Great review... I have been tube rolling with the X7 and find that the best combination of tubes is using all Gold Lion tubes, the Gold Lion KT-88, Gold Lion B749, B759 (compatible 12AU7/12AX7 tubes) and the Gold Lion rectifier 5AR4 tubes. I have tried the Apos Ray 12AU7/ Psvane 12AU7 Art, Mullard 12AU7/12AX7 along with the Psvane KT88-T MK II, Psvane KT88-Z Treasure series, Svetlana 6550C power tubes and found the Gold Lions to be superb... The system provides great detail, clarity and a true sense of 3-D Holographic imaging. I upgraded the stock capacitors with Mundorf Silver Gold Oil for even better sound. I have both this Muzishare X7 and the Willsenton R8 amplifiers. The Muzishare has the Willsenton beat in sound quality and imaging. The Willsenton R8 IMHO is a better looking amp but has some irritating issues such as an overly sensitive volume control and it always starts up in triode mode and with input 1. The only advantage is that the Willsenton can use EL34 tubes which sound warmer than the KT-88 tubes (but the X7 can use EL34 tubes if biased correctly). System: Muzishare X7 Integrated Tube Amplifier (with Gold Lion KT-88, Gold Lion B749, Gold Lion B759 and Gold Lion 5AR4 tubes), Polk R700 Floor-standing speakers, Oppo BD-95 Optical Player, WORLDS BEST CABLES 8 Foot Ultimate - 7 AWG - Ultra-Pure OFC and WORLDS BEST CABLE Mogami 2497 interconnects.
Great sharing as always! Had this X7 for 2 years + and had it tube rolled to NOS 6550 Svetlana, reissued Goldlion rectifier, and NOS Brimar 12AX7 and 12AU7. Whether I tube roll or not, X7 is a game ender for me. It puts a smile on my face everytime I listen to music with it. Would be good to buy this from a local distributor in case there’s any functional or cosmetic issues.
I just ordered and received this X7 a few days ago. It sounded great with a pair of Polk L200 Bookshelves. Ultimately though I was hearing humming and the right channel had like a fan propeller sound. Swapped out tubes and the sound was still there. Also had volume pot scratchiness sound when adjusting and it came through the speakers. Wasn't trying to deoxit something brand new. I sent it back unfortunately.
Great review, thank you. I have owned an X7 for over a year now and can totally agree with your statements. Every listening session is an enjoyable occasion and i absolutely love it!
your presentation can not get any better ,,,,,, not only you spoke of the amp. clearly but you play music also ,,,, that's an over all presentation ,,,,, and at the end of it,,,,what was the best,, is that when you play the music ,the sound match exactly the way you has spoken about it ,,,,, very clear an amazingly done THANK'S so much
Wow what a beautiful tube amp 👍 putting this one on my short list have always wanted an affordable but yet high end sounding one for awhile. Great review 👍🔊
I have had my Muzishare x 7 for two years and have really enjoyed using it. Are there better tube amps for more money? Yes. For the price, it delivers and might even punch a little above its weight. I have rolled the tubes Kt88 tubes with some KT88z tubes and noticed a slight bump up in performance. I like using the VU meters as a scale to set the bias for each tube. Like most tube amps, it can get hot on your shelf. Give it some space to do its thing. The phono stage is average and it would be beneficial to add a dedicated phono stage in the chain. I haven't had any technical issues with it and the thought of where I would take it for repairs is a concern. I rolled the dice and have been lucky so far. I think it's a great choice for the music lover who wants to set up a little from entry level gear and get in to tube amps without selling a kidney.
Hi again Tharbamar, I have watched this several times now so please forgive me if I have over looked any information in the video. I am wondering what the difference is between the 'Collectors Edition' and the other version of this amp?
Nice review! I have a bit older version that does not have XLR input still has upgraded caps. I like ultralinear more but I don't use stock tubes and rectifier. I use solid state rectifier to remove sag. Quietest driver tubes I have found is TAD E82CC. You can change all the front tubes for it. This is amp is also crazy good for electrostatic headphones with the energizer.
Great review. Had my eye on the X7 since it came out years ago. Out of curiosity how much break in time did you give it? The manufacturer says 100 hours which seems a bit high.
All Watts aren't built to the same standard! Meaning, valve watts are real watts of power. Valves still sound much more powerful than solid state at the same power rating. It is the oldest technology for sound, but still the best as far as sq. Thanks for your review.
E-4000 is in different level of refinement, resolution and bass control with precision sound in every aspect of music, while X7 is very musical but sometimes it can be lacking with complex music.
Hi Tharbamar, after watching your review this beautiful amplifier was on my shortlist. I now have the opportunity to buy it and have been doing some more research. One reviewer said the X7 isn't best suited to uptempo dance music. I enjoy many styles of music and have a large collection of uptempo music. In your opinion, are there any genres this amp isn't suited to? Many thanks
Excellent video like all your presentations. I'm thinking about buying the Cayin MT 45MK3 because I have the whole set of idac idap and mini cd mkii. Because I will be about the same money, is it believed that the Muzishare X7 is a better option?😊
Great review! Thanks. I have tried to find the artist in your demo without luck. Did you say Wong Sang.?? I am looking into a local dealer for the X7 now.!!
Yes Artist I mentioned is Woongsan She's Korean Jazz singer, Album name is "I'm Alright". Demo song is "Walk Around Downtown by Cheryl Wheeler" but I don't think it's available to buy in digital format, Thank you.
I had 2019 version and it was terrible: dull, foggy, no energy. Changing tubes couldn't help, neither speaker changing so I sold it. Cons: sound. Pros: very well build, nice "windscreens"
Was seriously considering Muzishare (sure looks close to Primaluna's) but worried about after sale support as I am not aware of any dealers in the USA. So went another direction....
i recommend to look at the impedance over frequency. with every tube amp you will have loudness gains at impedance maxima und loudness drops at impedance minima of the speakers. You can measure impedance with Arta Box for instance and design your own impedancy correction and connect it in parallel to the speaker input terminals. the impedance maxima arround the bass resonant frequency cannot be compensated, but the impedance maxima at the crossover frequency and the rising impedance of the tweeter at high frequencies due to the voice coil inductance. I have my X7 (with XLR inputs) since November 2022. I love it!!!!
Does this mean that this is better than the Galion 120se ?? and will a tube amp work with heavy metal, since everyone talks about how they are not that precise in sound (i think about double bass drums) ??
Yes for the Money and good thing about Tube amp is you can always play around with different tubes, there is no such a thing as tube amp is bad for metal or double bass drums, all to do with sensitivity of paring speakers. Try with the speakers above 92db sensitive, more than likely you'll be very happy with realistic organic sound.
@@Tharbamar i already seen that video, big fan of the channel here. It would be interesting that you try the Musician Taurus, more expensive, but one of the best R2R soundstage and holography ever
I would check out "Skunkie Designs Electronics" as she found issues with R300 and the New R300B V2 has supposedly with new Output Transformers and internal part upgrades.

100% agree. My 35-watt Cary sounded more powerful than my 60-watt Yamaha. Tubes can swing a lot more voltage and are more linear within their range.

Yes, it was average.
I thought they sell them at Best Buy, I'll rush to buy one
Can anyone tell me how would this Amp go with 87db speakers.
It would make your speaker sing well up to 90db range in general in average listening space.
It won't due to lack of energy
