I saw Camacho fight Jose Luis Ramirez at The Riviera in Las Vegas. My dad took me to all the fights back then. Camacho drove up in a red Ferrari, and to my 9 year old eyes, I was mesmerized. Saw Tyson KO Berbick at The Hilton too. The good ol’ days!

I take it you watch the Camacho- Rosario fight in closed circuit since the actual fight was at MSG in NYC.

After only two views, there was a dislike. Why would anyone click on this and find a reason to dislike it ? I know, jealousy, by another uploader. It is a brilliant upload in great quality, of a peak Camacho, what's not to like?

I’ll be honest, I can acknowledge that he is a skilled boxer and in the early days he was entertaining. But in his later years he was successful, but boring as hell. And he didn’t have to be that way. He could’ve been a real superstar, but he put too many people to sleep with that stupid jab that doesn’t even do anything throwing occasional punches winning decisions. I’m guessing it’s one of them, it’s not me. I watch some of his fights but it’s not someone that I really care to watch.

Truth sayer I’m guessing maybe for that reason, his later years made them hate Camacho. I know what you’re saying but it wasn’t me who disliked it. I love any boxing fight that has action, I don’t give a shit who the names are but I can see how people were turned off by Camacho. His nickname was anything but if you know what I mean. It’s possible the person that disliked it or people didn’t even watch the video just clicked on it to dislike it and that’s it. I mean he beat up on an aging Sugar Ray Leonard at the end of his career, that might be a reason. Kind of like how some people hate Larry Holmes for beating on Ali in that travesty of a fight.

Camacho at 20 yrs of age, more talent at this stage of his career than most boxers ever achieve. His work from round 5 and up is brilliant.
He's so advanced for his age did he outgrow his trainers ability??

    • @kufujitsu
      @kufujitsu Рік тому +1

Giles, his trainer, was good during the match, when it came to advising Hector how to go about winning the fight, but I doubt he taught Camacho all of those moves. You can't teach that, otherwise everybody would be able to fight like that.
It's a shame Camacho made up his mind to become a spoiler after the Rosario fight, because he looked like he was destined for greatness.

Hector Camacho was a true technical boxer. Moving to the right confused a lot of boxers and he was able to capitalize with his combination...

I came to see if Camacho was a legend like I had heard.
His ring geometry was amazing. He masterfully used the ring and provided angles turning his opponent consistently. His savvy was mature beyond his years.
Demonstrated an educated jab, even applying double jabs routinely.
He had an uncanny sense avoiding the corner & bringing the fight back to center ring. I mean this is textbook stuff. he's passing with flying colors (or at least red, white & blue 🇵🇷😉).
It can't be understated, it's hard to beat an undefeated boxer which Camacho accomplished here because an undefeated fighter is supremely confident and doesn't believe he can lose.
Also Camacho exhibited boxing accumen from all three ranges. On the outside with jabs and straights, mid-range using hooks & on the inside, throwing uppercuts.
He's "cute" defensively as well meaning he's quite slick and adept at slipping his opponent's punches and transitioning it to his own offense.
Just a very well rounded and high level skill set.
    I was not disappointed.

Before Camacho won a 130lbs title he had trouble getting fights in that division, so he was accepting fights against 135lbs contenders just to stay active, He was that confident in his ability.

Great upload I recorded all of camacho 130 to 135lbs fights on Beta , now I could just go to UA-cam . He was simply a natural , a master boxer ! After the Rosario fight everyone knows he changed to a more survive strategy and got in heavier with drugs . Great job one of my favorite boxers

Paul was a good, world-class fighter. He beat an undefeated Tyrone Crawley, went15 rounds with Charlie "Choo Choo" Brown for the vacant world championship (IBF), and lost a 12-round decision to another world-class fighter (Terrance Alli.) This was a very good win for a very young Hector Camacho to have on his resume.
