Normanville/Second Valley | Dusk and Night fishing for Garfish & Tommies | Fishing South Australia

- Dodge tide isn’t the best time to fish but when it’s the only time you have, you take it!
In this video we head down to Carrickalinga first to try off the beach with some beach worms to see if we can tempt a fish to bite. The section of beach I chose to fish has a lot of structure in the form of a rocky reef, unfortunately the fishing was slow at this spot but it will be worth fishing again when the tides improve.
The second part to this video is night fishing the very short jetty at Normanville first and then Second Valley later on. I run through the setup I use for my night time Garfish rig and give a few tips on how to fish this style. This style of fishing is a great way to catch fish not only from Jetties at night but also from rocky area's that drop off into deep water.
I did manage a few fish even on a dodge tide so it just goes to show, if you put the time in even on poor tides, you can still get a feed. I will revisit the night fishing once the tides improve and I get a chance to fish it again.

Wow, Hook *above* the float. Never seen that
It helps keep the baits apart when casting, also Garfish feed at or just below the surface at night and feed deeper in the water column during the day.
@@scaledupfishing2122 so you only put a hook above the float for night time fishing? Do you also use the same type burley float with success for daytime beach fishing? Cheers...
@@TheFleetz Yes, hook above only for night time fishing. I have used the same type of burley float during the day but hooks are positioned a meter or more below the float.

Tomorrow isn’t going to be the lowest tide ever so you will be slogging through a fair bit of water. I would be checking out the first small channel as you won’t be able to get to the main channel easily. Apart from that Parham might be worth a look first and then head over to Thompson’s Beach and hope the wind doesn’t come up earlier than expected!

@@bigdex2385 my old boss said he got one big YF Whiting at Seacliff the same day I did the KG Whiting Video at Somerton but if you are going to head North it might be worth while trying upper Yorkes ie Clinton through to Ardrossan. Also I hear there are a few crabs getting around that way too.
Personally, I have been targeting other species mainly because we haven’t had a lot of warm weather yet. I might give the YF Whiting another crack Friday if I can get my deliveries done early enough as I’m planning to head over to Yorkes this weekend.

Just found out about this channel today mate. Not the way I wanted to find it though, wish I knew about it much much earlier. You and I used to fish off Brighton Jetty after work all those years ago (about 20 yrs ago). I miss those days. I will never forget those days.
