CHIANG MAI, THAILAND - Today we’re going to Sanpakai Hideaway, an organic food farm in Chiang Mai owned by an amazing family who are almost completely self-sufficient. From the vegetables to the fruits to the teas to the meats, everything we ate was from their land that they grow and raise.
This was meal was incredibly good, but what I really mean about “best food in the world,” is that no matter where you are in the world, if you’re able to grow your own food, everything fresh, nothing processed - this is the formula for the best food in the world - no matter what country you’re from.
First of all, we started with a tour of the garden and the farm. From rice paddy fields (which were dry at the moment during the winter season), to tamarind trees, bananas, and bael. We then took a look at the incredible fresh herb garden - a place to pick everyday greens, herbs, and tomatoes.
We made smoked catfish with sweet fish sauce, smoked chicken (which was incredibly tasty), an omelet made with chicken, duck, and turkey eggs, and finally a host of garden vegetables like rocket, mustard greens and coriander. Additionally, we picked some broken bones pods - also known as Indian trumpet tree. It’s been a favorite tree of mine for a while because it looks so cool and the pods are so unique. I’ve eaten it many times, but this was my first time harvesting them and seeing the entire process of how to cook and serve them. It was fascinating!
Again, when it comes to food, nothing can get better than local and fresh.

Maybe just spread the word. Titles, they belong to the vain
Fearless and far is also 👍
Yes he deserve too
Self-sustainability at its finest. Forget a big house with small yards, I want big yards for crop cultivation. This is natural excellence. Such healthy foods. Good job, Mark!
The owner of the farm has the most infectious smile. You can see his joy, and then Mark's positiveness on top of that... Just a pleasure to witness. Always appreciated the videos that we can vicariously live through!

The sense of calm that descends over me whenever I am watching your videos is undeniable. Thank you for these moments of peace.
My favorite part is seeing Micha drink that whole coconut! He loved it. I would love to live in a garden like this.
You could tell how proud the owner of the farm was! Everything he offered Mark, he offered with a smile on his face. Absolutely amazing!
I love that you always bring your wife and child wherever you go...what a lovely family..GBU

🥰🥰😍😘
This has got to be one of the most amazing gardens in Thailand 🇹🇭 😍!
Everything about this family's situation makes my heart sing!!
I grew up on a farm in Canada and we rarely had to go shopping in the summer because our farm was our source of life!
Really enjoyed this one 👌 🙏💗
I envy this family that are surrounded by organic and healthy food taken anytime fresh from farm. At the peak of pandemic I can quarantine myself there for a year.
But naw u have to rely on your government, hey how was the 600 dollars hand out that we waited for a year 😂😂😂😂
@@zeeunveil1324 how ? Do they have to rely on goverment ?
My exact thought. Lol
These videos give me an unexplainable sensation. I get such a calming/chill vibe. Makes me want to sell my house and move to Thailand! Thank you for the amazing content!
We can see how proud he is of his farm... the smile and happiness to show everything around! Priceless!
Amazing video as always, Mike!

Mark, I was born in Trinidad and Tobago. I enjoy your vlogs and I believe you were born to explore, eat and introduce amazing cultures of food to the world. However, there is one place you haven’t explored yet and that is Trinidad and Tobago. I pray for the day that you will visit my land and explore the richness and complex flavours of our food. The first thing you have to try is one of our staple dishes “DOUBLES”. I hope you go there soon. Keep up the great work! I’m a huge fan!🇹🇹🇹🇹🇨🇦🇨🇦
Doubles soo damn good🤗
Yes Mark come to Trinidad an Tobago ..... come very hungry. I am sure there will be people lining up to take you about
Omg!! I almost forgot. Mark, you must to to Saparia in Trinidad and visit the Chula Queen “Aunty Shanty” - she will blow you away with her cooking! You must also meet on of the best Chefs in Trinidad and the Caribbean - Chef JASON PERU! In addition we have another great chef by the name of JEREMY LOVELL who is no stranger to our national culinary team. He has represented Trinidad and Tobago on the team where they won gold medals 3 consecutive times. His passion for food is driven by a deep sense of patriotism towards our local cuisine. They should in fact be your guide. You will be so amazed and impressed by our amazing, eclectic cuisines.
You can't be born in two place at the same time omg

I lived in Chiang Mai for one and a half years (because of Corona) and I miss everything so much!
I went to the market every morning to buy all this amazing fresh fruits and veggies and salads.
THAILAND is food heaven in Asia..Thank you Mr Mark Wiens..
I Love how beautiful Micahs' upbringing is! Amazed the way he drank the water from the coconut... Even most adults here in India cannot drink that way! ... ❤️ Love the farm... Beautiful!
This is simply the best episode for the past 3 years. It made you wanna start your car and experience the farm living first hand. The owner are so gracious and friendly. Great content!
Mika is so grown up... He's our child that grew up in our videos thank you
Awesome video Mark. Beautiful and cool organic farm. So glad you are back in Thailand. Wish I was there. Envious! Love Chang Mai.
My goodness! Look how incredibly fresh and beautiful everything looks ( and is). Micah my little man you'll be so grateful that dad and mom are showing you the most beautiful and fresh farms in the world. I can't wait to see you in a few years helping them on the show.
This guy increased my grocery list !! After watching his videos, all I wanna DO is cook and eat!
Mark.. You are THE MAN! So BLESSED you are.. I cannot express my gratitude of your works! Thank you for your obedience and walk. You’ve taken me and my family to places and spaces I would have never been able to see. I’m from California and I loved those videos ✨❤️✨ I can’t wait to travel to Thailand and try some of the amazing dishes and visit some of the recommended locations. This video was AWESOME and I loved the Ginger Farm one too.. Blessings to you and your family ✨🙏🏽✨ Love from our family to yours ✨❤️✨ Oh, hey Joel we enjoy your channel too ✨🔥✨
Wow Mark there are things on this menu that we never heard of or seen , that’s amazing. I love the peacefulness , and natures storage for food.
Who is we ? Because i know about everythin he showed in this video
i cant believe how old micah has gotten and as always appreciate everything you do always the most humble and happy person i get to watch , thank you mark
I was so happy to hear young Micah just flip between speaking Thai with his mom and in the BG, and then at 7:38 he switches it to fluent English so effortlessly. I am so happy you guys are using both languages with him and that will just make him more well rounded as he gets older.
i thought so
i always happy as well when he speaks English with dad and thai witg his mum He is talented boy
Had the worst day yesterday and now I’m here thank you for cheering me up mark!!!!
Mark, you took us on a journey from harvesting the food to the table. It does remind me of Big on Spice channel.
Great video as always, hope you, Ying, and Micah stay healthy and happy
*Honestly, 😋 👍 Anybody just wants to go to his home and eat the food*
This has got to be one of the most amazing gardens in Thailand 🇹🇭
Omg Micah is growing up so beautifully
So proud of my nice and her family!!! Can’t wait to go back to Thailand 🇹🇭 😻😻😻😻 สวนหลานสาวเราเอาจ้า ดีใจมากในความสำเร็จ แล้วเจอกั๋นเจ้า 💕💕

Thailand is on my bucket list!
I love they way Micah just TOOK that coconut 🥥
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Your host reminded me of you. He regaled in the food. He was also very humble and had so much patience. A pleasure to watch.
Oh Wow! The most spectacular video of this farm to table foods, all natural and what a variety!! I can only imagine the dishes that will be prepared when the tomatoes ripen. I loved how Micah took the freshly opened coconut and said you don’t need a straw, just drink like this!! Precious son! Many of the vegetables I’ve not seen before. You have to wonder over generations and time how did they figure out how to cook and prepare those foods. What a great educational outing this was for your family and viewers. Thank you so much Mark for widening our eyes to new things!!!
awesome video but my most favorite part was when Micah said 'we don't need a straw'
the kid will definitely grow up to be as smart and knowledgeable like you.......
It's so fun watching you travel with Mica. Watching him learn and grow with each passing video.
The organic farm looks amazing. It is well organized and a lot of hard work went into it can be noticeable.
👍😋🍽
What a life!! So beautiful to live like that.
It's a PARADISE ❤️🤍The main reason why I love Thailand is it's organic foods and traditional culture and the farming lifestyle. The village lifestyle in Thailand 90% similar with Indian village. The greenary, scenic view, spicy chillies, veggies...... ❤️❤️
I’m sitting here eating frozen dinner in my truck watching you and your family enjoying what life is all about. I really envy you Mark. You even visited my city San Diego. I’m sitting in my semi truck waiting to make my delivery in Massachusetts. The trailer full of cabbages that we’re harvested in the desert farm just east of San Diego County in El Centro. Love watching you and your family enjoying what life is all about.
Just in time for Spring : )-A time of rejuvenation, growth, new and hope.
Talk about “hope springs sustainability-eternity!” How stunningly diversified! And what a gorgeous family that runs it. That you, Ying & Micah got to meet, collab and eat with and meet.
Thank you for sharing Mark
One of the greatest videos so far. The natural variety in one video. So simple and yet stunning.
It’s usually awkward when a person who doesn’t speak the natives language visits them. But with mark wiens it’s different because every human on earth understand what that smile means.
He also does speak Thai, which helps.
errrrr Mark speaks Thai and also, the farmer and his family speak English
so...your point is?
@@riptide101 I was generally talking about every video mark has done.
Seeing mikah going from a stroller to telling his dad he doesn't need a straw is like the greatest thing ever.. lil man is probably on his second passport right about now!!💯💯🤯🤯
Thanks for sharing
Keep working hard
This is such a beautiful way to show how feasible it is to survive with simple but delicious and nutritious food. This farm to table kind of existence is something I have always dreamed to do. Maybe when I retire. Thank you for sharing this, Mark. So much can be learned from this video. Sending you love from the Philippines!!!
Such an amazing video. Just brought a huge smile to my face. Just awesome people making good food from the heart. Thank you Mark for bringing this to us. 🙂

you name it it’s here . This family is the most intelligent hard working human beings in this planet 🌏. Mark you came across a hidden treasure an well deserved, even the hospitality was amazing 🤩. Now lots of viewers not only know the knowledge of organic foods but the real reason of consuming such delights of vegetables right out of a backyard. My friends an I love ❤️ this video an understand the benefits of healthy nature . Job well done Mark , our respects from Texas USA 🇺🇸
Til the next episode and blessings to the family that host you & your love ones
👋🏻Hey Mark, Ying, and Micah! 27:48 I absolutely love and laughed at the look the guy gave when you ate the chilli pepper 🌶🤣. Stay Sane and keep your awesome videos coming! ♥️🇨🇦
☕️🌶 Cheers 🌶☕️
this is going to be the best video in 2022! we get to see various varieties of tomatoes as well as all the green vegetables and bananas. the owner really applies king Bhumibol's sufficiency economy philosophy very well. the mango orchard full of blossoms remind me of the harum manis mango orchard backs in Perlis every February. i never see an Indian trumpet tree in which the fruit needs to pass the flopping test before we can eat. i guess that the border town of Sadao in Songkhla gets its name from the neem flowers as it's supposed that many neem trees were grown there previously. it will be perfect to come back and visit the farm whenever the tomatoes and bananas turn red and yellow respectively. not to mention that the ordinary green pepper fruit shown in the beginning really looks like the Big on Spice channel logo!
To everyone who sees this comment, keep pushing in life and never give up. Can't wait to see you successful one day and May God bless you!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Mark your videos are amazing you put a lot of effort in producing them............... Love them
What a beautiful success to self sustain. The diversity is amazing! Thanks for sharing your shangri-la with us. Be well!
Omg everything looks great. But the fresh young coconut one of my favorite. Mica gotten so big so cute.. mini you Mark definitely ✌️👏
He is such a cool person, he seems so laid back and relaxed.. this guys going to live forever with a diet as amazing as this.
I will be retiring in Thailand someday. For now, I love visiting there. so this is valuable information.
This was an amazing video, this is the way food should be consumed and treated, all the trees and animals treated with respect, sustainable food, nature, green surroundings, it's my dream. One of my favorite videos, Mark amazing as always, thank you
Forget 5 star hotels restaurant and it’s ambience, I would prefer this .Such great ambience ,I bet it would make you feel alive and human .
This is not farm, this is personal heaven.
Pause for the cause this is super beautiful ❤️ just to go out and be like okay I need this and I would like to use that for whatever your dishes are. Overwhelmed with how much a community can put into everything and just be perfection in itself 😇 it is possible 💗
The Tahi food and Southeast Asia is super delicious 🇹🇭 Drinking beer with ice is not something strange in Thailand! That was surprise for me🤩🗺️
Because the weather of Thailand is hot , driking beer with ice makes feeling fresh and reduce the body's temperature ^^
I love your appreciation for other cultures
Love seeing Micah getting involved….❤️ he is a lucky child!
A backyard, home grown Pharmacy! Love it. Have a beautiful day Mark, Ying and Micah. God Bless y’all. 💕

On my visit to Thailand the sights were awesome but the food was spectacular! Coming home to the states I was depressed not having anything near what I found in Thailand. 👍
Lol for little Mica, he is mini Mark, how he went for that fresh coconut. The kids is really living the best life with his parents and what humble role models they are. Love the living straight from the earth life, no amount of money beats this. Awesome vlog Mark and Ying. 😊
It's like I'm right there with you guys. You're right, that place is a healing place even though I am just watching it through the screen.🌱🍀🌼
Aerial view is fantastic!
Absolutely beautiful and so nice to see it's not just commercial veggies. The wild foods are also much better! Absolutely love this ❤️. Much love and blessings
i really like your vedio and the food
Mark i listen to your son in the background, it's a beautiful thing for you, you will spend time with him sharing your experiences, as well as it is for him it will inrichend his mind learning about countries, people's, customs, traditions, traveling beautiful experience.
Nothing compare to freshness. 🤤🤤🤤
The production quality and polish of Mark’s content is all the more amazing when you consider he does it all mostly by himself. You could watch many of his vids on Netflix and assume their was a huge production behind it. Mike Chen, please take some notes
I would love to life that kind of life .
I can’t handle Sweet grown Micah fluently speaking another language ALREADY! 🙌🏻Been trying to learn Spanish since I was born. I’m 40 and couldn’t thread a sentence together. 🏃🏻♀️😵💫🏃🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🙆🏻♀️

Thanks for uploading this video mark🎉🎉
This is my dream home. By watching this episode makes me feel like imma in cloud nine 😊❤️🤗
I love how they run back and forth from kitchen to garden to grab ingredients. Its like a living pantry.
This is why I love Asian food, it's all like family style based and fresh ingredients
