  • ✅ Farm to Table in Thailand at Ori9in Farm, Chiang Mai, Thailand
🎥 Farm to Table - Ginger Farm: • Thai Food Farm - 9 Dis...
CHIANG MAI, THAILAND - About an hour drive from the city of Chiang Mai (still within Chiang Mai province) is the amazing Ori9in farm. Today we’re going on a full tour of the farm but before, we’re eating a farm to table meal on the farm, at Waiting For May.
Waiting For May (goo.gl/maps/h1...) specializes in hyperlocal, organic, sustainable food from the farm. Chef James serves picnic style, where you order the different dishes which are seasonal and a combination of Thai and Western dishes. What immediately stands out about the food is how produce driven it was - not relying on anything that overpowered the natural taste of each vegetable. Also, keep in mind that I ordered the plant based dishes, however they do have a full menu including meat and poultry dishes.
Next we met up with Chef James who showed us around Ori9in Farm. It was refreshing to hear how it was started and how their aim is to educate and deliver sincerely organic ingredients, while treating the farmers with the respect they deserve.
They also happen to have some ghost chilis and I decided it would be fun to pop a whole one in my mouth… it was fun!

AS I SAID BEFORE, I sincerely appreciate your video's, Mark. They are so clean and safe and so capturing. Truly educational, and for some reason we never ever get tired of them no matter how old they get, - and we keep anticipating the next new one. THANK YOU THE MOST VALUABLE to me is that you never use any language that is uncomfortable.

Hello from Lima, Ohio, USA, Planet Earth, The Milky Way! Hello, Mark! I'm a recent subscriber to your channel - "recent", as in yesterday. Thanks for sharing your videos. The locations you visit are so beautiful and you provide a world of information to me. I learn something new each time I watch your videos. Lately I've been keeping up with videos about the pandemic, the war in Ukraine, etc., etc. and, man, are they depressing! I find your videos really upbeat and full of smiles and giggles. The food that you eat look so amazingly yummy! You have a beautiful family and I envy you for having the opportunity to travel to all these awesome places. I was born in Thailand, but came to the states when I was seven years old. I am now 58. One day, I hope to travel back to my homeland when the world is less angry and toxic. But, for now, I will see the world through your eyes. Thank you for sharing your videos with me. You and your beautiful family take care and stay safe!

I’ve always loved this concept but here in Australia it’s very expensive. I don’t know why if they don’t have to transport or buy the veggies 🥦 anywhere as we are paying for the trend here of them to farm the land. Great farming idea strategy to sell each part of the land space to people to earn an income, love it. Why wasn’t the food cooked there, but came in containers? I would love to see a mix of farm to table with meat, vegetarian is healthy but prefer to see meat.

It wasn't very hot because it's not getting the direct hit of scorching sunlight. I doubt if it was actually a pure ghost pepper. Every part of a ghost pepper is hot - including the skin - not just the seeds. And you will feel the heat in your nose even before you eat it. The smell is scary. I grow ghost peppers myself. I am in Kolkata now but I was born and raised in Assam. I KNOW you don't need to eat a whole ghost pepper to feel the pain. And it's not just in your mouth. The ears, neck, throat, tummy.... I hope you get to try a real good one someday.

Is disposable "woodware" better for the environment than reusable silverware made of stainless steel?

I was wondering this too.. also seemed like an excessive amount of plastic for the dressing cups etc. I’m no environmentalist myself, but it just seemed a little bit hypocritical

Genuine question! How do your stomach reacts in that spicy food? I love spicy food and chilies but I’ve become intolerant to spice. Any tips ?

I once ate a whole habanero and died for an hour. This guy casually nibs an entire ghost pepper. Big on spice for real! Great video as always!

You handled that ghost chili a lot better than a lot of people would have done. I’d have probably needed to lie down!
