
Had to pause my playlist to come find the original. Thanks Bent.
My hubby works with Simon Mills' dad. Bent's take on this is wonderful, we both love it.
Warum gefällt mir dieses Lied so unglaublich? Nur GOTT weiß es...
Dulce Nana. Una diosa en cualquier idioma. Desde Argentina
She has a most unique voice. Such quality of voice. I cannot compare her to anyone A true master of her craft. Beautiful beyond belief.
Wicky Wickywicky, completely agree. Such pure voice
Weil du mein Leben so ganz erfüllst
Mit den Küssen mmh süßer als Wein
Nur mit deinen Küssen süßer als Wein
❤
Nana's voice is so light, airy, and pure. Most heavenly voice. GREAT ARTISTS LIVE FOREVER! 😍👼😇
It brings me on a such a mellow mood and romantic... Make s me imagine how the love stories were in 60's
Kusse susse als wein I bought this record many years ago still one of my fav. LP's Jimmy Rogers had an English version in the charts in the 50's.
Came here from Bent too... Very very nice tune.

Also came here after listening to Bent's remix. I thought from the start this song is somewhere from 40's.

I love this sound
The diva of the world
Is there more really, more romantic song.
Merci!
Wow....... never realised!

yeah Peter, it seems sometimes that time doesn't pass for some things..
J adore this Nana's music period! UTUBE SMILE BY JOHN BAVAS
oh, wow :)
I've been here before thanks to Bent, and now I'm back thanks to the movie Sans Soleil. It doesn't play the exact same version, but still.
Beautiful
Wo bist du?
Isn't her voice STRONG here! (Is it 1967?)
Come from bent :)
Wow
Didnt know it was nana

Bellisimo
I too came here from Bent
Bent taught me Nana and Anne Murray...
Leavin' me is the ultimate!
Adam Murphy Absolutely !!! Leavin Me is my favorite Bent song ever and quite possibly my favorite song ever !
Also came here from Bent. Easier to understand her in this one. nice
If here is a native german speaker would he/she be kind and give a opinion about her pronunciation? Because if i am correct she doesn't speak german.
She is from greece origin.. But she speak perfectly german
Its a bit of shlager
She pronounces some words wrong but with intention.
Sei ruhig, da du uns fertig machst.
In my opinion (as a German native) sometimes songs sung by non Germans sound much more lovely, litely and melodic than German usually sounds like.
🤩💋🌹🎶💕❤️💜🍀
