Wacky Wormin’ Big Spring Bass!

- A relaxing day on one of my favorite lakes spring fishing for big bass! You might find a wacky rigged senko tied on one of my rods at any time throughout the year, but late spring and early summer they're especially effective when bass are up shallow. They can't resist the twitch twitch slow fall and some of my best days of fishing have been early summer wacky wormin'!

Lookie there,no jet skis,no idiots blasting through in their overpowered motor boats. It's just you, in your kayak, listening to the birds chirping and making more memories for yourself and us. May your line remain wet, your rod bent, and your net always dipping.
So well said ,dude I went to a new spot last weekend and I had to yell at three different boats for driving way to close to the bank and our lines WAY TO FAST .I felt like a dam Karen and I ususally don’t care about that as long as they give us our space. But that was insane .I even told the rangers like dude do I people have anyone on the water.I saw numerous violations and could tell most were drinking and driving heavily.Ruined the trip with the kids big time .Anyways that place is off my list and it’s to bad cause it was a great looking place
90% of the lakes up here in MN is like that. Its nice. Bass are dumb and plentiful too 😂.
I think these folks that get the boats and jet skis figure they come with water rights to which ever body of water their on.@@FishingForQuality13
Fr it's perfect ❤
@FishingForQuality13 I live in Maryland, and feel lucky that most of our lakes are water supply lakes that ban gas powered motors. Electric or paddle craft only. It's so much more relaxing.
Best fishing UA-cam channel
Now I would say yes. A year ago no .
For sure
Go green
Fishing without the electronics is a more pleasant experience, rather than starring at a screen. I like the clicker drag on the new reel!
yyyyeeaaahhh
It's officially a Saturday morning when NDYakangler post a video.
It’s so cool to see someone go through the process of figuring out the pattern and then crushing it! You earned every one of those fish
I absolutely love the solitude of your videos. You don’t clutter them with too much speaking, but when you do talk, it’s valuable.
You never use any offensive language. That is impressive!
How soft are you?
@@BK-zp8vl What need for foul language?
I appreciate that.
@@RideAcrossTheRiverDid you know that a study claims that swearing can be a sign of intelligence, creativity, and honesty? Proclaiming "fudge" after an injury actually helps people manage the pain. Crass language definitely has a time and a place, but don't be so quick to dismiss someone with diction that doesn't fit your ideal.
@@SpaceGhost- Did you know you're a bullshitter?
Saturday morning fishing shows like this make my day!
Right. Mine too.
Nothing better to get over yesterday’s skunk than watching a NDYak video where he crushes it!
I will never understand how you catch fish without an $80k boat with a minimum of $15k in electronics!😂 Always great content!
He’s a real G
Just caught my first bass on a plastic worm this week! What a coincidence! Thank you Matt for your awesome videos!
Quickest 20 minute videos on UA-cam. Thanks Matt, as always.
@NDYakangler, I love how simple and elegant your fishing methods are. Nothing crazy complicated, what a joy to watch, thank you!
What an awesome video, Matt, I cannot think of a better way to spend a cool, wet and rainy Saturday on the Virginia coast, than watching my favorite angler toss a wacky worm for some huge largies on a beautiful and serene lake. Thanks for letting us join you on this trip! Take care and be safe!
Thanks for taking us along each week..very enjoyable,Matt👍
One hour in…couple a lunkers. What a beauty of a day.
A gentleman and a conservationist ❤ the very example of a true angler .
The wacky worm is just too good for bass
Another great trip in the yak! Thanks for taking me along, I always appreciate it.
Oh my goodness the longer I watch this, dam man your killing me. Wow impressive fish bro.
Bro you were slamming the largemouth. Dropping the wacky worm in all the hot spots. The wacky worm never fails. It's my favorite. Nice catches. Saving the best for last 👍
Greetings from Saskatchewan. Been watching your videos for a little while now and enjoy watching you catch some species that are more rare for me. We have Bass near the U.S. border in a resevoir but thats the only spot in the entire province. Thanks for another video man
Never get tired of your great videos, always a quality watch. Thanks!
The wacky worm never fails.
best fishing content on all of youtube, uncut angling a close 2nd due to his lack of uploads. keep the content coming please. we love it
I can’t imagine trying to do weekly uploads of the quality that Uncut Angling puts out!
@@ndyakangler good eye sir
Hei ! Terveiset täältä pohjoisesta (Finland ). Teet mahtavia kalastusvideoita, löysin kanavasi äskettäin ja olen täysin ihastunut niihin, Kiitos !
Peaceful Saturday in-between the last of spring cleaning and organizing we get a dandy trip in the kayak with Matt. "Wondering if the big mommas are hanging out in the deeper water with the males up preparing beds"... Yep spot on again. I've been using the heat shrink tubing for worm life extenders. Its been a nice little fishing hack without a noticeable drop in hook ups. Blessings brother
Thank you for your videos 👍
Matt, your wacky set up has changed the way I fish this technique. I have been using your heat shrink tip, and rigging with a 1/0 EWG; I'm hooking up with more fish, and keeping them pinned. Thanks so much!
Awesome fish! Nice work dude.
that last fish - epic jumps, man! Love this video, like all of them!
So underrated as an angler!!! Love the videos man, always enjoy them!!!
There are no words, you are a star sir
All I do is smile Thanks bud Means a whole lot
Feels like this channel could be called "fishing with Bob Ross"
My family is Heritage goes back to the middle 1800s in Minnesota. I grew up with a fishing pole in my hand. It makes me homesick every time I watch your videos. In a happy way.
Another great video! Nice to see you finally using braid to leader.
Killer day man! I recently started kayak fishing here in Central Oregon. I grew up in Arkansas, so am no stranger to bass fishing, but the kayak angle is just so different and cool. Thank you for the tips!
Tight lines!
The quality and quantity astounds me til this day . This guy fishes in gorgeous waters it’s heaven
Great day on the water. Nice fat bass. Stay safe...Fish On!!
It’s just a different world up there compared to southwest Oklahoma. It still looks like winter. Trees are still bare, no green grass yet.
Very nice sir. Thanks for sharing this with us.
5" Senko are my absolute favorite bass lure. I fish them exclusively weightless wacky rig and I use them on the DROP. Rather than jigging them across the water which has never yielded consistent results for me, I just let them fall to the bottom, retrieve and repeat. As they fall in the water they have perfect, subtle action to them that just knock bass out and they cant take it. All you will see is your line give a quick "tick" across the waters surface and you know you're hooked up. This is also a perfect way to locate fish and determine depth all at the same time.
Great video! Thanks for taking us along
Bob Ross of fishing, love it🎉
Can’t fish today, so glad for your videos! Thanks, man!
Same here, this weekend is finishing spring projects around the house. The major fishing season takes off next weekend. Hang in there
Great fish to end the video too!
My buddy got me out the other day and I just spent some time watching a few videos, I’d say you gave me the fishing bug bad! Off to the bait store I gooooo! Great content, keep it up!
I see you're playing around in my neck of the woods again. Maybe I'll brave the challenging launch and get back there soon!
The best fishing channel on UA-cam 👍🎣
The old finger thermometer 😂
Nothing but monster fish nice !
Get it bro!!!
6:12 towing the boat! 😂
Great video Bro, I never miss one and you never let us down .That was some Big-Ol -Biggins for sure...... Tight Lines!
What a way to end the day!
The Yum Dinger in the Mardi Gras color has been my best bait this spring. It looks almost identical to that watermelon gold, a little darker green. Caught my PB at 21 3/4", in addition to dozens of smaller bass. The yum worms are great for the money, they last as long as a Yama Senko but are half the price. Ive been casting it weightless on an EWG hook with my Curado K on an Edge Delta 744.
Put a Dinger on a chatterbait without the skirt...that sucker does a dance!
Best UA-cam fishing channel & its not close!
wacky is a very reliable set up.
The wacky sure has them going for it!
No one's probably heard of it, but the strike king king rat! Discontinued, but they were getting that rat today! What a fun bite...something different from a frog got their attention, including 3 over 3-6lbs...1 on the Lunkerhunt Spider, 1 on a wacky rigged Googan stickbait, and 1 on a Googan Dart soft jerkbait....Gotta enjoy the spring bite!
Beautiful scenery man. Jealous of the peace. Every time i go theres people everywhere. Lol
Man your killing me I just got a Kayak, and it's been 107 degrees outside. I want to go so bad. Man those where some pretty fish you caught. I gotta go.
Big Bass. Good Morning
Bro, those were tanks! Gorgeous bass!! Great stuff!!
So fun to watch !
Love watching your show on Saturday during my break 🐟on
Love your videos man keep em up
Those nice largemouths seemed to have been easier to retrieve and handle vs the river smallies
Another fantastic video!
Love your vids man keep going
Literally just got back from fishing. Perfect way to end my trip
You get me sick.
Nice job!
Another Awesome Video!! 🎣
UGEN!!!!!!!! Lake of Von-Hugh!! UGEN!!!!
Been watching you for a few years now. But finally pulled the trigger on a kayak. Haha. Hope I can slay just as many when out.
i sooooo want to go fishing but i moved 2.5 years ago and all of the "fishing" spot near here suck. we have not caught a single fish at any of them. our old spot was insane but is quite a drive and the best time to fish is super early (6am- 8:30am). after that the chance of catching anything drops off dramatically.
Watching this video from a hospital bed. Will be fall before I'll be able to get the yak out.
get well soon!!
So much money on lures just for the bass to eat a plastic worm 🤣🤣 love your vids!
Nice . I been crushing the small mouth all week with the sleeper craw . Three 21 inchers , 5 pounders ! here in northern Michigan. They're fanning the beds only hitting soft plastics . Caught a 7 lb today 😁
I’d like to see you do a video on kayak maneuvering techniques. Since I’ve been kayak fishing, I’ve come to appreciate how well you manage to keep everything in the frame and your kayak from whirling around. Do you have some kind of rudder?
Start bringing a scale with!
"I just like seeing those fish eat the worm" says it all
Really nice bass. Beautiful lake, peaceful day on the lake.
Stocky Northern strains
I pray everyday something thumps my worm yak 😂😂
.
Beautiful Bass!
Come on dude your fishing in never never land. Now your depressing me. Hehehe sorry for so many comments but dang somebody had a good, good, day. Stay on the lake your little one will understand one day if she seen the video. Stay on the Lake.
Damn id love to catch those 4plus lb largemouth bass. 😊❤
Bring back the spinning setup! It’s been years! You’ve changed
Love your videos! You are like the fishing equivalent of Bob Ross!
Can you explain what heat shrink tube you use? I would love to keep more worms for longer. Even the little rubber rings don’t seem to prolong the life much.
I use 3/8” clear 3M heat shrink and shrink a 6” piece on a 11/32” od brass tube and snip it into pieces. I used to shrink it on the worm but you have to be really careful to not melt the worm.
Bob Ross of fishing. See you later little buddy. 😂
Clicking drag on a baitcaster is nearly becoming a 'must'. You
don't realize how sick it is until you have it. Instant feedback.
That’s the only thing I missed about spinning gear when I started mostly using casting setups. I really like the clicking drag!
You rock
If you love watching the fish eat the wacky worm, you would love watching smallies eating adult hellgrammite flies on a fly Rod.
Wow you're really pulling them in! I'm surprised they're all largemouth up there so far North though, very surprised
I like fishing
dude is like the fish whisperer
You have awesome videos! Do you think you can do a video on how you modified your hat to hold your gopro?
Any tips for cover lots of water in a kayak and where to decide to fish. I feel like when I get on the lake I get overwhelmed and lost as to where I should fish or go to be productive.
