Dark Souls 3 was such an experience. I remember the feeling after finishing it. It really felt like I went through a rough journey and finally made it to the finish line. Never have I ever had the feeling with any other game.
My favorite is deffinitely Dark Souls 1 simply bc that was my first experience for fromsoft. I hated on Dark souls 2 for the longest but after a long time i gave it a shot... and to my surprise i really enjoyed it. The biggest complaint is the ADP being tied to I-Frames but if you get it to at least 15-20 its already like 5x better, not to mention you can keep pumping it to have longer I-Frames. Then people say the world doesn't make sense.... its not supposed to lol. The introduction has Bezerk, Bloodborne, and the biggest one to the lore is the Alice In the Wonderland reference. You fall into the whirlpool exactly how she falls into the rabbit whole which take her to this 'Dream Like' world, hence to why a lot of npc's are saying they can't remember how they got to area's and the world changes so dramatically in such short distances. You do have to dig deep to find a lot of the lore in DS2 but after you get adjusted to the gameplay its genuine fun. Disclaimer though i genuinly have no idea why Miyazaki decided to have enemies guard boss doors..... that part is not fun....
A ds2 remake would do wonders for that game if it were made from the ground up. Also the whole dreamlike asthetic is something the entire souls series does extremely well within the scenery and music.
As annoying as the poison swamp in ds3 is, I kinda liked it compared to blight town. The enemies are easy to deal with and you don’t have to deal with the weird pathing of the shanty area in blight town. I’ve also never gotten lost in ds3’s poison swamp. 😂 blight town makes me feel like a fuckin feeb
Alot of people complain about the linearity of dark souls 3 , however i think that the linearity works for it maintaining a difficulty curve and having an escalation in quality ,the problem with ds3 isnt its level design its the world design , more people want those extra magical moments like ringed city and irythill, something that gave them awe like ds1
"Dark Souls 3's level design is also very good." Because they look pretty to you? Gameplay wise, you mostly talk about DS3 bosses, which are focused solely on timing of dodges, but because their moves are fancy, you enjoyed a lot apparently.
Dark souls is the type of game that kills you just for opening the wrong chest. I love this game
