I like your choice of the Master of Puppets version They are all still young and in perfect shape, musically :). Perhaps, the intro part they played was later included in their masterpiece named "To Live is To Die" from their 1989 album And Justice for All. It is dedicated to Cliff Burton, their first basist, who tragically passed away in 1986 as you already know, and at the same time is one of the best instrumentals I have ever heard! I strongly recommend you to listen and react to it someday. You already heard, how beautiful the guitars are and there is so much more in this song, you will like it 100%! That intro they play from the instrumental song is 'To Live is To Die', from the Metallica's album 'And Justice For All' from 1988. If you react to One, please do it with a live version or with the album version. The official video of One stinks becuase there are extra voices like kinda ruin the solos. Nice reactions! :)

They could go as hard and fast as anyone but they understood melody and wrote really thought provoking music and lyrics. Best examples are Fade to Black, Sanitarium and One. Oliver, I sense your influence behind the choice of videos. I’ve seen a couple of your live Metallica videos, and you always know the right versions to pick. ‘89 they were really in their prime-especially James-he was right on that line between standing out on the edge and being utterly out of control. His vocals were the best in metal, between ‘87 and , perhaps, ‘90 or ‘91. Before he blew his larynx out whilst singing ‘So What’. Kirk and Lars were at the top of their game; both played with energy, but this was before Kirk started getting sloppy. And Jason, though he was still becoming the best version of himself, was already such a force onstage. Whilst he wasn’t a technical master like Cliff, he played with such feeling , sang killer backing vocals, and was just such a whirlwind of energy onstage that it almost made you forget that he couldn’t play songs like ‘Disposable Heroes’. (Though if he could, it would’ve been dead stellar.)

Metallica was pure magic to me when i was young, the guitars and drums together, beautiful. The black album is the one i like most, but after the album ReLoad the magic was over.

I like Testament more than Metallica and Megadeth.
While Metallica sold out and started not being Thrash Metal, and to a lesser extent, Megadeth started sounding more like Power Metal.
Testament stayed true to the Thrash Metal style and are still kicking ass as we speak, Megadeth and Metallica are still doing it and popular ofc.
I figure Testament is going to be around longer though due to them being a bit younger. Chuck Billy is the best Thrash Metal vocalist easily.

@@OhMyMole I haven't watched Stranger Things but I do know that the body double guitarist that did Master of Puppets in that show did a show with the band Liliac where they played Master of Puppets.
@@OhMyMole Metallica's a great band still, I've been a fan of them for a long time (30 years) but it's also been a long time since I considered them Thrash Metal, their last album was more to their roots though.

Slayer sold out by sticking to the same thing they always did because they knew it give them sales.
Metallica always did what they wanted to do. Just because they didn't play million miles an hour every album doesn't mean they sold out.
I'd say Hardwired to self-destruct was selling out more than Load&Reload for example.

Metallica are actually the very first trash band, but that doesn't make them successful. Other bands determine the path of trash. Success comes with a mix of heavy metal and hard rock. For me personally they are overrated, despite the huge success. They don't belong to the bands that established genres. For the Metal itself they didn't do anything but create attention.

@Aaron Alfeche Metallica does not have a stage performance. They always give me the feeling that there is a small band playing in a small pub. I like that feeling. But I get it for a fraction of the money from a small band in a small pub and they need my money more. In addition, there are huge screens on which nothing happens.
