Most landlords require a two month deposit on a 12 month lease. You may be lucky finding a 3-6 month lease during the high season.
Unlike America were apartments come unfurnished, you'll have no problem finding an abundance of fully furnished apartments in the city of Budapest.
As a digital nomad, I'm looking for a 3-6 month rental. Expect to pay 10-20% more for a short term rental. It's the same everywhere.
You can find fully furnished rentals starting at 400 euros per month.
The place I'm reporting on today consistently ranked among the top places to visit in the world.
Low cost of living and high quality of life both make life living in Budapest, Hungary well worth it.
If you've been looking into Eastern Europe and are not sure which country might be the best fit for you, then I recommend spending a week in beautiful Hungary to see if it's for you.
Make sure to also watch part 2 as I reveal several apartments.

Thanks for a great video. Three questions, though: (1) What pages do you use to look for rentals? (2) Do agents / owners understand English? (3) Do you, as a tenant, have to pay a fee for using an agent to get you a rental? I hope you can take a minute to reply :-)
Austrian School, nice! Hayek ftw
I’ve never rented an apartment this will be my first time I only speak English if I go on a Hungarian rental site would I be able to talk to the landlord in English? I found a great apartment right in the center for 750 euros but it’s in Hungarian and not sure if the landlord speaks English
Which web pages or apps do you recommend for looking apartments for rent?
alberlet has quite a few decent apartments - really depends on your budget though.
HI there, I'm living in Canada right now but looking for short term rental apartment in Budapest, but not sure about the districts, and search engines?
How long are you looking to rent for?
Are you an EU citizen? If not, aren't you required to obtain a longterm residency permit if you plan to stay longer than 3 months?
Yes, I have an EU passport. Sure, that's possible - not sure about the requirements, though.
What website did you use for the apartment search? Thank you
I think I left it somewhere in the comments. Somebody asked a couple months ago, please have a look.
is there property taxes in hungary
Dude what Website do you use for the rental search ??
Let me see. What type of apartment are you looking for?
can you please leave a list of good website for rentals? Thanks.
It all depends on what you're looking for. I'd just Google "apartments for rent in Budapest", or search in Hungarian "kiadó lakások Budapesten"
Hi - do you have the white card to live in Hungary?
Hi Oliver. I have an EU passport.
Do you hv any thing left now
Instead of reading realtors pages, just tell us the resources you use? Pretty stingy on information, even in your replies
For real
People , relators put up adds in english. Couldn't they help ?
The second apartment, can I get a link or the contacts of the landlord. Thanks
I'm not sure which one it was on my list. I can forward you the whole list I have but I can't attach a file here, add me on FB or send me yours.
What website did he use?
Hi! I used alberlet and homesweethome.hu
Nomad thanks a lot for uploading the video...it was wonderful....I am planning to relocate to Budapest...can you please help me with any place I can hop in till 150 euros ?
You're welcome. You mean an apartment for 150 euros per month?
Yeah nomad... anything..may be apartment ...1 room only required...also sharing would work...
To be honest, it's going to be hard with such a small budget especially in Budapest - you may have some luck in the towns. 200-300 euros gets you a studio and 1 bedroom apartment in Budapest if you rent long term.
@@NomadElite thank you so much for the information....do you have contacts where I can hop in with 200 euros ? May be any renter name ??
You'll find it out )))
Why are apartments in Hungary not modern? All the apartments are old fashioned with odd colours and curtains
Updating apartments cost lots of money.
Because a renovated apartment is much more expensive. Frankly, if you are not looking for cheap apartments, you will find new and modern equipment. But don't expect miracles for little money.
