Regarding nose/tail slides, I didn't have any problems doing them.
This will also most likely be the last video I will make about the Powell Peralta Dragon/Bones X-Formula wheel roster as I feel that I am repeating myself in these videos. If you've been considering for a while to try out one of these wheels, you should go for it.
Thanks for the transparency up front. That needs to happen more on skate UA-cam!
Nice review but you did not mention how they compare to Bones STF 99a wheels or Spitfire F4 97a
I liked that the other ones were quiet, haven’t tried them yet but always liked how quiet they were on videos. To each their own, obviously, but I don’t really like loud wheels.
Quiet wheels when rolling are nice. Everyone likes the power slide bark, but smooth, silent timing is where it's at! Try some Speedlab Nasty Boh 56mm 87a wheels and enjoy the silence!
Can you still slide well with these
@@zachrobinson8954 off you use enough pressure, they will slide. But might want to go 92a for easier slides.
Very cool Skate One did this. Excellent review with all issues covered. I think for my situation I’m good with the Bones 97 X Formula.
In your opinion, which is a better STREET (not smooth park surfaces) wheel? These X99 or SFF4 97A? In particular and in regards to Speed, riding smoothness, grip and slide?
First one I heard addressing the danger aspect of them
Nice vid
Why did they send them too you if they were not aware you would review them cause if that was the case surely they'd be given these wheels away too lots of people I could be missing something here though?
Been on my x99's for 4 sessions, coming from some STF99s of the same 52mm V5 shape and they are the goods. There is simply no reason for the STF to exist now, these skate nearly the same but they don't get clingy on slides and grinds. I found the X97 really comfy but I don't need that in the park and it would hang up just a bit too long unless you really charged into slides.
i just ordered some bones x 56mm 97a v6, 5.6 venture high standards, bronson g3, mini logo hard bushings, pretty excited. i don't believe i've ever owned a set of spitfires, nothing against them and i'm not opposed just haven't. if i do i'd probably go for radials/radial fulls
Nice man, knew you'd like them!
So what's the difference between X99 and SFF4 99A? Which of the two slide better and which is faster on smooth surfaces and rougher surfaces?
Yeah I was hoping there would be some comparison or mention here as well.
Id wager these are a little closer to spitfire f4 97as than 99s. Wish they had more colors for 56mm spitty 97s, my absolute favorite wheel.
Like I've posted before, I haven't skated the F4 99a in a long while so I can't answer that question.
i have these wheels too and i agree with every opinion you have on them. i had unreal expectations of them after using the dragons 93a
Thanks for the thoughts on these. I was kind of looking at these and f4s but ended up going with the f4.
Do you ride risers?
I have some 54mm dragons, and some 52mm x97 conicals that i have been riding on and off a little bit until i grabbed some f4 conical fulls about a week ago. the f4 feels so good for curbs and sliding around, but the x formula and dragons feel so good for pushing around. I've got the dragons on winkowski shape for the janky street transition, and f4's on my 9.4 egg. Been playing around with x97 on a 10inch heroin popsicle and 215's
sweet tf2 footy hahaha
I ride 1/8" risers when my wheel size is bigger than 56mm. I ride Independent but sometimes Thunder 161.
Appreciate it! I can barely get away with 55's and no riser, so thats interesting... I do run my trucks a litle looser though

I’m not sure if it’s placebo but I felt like I can skate longer without any pain in my back or knees. Slight rebound but I like it more than 99a f1 Sf wheels that feel like skating rocks. But it slides a lot on asphalt. On park, beware on skating freshly painted ground
i went from 101 hardness to dragons. now im about to put on the 99xs lol
Which wheel is best for wood ramps and smooth bowls? Would you recommend the dragons, the x97 or these?
Probably the X97 but if grip is your major concern then go with Dragons
Based and Thorne-pilled review
Do you find that the first few session with a brand new set of wheels feels different after like 6 session when the wheels start to feel like how they wkll feel for the rest of her life?
The wheels felt consistent throughout the time I skated them
Yes TF2 footage for my smooth brain 🧠
How well do they grip
Is there anything that makes these better than spitfire f4 99a?
I haven't skated the F4 99a in a long while so I can't answer that question.
doesn’t the hardness of 99a kinda defeat the purpose of the dragon formula?
No, it's personal preference. Some people may need a softer wheel.
i personally feel a bit motion sick watching those parts where you are just pointing the camera at the floor rolling lol
Sick crail slide...
>TF2 with min field of view
bruh
LOL, i was like sweet some tf2 but then...
yo
lmaoo you still play TF2 thats crazyyy i miss that
Review heroin skateboards 🙏
Nice video. I'm undecided which ones if the x99 or the x97. As you mentioned it will be a better bet the x97 but the video proof the opposite. I mean for street rough and tricks it will be the x97 or the x99.🫣
im curious as well. what did you go with?
