I have the tan one with gum bottom and they felt true to size for the most part, that’s interesting that the color ways may fit different, overall I’m skating them atm and love em

Regarding sizing, I agree on what you said about sizing being different depending on the colorway. Actually, not at all regarding the color of the shoe, but, like you said, the material used. I have probably 6 different pairs of the low top version of this shoe. The material such as the mesh and the laces varies from one colorway to another. I found that the leather ones fit looser than the suede ones. Not enough to need to size down or up though. I wear 8.5 shoes. I normally wear Adidas, and I've never had a shoe from them that didn't fit correctly at 8.5. New Balance seemed the same. Oddly, I did have one pair of 440s that I had two copies of. Same colorway, but, one pair almost seemed like it was size 9, even though it is labelled as 8.5. The low cut version of these fit my feet pretty much perfectly. I think they are some of the best shoes I've ever had. Maybe some people think they are "old man" shoes, but, I like the look of them. Then again, I am an old man.
Also, regarding heel lock in. The low top one are really good in that regard. I have the Westgate 508s and found those to have loose heel lock in. They are very comfortable, but, I would like the 440s better for skating.

Good helpful review, decided to buy because I love the color way and honestly skate basketball shoes after they are well worn in.
Plus I have Nike sb insoles laying around, good tip.

I think the sizing is definitely weird. I have a black pair and went a half size bigger and they fit perfectly. And my feet are a half size different ! My toe barely touches the end in both shoes.

Yeah new balances always fit weird I always go true to size but then feel like they’re usually a little too big.
