I have had Fords in the past including Fiesta and Focus ST’s and they were always great to drive. In fact I had less issues with them then I had with VW and BMW! I just wish Ford would up their game with the interior quality!
Took del of this car and must admit its a drivers car.Roadholding, and the feel of the car in general it certainly is a hot hatch. The Engine is a honey , performance and sound wise, great to look at and exciting to drive.
I know it’s a fiesta floor plan and st engine, the puma st is more like a young family mans hot hatch like a 5 door focus st was. Now the focus st is best part of 50k , you may find more heading towards the puma st. 200 bhp is enough... Great review as always, as good as any of the big UK car magazines 👍👍
I've ordered 1in fantastic red. It was about £6000 more in the uk but as I wanted something a bit bigger it's perfect. Also insurance is quite a bit cheaper. Don't forget, the Puma will hold its price better too.
Brilliant review Mark. Bug on the dash, it starts to pixilate as you accelerate 😆 😆, looks like a lot of fun. That boot box would be handy for sports gear especially on wet days. Those high placed screens are dangerous I think in accidents where second shunt involved. Enjoyed that review 👏
That fuel economy figure sounds pretty high, even for a car with about 200hp, with the car being relatively light, also aren't modern turbos supposed to be all about efficiency?... While i know it's a car from a different company and in different configurations (and i'm only referencing it in particular as it's the car i want the most and look up regularly), but the indeed automatic only* 2.5L naturally aspirated "Skyactive" engine with 194hp** in the top spec Mazda 6 (and again indeed, with cylinder deactivation) is quoted as using "only" 7.4L per 100km. While the 2.0L manual with "only" 165hp and without cylinder deactivation, in the mid spec car is quoted at 6.7L per 100km... *Maybe Mazda's figured are just overly optimistic, maybe the in most accounts softly geared auto in the top spec and their Skyactive tech are the reason, but it sounds odd :) . **Which is pretty low power for a 2.5L, you'd expect more like 220+, it's probably pretty conservatively tuned, similarly to how the base 2.0L 6 is "only" putting out 145hp (also interestingly, the 145hp 2.0L is quoted at the same 6.7L per 100km as the 165hp) and Mazda's old diesels were putting out 150 and 184hp from probably the same basic 2.2L engines. www.mazda.ie/configurator/MAZDA6/4SD/
Better MPG is possible I'd imagine, I just didn't take it easy. Those Mazda figures are without doubt overly optimistic - I've driven most of their engines that you've mentioned. The petrol 165bhp is around 8-9 kms/L. I've a review waiting to be edited of the 100th anniversary 6 with the 2.5L engine too!
@@NobbyOnCars Indeed I want to hear what you've to say about the top spec... Generally people say, it's great except for the damn automatic gearbox, though it apparently doesn't rev as nicely as the 2.0L and Cars Ireland in particular said its' paddles might as well be decoration. Of course the "Platinum Lux" has a few features over the "Homura", the latter I'd probably buy over the "Lux" just because of the automatic (though if I'd more money than sense, I'd say "give me the Lux, with a manual gearbox fitted from the factory, I don't care what it costs", or better yet "here's a few millions to build a new MPS and to see what the hell is going on with the RX-Vision!" (Off topic, it's annoying how Mazda have changed the 6's names and specs about five times in the last three years! 🤔😀🤘)

Great looking car! Great fitting colour. The review was professional performed. Very informative!
Thanks for watching
Recently picked up the gold edition st number 248. Wow. What a car. And a beautiful sexy punchy drive. Top review.
Lovely little thing but Jesus 10 grand more than the fiesta when it’s the same thing is crazy . Great review as always

Good review, I've got mine ( in mean grean) just two days ago. My wife and I love it, best car ever ( coming from a Peugeot GTI )
LOVE that colour. They actually had that colour on the last Ford press car and changed it to this one. Fair play for going with the green!

I really like that er pixilated dash 😆😆🏁

Software update needed 🤣
as a owner of the st in mean green absolutely love it the steering I love fighting the steering is amazing.
pixelated speedo. Like a boss. :)
Tiny amounts over but I can’t be dealing 🤐🙂
Great review as always. Please do the focus st!
That looked like a lot of fun.....
Can see that maga box getting filled up with bits n pieces you use once in a while
Does your test car have the performance pack ?
What would you buy after driving both the puma st and st line ??
ST but it’s a massive price jump, the ST line is perfectly fine too
@@NobbyOnCars I'm buy a st puma now but didn't go for the performance pack hopefully it will still be good enough
Oh brilliant it has a limited slip differential………..(searching google to see what the hell that does)
In short, you can enter and exit corners better due to more grip and control.
It;s about the single best performance upgrade to any front wheel drive car you can get.
@@MrGrentch … and, in fairness… rear drive too ! Get all that power down..!

real mpg?
getting around 37-38 mpg, this car is for driving you use sport mode mostly, if you want more mpg get the ST line one
€10K? £4K IN Northern ireland,and some want to unite🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Can we have your car taxes rules if we do 🤣
Made even uglier in that dire colour . Jesus Christ.
