Martin Lewis actually came across a lot better on the 2nd watch. A bit of an ego which they rightly made him pay for, but he's also genuinely trying to help people by sharing useful info even from the difficult platform of the host of HIGNFY.
Ive watched this show for decades and I've never seen so many jokes made by the host in relation to that host in one episode.. Sooo many references to himself... Then the odd one out was about him and even his bloody website in the missing words round.. The whole episode was him saying "me me me"
Lewis getting rinsed because he could not resist being genuinely cringe was funny. He tried to stay in his lane but ego caught him and they called him on it. Amazing.
They got one fact wrong at 25:55. Papua New Guinea does not have a president. The head of government is the prime minister and the head of state the governor-general.
@36:00: To be fair, air fryers are frigging awesome. I rarely use my stove anymore, and it's *so* much better for reheating certain products like pizza. The microwave will turn those slices floppy. while making other breaded foods rough to chew.
There's a lot of hype around them, and most of it is BS. However, they are definitely better than a microwave for anything that's not liquidy. Then again, I always used a toaster oven for that.
I don't have an oven, or a microwave, or a toaster, just an air fryer oven. Only problem with it is that you have to turn food over, other than that, it's amazing.
About 18mths before air-fryers really took off, I purchased an almost brand new Breville bench-top oven/toaster for a great price, so I'd been using it to cook all sorts of food from frozen fish & chips, to roasts. However, when competitors began selling all kinds of air-fryer models, I found it rather amusing that Breville just made an updated version of my oven but with an extra setting on its fancy LCD display, plus they included a mesh tray for doing food like fish & chips, without having to turn them!
Yes it's all a marketing gimmick to get people to buy another appliance. The sandwich maker of its day. We had all the hype in the States a few years back and now you hardly ever hear anyone mention air fryers and many of them go unused. One of the most common items in thrift stores and on eBay.
I have this Breville toaster oven too in the US (California) and this is exactly what happened 😅 I do really like it overall but the air fryer setting is just “super convection” with the mesh tray, but it works for me since I don’t air fry much and it is good for cooking so many other things
The Irish national party guy is known as Littler as in lilltle 'itler. There's a lot of comedy around them including having €400k worth of gold 'stolen' from the party safe by party members. Anyway, Littler was removed as leader last year but he says that's not possible under the party's rules. Living up to the Littler name.
I seem to remember a HIGNFY from a few years back where Steph mentioned meeting Donald Trump. So perhaps Trump was fulfilling his Steph McGovern fantasies with Stormy Daniels. Who is the host? I presume he has some sort of financial/consumer advice show, but I have no idea who he is. Perhaps why the show was more about the host promoting himself than any previous show, the lengthy bit about him not approving of air fryers being perhaps the most egregious example. I love the show, but I found this wasn't one of their best.
